I love these pictures of the kids!!!

These were taken the weekend of the Bon Jovi concert here in Nashville. My Jovi buddy, Lisa, is a photographer and she took them. We went out to the park for outdoor shots. They turned out great. She took a lot more, but I couldn't put them all on the blog. LOL We got more good ones of Joshua than Ari. She was in a mood that day and didn't want her picture made. Come to think of it that happens often. She definitely doesn't like the camera much. I guess we aren't going to have a model on our hands. ROFLMAO

These are great pictures! Thanks Lisa.

ACK!!!

I just realized the other day that my passport is about to expire!!! This is not good. No I don't have plans to travel out of the country in the near future. But, it is always good to have another form of identification. Don't ya think? Plus, you never know when we will win the lottery and decide to take off to far away places for a little R&R. Heehee!! Don't I wish!!! Let's see, where would I want to go? I want to go on an African safari for sure and I'd love to go to Ireland and stay in a little cottage in the middle of nowhere. I wouldn't mind going back to Scotland and Australia either. There are so many places I'd like to visit. If you won the lottery and could travel anywhere you wanted where would you go?

I need a new ceiling fan

Yeah, I'm bored. Can't ya tell? I'm writing about absolutely nothing today. LOL I've decided that I need a new ceiling fan with a really nice lighting fixtures. The one we have now is ugly and plain. It also makes a lot of noise when it is on. Especially if you turn it on high. That drives me crazy. I have to sleep with a fan going at all times and the noise makes it hard to fall asleep. Okay, that is just an excuse. I can fall asleep pretty easily these days. LOL I just want a new ceiling fan.

I quit.

Yep I did. I quit walking and working out. After walking at least 4 days a week for 3+ miles, using my exercise ball, watching what I ate, and giving up Coke for almost 2 months and losing absolutely NO weight I just give up. I don't know what else to do. Maybe I'll go talk to my doctor and see if they will check my thyroid. Maybe they can give me something that is safe and will help me. Who knows. I'm very frustrated and depressed about this. That is never a good combination. *sigh*

So does anyone know of some weight loss pills that work?

Speaking of computers.....

Our school got new ones this year for all the teachers and school computer labs. I love them!!!! The new monitors are fabulous. They are flat screened and take up soooo much less space on our desks. I actually have room on my desk this year!! I was so excited. I just wish they had given us those very cool lcd monitors. Now those are amazing. Yeah I know, I should be happy with what we got especially considering we are a school and we seldom get new and improved technology. LOL I am happy with those, but I just really would like to have one of the lcd monitors. We can't get one for home so I may as well wish............right? ;-)

My printer

Ugh! My printer at work seems to not want to work well. Unfortunately it isn't a printer that is owned by the company. It is my own personal printer. So, this means that I am either going to have to replace it or somehow get it fixed. I did have someone from Technology come look at it. He said that it needed a new HDMI adapter. Seems that mine is burned out or something. My question would be this......................Would that fix the problem permanently or is this going to happen again? If it is likely to happen again then wouldn't it just be easier to go get a new printer? *sigh* The troubles with technology. LOL

I hate this time of year.

For no other reason than the bad weather that comes with it. Charlie over at NewsChannel5 says that we are in for some rough weather tonight here in Middle Tennessee. *sigh* And of course it is coming in the middle of the night. Stuff like this never used to bother me. That is until I had kids. Now is freaks me out. Now I have to worry about keeping them and the dog safe along with myself. It's a lot to have to think about. It is even worse when it comes in after dark. I guess I won't be getting much sleep tonight. Ugh!!

Calgon take me away!!!!

It has been a hell of a week. Both at school and at home. It was teacher appreciation week at school, but I think the kids forgot they were supposed to be good to me this week. They were determined to push every button. They just would not stop talking. For any reason. They missed recess time. They missed center time. They lost game time today. Nothing seemed to phase them. To add to all that, one day I had a killer migraine and I've been fighting a cold all week. This doesn't make for a very happy teacher. Ugh!

At home I had a sick kid. Ari had a fever for 2 days so she couldn't go to school. Both kids were also very good at pushing my buttons. Neither are listening to me. They are running crazy all over the house and continue to do so regardless of what I say or do. They aren't eating even when I make what they say they want. Time outs are fun (apparently). They tune out my voice and act like they don't hear a word I say. This doesn't make for a very happy mommy. Ugh!

Mother's Day is Sunday. What do I want? I day to myself. A quiet house or a nice quiet lunch out somewhere. No kids allowed. I'm tired. I'm frustrated. I'm depressed. I am feeling like the worst mom and teacher ever.

It's getting to be that time of year!!

Vacation!!! We always go to the beach. This year I'd like to branch out and go somewhere else. I have been looking at Branson. It is close and they have some really good weekend (and long weekend) packages available. They range from $423/couple to $683/couple. These packages include your room and tickets to some of the shows. Some of them even include food coupons/gift cards. One of them even has a $50 shopping certificate at the outlet mall! Ohhh, a vacation and FREE shopping too? How much better can you get? LOL If we don't want to do a package there are plenty of resorts in the area to choose from too. I like the packages though. I'm also a huge fan of theme parks and they have a great one in Silver Dollar City. The dilemma though is whether or not to take the kids. Hmmmm. There is so much to do that they would enjoy. Everything from museums, go carts/water rides, and putt-putt golf to exploring caves and caverns. They would really love it. I think Michael and I need a break though so I'm for leaving them with family and going to have fun myself. LOL I'm excited.

Sad. It's just so sad.

The foreclosure rate in this country is just horrible right now. There are good families out there who work hard and are still losing their homes. How is that fair? Some are able to get the foreclosure help they need, but so many others have nowhere to turn for help. I just found out that friends of mine are going to lose their home because they can't make their mortgage payments since their rate went up. Some say that it is their own fault for agreeing to a variable rate mortgage. I say it is the mortgage company's fault just as much. Why would they approve a loan knowing that when the rate does increase the people are not going to be able to afford it? Think about it. Most incomes do not increase by as much as the mortgage rates increase in the same amount of time. It's wrong. It is incredibly sad for the families who are going through this now.

Is it true? Could I possibly?

It is in the works for another Jovi show!!! The dates were just announced for Boston in July. Lisa and I are planning on going. And maybe even 2 shows!!! I'm so excited to think that I can go to another Bon Jovi concert. I've never been able to go to more than one on a tour, but so far I've been to two and now I have the possibility of going to two more!! I'm so excited!!!

Maybe I should have eaten something first

I took some Sudafed earlier today for this cold that I'm getting and I've been shaky all day. I had eaten some toast a little earlier, but that was all. When I started getting shaky I thought it was because I hadn't eaten in more than 6 hours. So, I ate. I'm still shaky. The only thing I can think that would cause it is the medicine. I hate this feeling. At least I can breathe and the sinus pressure is gone. LOL

What do you pay?

A friend of mine was asking earlier this week about auto insurance. She is not happy with the amount they are paying. I love my insurance company. I don't think that we pay too much. Right now with both cars and renter's insurance we pay a little over $100 a month. That is pretty darn good if you ask me. Especially when I talk to other people and find out what they are paying. My insurance company is really good too. I've never had a problem with them handling a claim or anything. They were very helpful when our apartment was broken into. When the windshield of my truck got cracked they even called the repair people and set up the repair for me. I think I'll stick with them for awhile.

How much do you pay and are you happy with your company?

I really want to go.

My "niece" is getting married on May 17. She's not really my niece, but the granddaughter of a man my mom dated. I've known her since she was 9 months old. First off, I can't believe that she is old enough to be in college. Much less old enough to get married. LOL She lives in South Georgia and I really want to go to the wedding. I know that I can't drive it though. Gas prices are just too much and it is too far to go for such a short time. I wonder if I can find any good flight deals? It would just have to be me though with Michael staying home with the kids for the weekend. I know we couldn't afford for me and the kids to fly down. Yet another good thing about moving home is that I'd be closer and able to do things like this more easily.

What was I thinking?

I just bought Joshua and Ari a frog habitat. Now I have to go buy a frog to put in it. Whatever was I thinking? They are going to love it though. I think when we move I'll get them a fish tank too. I was going to get them one today, but then my mom reminded me that we are planning on moving this summer and I really don't want the hassle of trying to move fish. LOL So that will have to wait.

I can't decided for the frog habitat if we are going to get a tadpole and watch it change or if we will go with a frog. I'll definitely post pics of it whichever way we go.

Here is the habitat without the live critter for now. Forgive the flash glare. ;-)

Does it make me a bad mommy?

Joshua tripped and fell on his bookshelf. He comes in the living room crying. My first thought when I see the knot is.............."Where is my camera?" Does that make me a bad mommy?

What a pitiful face. See that knot?

Can you see the tears? That makes me feel bad.

He just looks so sad. Poor little guy.

I'm still recovering....

Whew I'm tired. Who would have thought that one little concert would completely wear me out? Granted we were dancing fools and got very little sleep. On Thursday night after the concert we went bar hopping and then when we finally got back to our hotel room we had to hook up Lisa's laptop computer and upload all of the concert pictures. We didn't get to bed until 4am. Ummm, we are not 18 anymore that is for sure. LOL We only slept until 9am and then we went around town playing tourists (well, I played tourist......Lisa was one. lol). After that we picked up Michael and the kids to go to the park and take some pictures. We were supposed to go out downtown on Friday night, but we were too tired. We checked into our new hotel and relaxed a little bit. At least we were able to sleep in on Saturday before going to lunch and meeting another friend for dessert. It was a busy day and we still weren't done. We headed out to Opryland to look around. Finally we were able to come home and sit down for awhile. You would think that would be enough rest for me to feel okay today. Not so much. I exhausted.

I think it was the 4am thing. LOL

Frustration

OMG!! What is it going to take? Since spring break I have been walking 3+ miles (in an hour) at least 4 days a week. I've changed my eating habits. I've even stopped drinking Coke. All this and I've lost absolutely NO weight!!! Talk about major frustration. I don't know what to do. Heck, I think I've even gained some weight. I don't want to take diet pills, but I'm thinking about trying Alli. I've heard good things about it.

Ugh!! My mom thinks I should get my thyroid checked. Could that be it? If so, is there something they can do to help me lose weight? I really really do not have a good self image right now. I'm hating the way I look. HELP!!!!!!!!

Well that's scary!!!

Apparently there was a bomb scare last night before the Bon Jovi show in Ft. Lauderdale. Yeah, ummmm I would advise the police to keep the name of the person (when they find him/her) to themselves. I'm not sure how safe they would be when the Jovi fans found out. Geez, I mean they threatened OUR boys. We don't take to kindly to that!!! Forget about all the other innocent people in the arena. LOL I'm kidding of course. It was scary for everyone. What kind of idiot does something like that? I hope they find them and punishment is severe. I can't imagine what if felt like to have to be evacuated.

I'm glad everyone is safe and the boys still went on after it was all over. They did not let their fans down. The show must go on!! Rock on boys!!! We love you!!

Did I have fun?

What do you think? We had a BLAST!!! The weather held out and we were able to walk around downtown with no rain. We met up with some other fan club members at Rippy's. We only bought one drink there b/c a very small rum and coke was over $6. Umm, yeah. I'll pass thanks. At around 6:30 we headed over to stand in line where we get our fan club tickets. We got section 3 (on the floor) row N which translates to be 14th row. Not bad at all!!!

Daughtry came on first. When we saw them in Mohegan we really enjoyed it, but here we were just feeling a little impatient. It's not that they aren't good. They are, but we were just ready for Jovi. Both Lisa and I kept looking at our watches. It was pretty funny.

You could just feel the excitement. Once the lights went down the place went wild. The boys came out on stage and went immediately into "Lost Highway." It was great!! They put on a pretty rockin' show. Very few ballads this time. It was pretty mainstream stuff too. I was a little disappointed by that since I wanted to hear a couple of non-mainstream songs myself. LOL I was not, however, disappointed in the show. The audience was into it the entire night. Very few people were sitting. Unlike Mohegan where there were rows and rows of people sitting. Yeah, I don't sit at a Bon Jovi concert!!! It was HOT though. Jon was sweating by the end of the second song and I wasn't far behind. LOL I so wished I had a hair twisty so I could put my hair up. I was burning up. I didn't mind much though. I was watching my man sweat his ass off so it was all good. *sigh*

They had a couple special guests show up too. Big and Rich stopped by to sing "We Got It Goin' On" and Leann Rimes (grrrrr) stopped by to sing "Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore." Can I just say that I did NOT appreciate it at all when he kissed her? I was NOT happy!!! LOL I have a hard enough time dealing with the fact that he is married. He does not need to be kissing up on some blonde chick. Ok, so he can kiss up on this redhead whenever he wants, but not some blonde chick!!! ROFLMAO

It was a fabulous show and of course I am in "post concert depression" mode. *sigh* I sure wish they would announce the Boston summer dates so I'd have something to look forward to. *sigh*

Here are a few pictures. Enjoy!!

I want this look directed towards me!!! Love it!!!

Can I come back in another life as his mic? Please!!!!!

Love that smile!! *sigh*

Okay, so maybe THIS is the look I want directed at me. *sigh*

Gotta get that "butt shot." Can't leave a Jovi concert without it. ;-)

There's that beautiful smile again. *sigh*

Oh yeah.................for an encore they played "I Love This Town." He told us that no matter how many times he plays this song for other towns/cities that we have to know that it is for us (Nashville). Here is a video of his introduction to the song. He may love Nashville, but not as much as Nashville loves Bon Jovi.

Tomorrow!!!!! It's tomorrow!!!!!

I know you aren't asking what is tomorrow!!! I know you aren't!!! How can you ask that? It's BON JOVI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At this time tomorrow night I will be singing and dancing along with the man of my dreams (sorry honey!) and he will actually be singing only for me. *sigh* Forget about the thousands of other people there. He is singing for ME!!!

My friend Lisa flies in tomorrow to go with me. I am so excited!!! I'll be sure to post lots of pics. LOL

I'm so excited I can't stand it!! Luckily my kindergartners are going on a field trip tomorrow so I don't have to actually teach! This is good because I would be completely useless in the classroom tomorrow. LOL

"I'm not living here anymore!!"

This is what Joshua told me last night when I put him in time out for hitting his sister.

He proceeds to tell me that he is going to live with Namma (my mom). He was taking all of his toys and all his "boy" movies. He had to ask her if she would drive him to school everyday, but it was going to be a long trip so he needed a snack. He also needed to have a pet at Namma's and could he take Georgia. ROFLMAO He wasn't taking his sister b/c he didn't want a sister anymore. LOL Poor Ari.

It's getting to be that time of year.

You know. When everyone starts buying new patio furniture so that they can enjoy the beautiful weather of spring. I love this time of year. Well, other than the nasty storms we can get. LOL The sun shines. There is usually a nice breeze. It's not too hot. Ahhh, heaven. Today at school we spent a lot of time outside. We gave them an extra recess for being so good during testing week and for doing so well on the exit tests. The kids needed it and I needed it. We've had a pretty wet winter and they haven't been able to go outside for recess more often than not. I'm so happy we can get outside again. It helps a lot. Now I'm not looking forward to the 95+ degree weather of summer. I can do without that for sure! LOL

Gas prices suck!

I had to stop and get gas this morning on the way to work. My light was on. I put in $30. I. DIDN'T. EVEN. GET. 10. FREAKIN'. GALLONS!!!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous. I can remember (don't ya hate it when people say that?) when I could fill my tank for less than that. I'm so tired of this. Between gas and groceries I don't know how people are surviving. Ugh.

Earthquake? What earthquake?

Apparently there was an earthquake not all that far from here early this morning. Yeah well, I didn't feel a thing. I must have been sleeping hard. I think I'm the only one at work who didn't feel it. Heck, Georgia didn't even react. They say it was felt as far south as Atlanta. Who knew? I'm actually glad that I didn't feel it. It would have freaked me out. LOL

Did you feel it?

Thursday, April 17, 2008

I think I may have ruined my son.

He has a new favorite song. It is "Blame It On the Love Of Rock & Roll" by Bon Jovi. We have to listen to it several times in a row as we drive to school everyday. He will sit in his car seat with his "hickers" (aka headphones) on singing along. He wants it turned up. Loud. Well, today he asked me as we were getting out of the car at school, "Momma, can I be a rock & roll star?" There is a line in the song that says, "Every little boy wants to learn to play guitar so he can pick up all the chicks and be a rock & roll star." I lost it. It was so funny. I guess though that when he is a teenager and has to grow his hair long and he is in a band I can't say a word. It is all my fault to begin with. LOL

Michael says that I should have told him no so that we could start the rebellion now and make him more determined to be one. LOL

This is so frustrating

I love email. I check my email several times a day. Or rather, I TRY to check my email several times a day. I have 4 email accounts. Don't ask why. I have no idea other than being addicted. LOL What frustrates me is that at work there is one account that I can't check. For some reason I get the error page. It's not a blocked site and sometimes I can check it. Some days the site will pull up and let me put in my login and then I get the error message. Some days I can't even do that. I get the error message when I click to the login page. Some days it works just fine. I never have the problem at home. Never. What could be the problem? Could it be the router? Do you think we need to replace the old router with a used cisco one? I'm not sure what the problem is, but I sure do wish they would fix it. *sigh*

Do you know?

Have you heard anything? I'm looking for any information on where to go "hang out" after the Bon Jovi concert on the 24th. You know, somewhere I MIGHT run into them. Have you heard any rumors? Are you someone who is "in the know?" If you, let ME know. ;-) I promise not to be a crazy fan! Actually, I probably wouldn't be able to say anything to him anyway. LOL

Imagine that!! ROFLMAO

What dog breed are you? I'm a Bulldog! Find out at Dogster.com

Bulldog

The Comedian

You may look like the troublemaker of the pack, but it turns out your tough guy mug is worse than its bite. You're really a softie, loyal to your friends and family and A-OK with meeting new pooches, but you prefer to do so with a high-five instead of a paw-shake. Proud of your great sense of humor, you've got a whole litter of jokes you draw from to keep the mood playful and the positive energy alive. A perfect afternoon for you involves a leisurely stroll with a pal, followed by a little downtime in an easy chair with a frosty can of brew and a remote control within easy fetching distance. You shed accusations of being lazy, knowing perfectly well that you're kenneling the energy you might need for... well... something.

Did you carry?

When you were in college or even now, do you carry any sort of self defense products? I carried pepper spray when I was in college. I wasn't supposed to walk alone at night, but I did on occasion. It was kinda scary for me and I know that the spray may not have given me all the protection I needed, but it did make me feel somewhat better.

I've thought about starting to carry it around again, but with young kids around I'm a little afraid. Know what I mean? But, with Michael working second shift I go a lot of places alone with the kids and I sometimes worry about something happening when I have them with me. It's a scary thought.

Got one for Christmas....

I got a new comforter and pillows for our king size bed for Christmas, but I've already decided that I need a couple more bedding sets. I love to change up my room. The one I got at Christmas is pretty thick and getting hot. I definitely need a new set for spring and summer. One that is a little lighter and cooler. I love down comforters best though. They are so............comfy. LOL

I will have to decide on color schemes. One thing I have to take into consideration is the color of my dust ruffle. No, I'm not going to change that every time I change the other bedding. We have a king size bed. It is just to hard to change out the dust ruffle. I need something neutral. Got any ideas? Keep in mind that I have a husband who doesn't really feel comfortable sleeping amidst flowers. Not to mention I'm not the flower type either. ;-)

I've said it once.....

And I'll say it again. Someone needs to open a drive through convenience store. I hate having to take my kids to the grocery store and get everybody out of the car just to get a couple things like milk and bread. Especially when it is raining. That is just annoying. I will usually do anything possible to avoid doing that, but sometimes it just isn't possible. I HAVE to have it for dinner that night or breakfast the next morning. *sigh* Maybe I should check into it and see if there is any sort of franchise for one of them. Do you know someone with money who could back me in a venture like that? ;-)

Today was a fun day at school

We had a lot going on and were always busy, but it was fun. First, we had an awards/pep rally and later in the day we had a wedding. Yep. In kindergarten. Seems that Mr. Q and Miss U fell in love and just had to spend the rest of their lives together!! LOL It was so cute and the kids did such a good job. I was very proud of them. Sadly I can't post pictures of them for privacy reasons, but it really was cute. We even had a reception afterward in our classroom. Complete with a Little Debbie Snack Cake wedding cake and punch.

I'm tired now though and glad that it's over. We practiced all week and the kids have been absolutely wild with excitement. Not to mention the fact that the song "Going to the Chapel" is going to be stuck in my head for weeks. LOL Including the little hand/arm motions. Good thing I like the song. ;-)

Get well soon Larry!!

I just found out that my beloved Larry Munson (play caller for the Dawgs) had surgery yesterday to remove blood clots in his brain. Sending out lots of prayers for a quick recovery.

If you've never heard Larry call a game you are really missing out. He brings it to life like no other. I first started listening to him when I was 14 years old and my mom wouldn't let me watch anymore UGA games on TV. She was afraid I was going to have a nervous breakdown after the UGA/Clemson game that year. LOL I had to rely on Larry to bring the games to me. Well he did. With passion and humor. He loves the Dawgs as much as I do and it shows every time he calls a play.

Me made another fan in Christian a couple years ago. We were driving from Florida on the day of the UGA/Tech game and of course had to listen to the game. It was the first time Christian (former Gator fan) had heard him. He was as enthralled with the voice and passion as I was. He kept telling me that he had chills. LOL Larry can do that to you.

Last year Larry decided that he was only going to call home games. This broke my heart. While I don't get to listen to him as often now that I live in the dreaded Big Orange Country (shudder shudder) I still enjoy listening to clips of his calls.

Get well soon Larry.

Does it ever end?

Yeah, I'm no longer a teenager. Like I said below, I'm 36 years old!!! I thought it was supposed to end once I was no longer a teenager. Apparently not. What am I talking about you ask? Acne. Yeah. I'm not happy. Granted it's never been bad and usually only really pops out (ewwww gross) around menstrual time, but it is danged annoying. I need to find a good acne wash that will help it go away faster. I don't wear makeup to cover it on a daily basis so I need something to shorten the life span. KWIM?

Is this common?

Ugh! I'm only 36 years old for crying out loud. Why do I always get the calls offering to give me life insurance quotes? It is kind of giving me a complex here! LOL I already have life insurance so it's not like I'm ignoring my responsibility to my family, but do these guys know something I don't? LOL Heck, I even have life insurance on my kids. I have a cousin who works in the industry and she makes sure I'm well taken care of.

So glad it's Friday

Whew. What a rough week. We went back to school this week. I'm tired. For some reason during spring break my kids decided to let me sleep until about 9am everyday. Yeah that was wonderful. I'm regretting it now though. Getting up at 5am is killing me!!! I hope I get back into the swing of things by next week. I'm not sure I can take another week like this one. Not only was I tired, but the kids in my class were incredibly uncooperative this week. They couldn't stop talking for anything. It was driving me crazy. I needed the weekend to get here. Now I'm just waiting for the kids to go to bed so I can have a little quiet time for myself. Ahhhhhh!!!

Not dealing well today

Okay, I'm really not dealing well with my kids today. I have a massive headache (thinking maybe I need caffeine) and they have not napped at all in 2 weeks. I'm tired. They're tired. It's not a good combination. I'm not even getting quiet time like I normally do. They will not stay in the other room watching a video even. I'm feeling like a horrible parent with all the yelling I'm doing today. I just want them to give me an hour of quiet time. That's all. Is that so hard? It's almost 5pm and that means only 2 hours until quiet time before bed. I'm counting down the hours. Does that make me a bad mommy?

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter everyone!! I hope you are having a wonderful day. Ours is kinda quiet today. The Easter Bunny dropped of the baskets and the kids loved them. They've been watching the DVDs that Mr. Bunny put in their baskets. We colored eggs, but they didn't want to go on an egg hunt. Which is really fine with me. It is cold outside today. They won't eat the eggs either so I guess I'm stuck with egg salad all week. LOL No problem though. I like egg salad. ;-) Michael had to go to work so it is just a quiet lazy day around the house.

Yesterday was Joshua's first t-ball game. He had a blast. Granddad, Aunt Marette, and Bubba came to watch. Joshua hit the ball really well and "scored" twice. LOL They don't really keep score for t-ball, but he was able to round the bases twice. It was cold though and by the end he was ready to go home. Poor little guy was freezing. Momma was too!!

Tomorrow it is back to work for me. *sigh* I've been on spring break for 2 weeks and now I'm spoiled. I don't want to go back to work. LOL Only 9 more weeks until summer break though so I'm sure I can make it. Not to mention I've got a Bon Jovi concert (didn't think you could get away with not having to read about that did ya?) on April 24 to look forward to. I can't wait!! My friend Lisa (you'll remember I went to the Mohegan show with her) is flying in for that one. We are going to have too much fun!!!

Who needs diamonds?

Who needs diamonds when you can have these beautiful Akoya pearls? Aren't they absolutely beautiful? I love pearls. They are so elegant and classy. I don't have the opportunity to wear them much, but I love them. I think that every woman needs to own at least one strand of pearls. The salt water ones are my favorites. I do own a strand of pearls. I used to have a strand of Tahitian pearls, but they got stolen. I really really want another strand of those. They were beautiful. I miss them. *sigh*

Oh and for the record...........I still need the diamonds too. ;-)

So I've been walking on the treadmill everyday.

I was going to do this really quietly, but you know me.......I can't keep anything to myself. LOL I've been trying to lose weight again. For the past 2 weeks I've been walking on the treadmill everyday. I walk on average three miles in about an hour. While I haven't noticed a difference in my body really, I have noticed that I feel much better. That is good, right? I was wondering though if I should be using the strength equipment that is in our gym? I haven't so far. Would it help in he weight loss goal? Is it really necessary? I have an exercise ball at home that I've been using too for my upper body. Just wondering if I should be doing more. Are there any personal trainers out there who would like to help me................for free? ;-)

When we move and buy a new house.

I've decided that when we buy a new house I want to have an entertainment room. I want to have home theater seating and a huge flat screen plasma TV mounted on the wall. I want it to be complete with the home theater sconces. You know, the light fixtures. I want them to say something about football of course. I want surround sound for the movies and the games. I have it all designed in my head. Do we do a lot of entertaining? No not really. Okay so we don't do any entertaining, but it would still be fun for us. I'm sure the kids would love watching Dora or Scooby Doo on there and I know I would love to watch Pirates and my football games. It's a dream so let me have it! LOL

I'm sure Michael can relate.

A friend's husband came up with this little funny. He altered the original cartoon to fit his situation. See Honey, you aren't the only one! ;-)

What do you workout to?

What is on your iPod? I bet you can't guess in a million years what is on mine! LOL I've been walking on the treadmill to Bon Jovi (yeah bet you never guessed that!). I've found that it makes the time go by so much faster and easier. I like the faster rockin' songs to keep me going, but I like the slower ones too. I tend to kinda meditate through them and my heart rate goes down. It's a good combination. I just put my little Sony Walkman on the Jovi shuffle and take off. I'm loving it.

If anyone knows of or has a treadmill they want to get rid of (preferably for free) please let me know. I could use one.

I need some new shoes!

Yes I have more than any woman should right now in my closet, but I need more!! Standing on my feet all day teaching is killing my feet and legs. I wear tennis shoes most days because they are the most comfortable, but they don't always look good with whatever I'm wearing. I need something I can wear that looks good and is comfortable. I've been looking at the Dansko clogs. They don't look bad and they look like they would be comfortable. Do you have a favorite pair of very comfy shoes that don't leave your feet and legs tired after standing all day? If so, let me know.

Who would have thought?

My mom has been on a cruise since last Saturday. While on the cruise she entered a karaoke contest. Well..................SHE WON!!!!!! Who would have thought? I'm so proud of her. I guess all that practice at family gatherings has paid off!! Way to go Momma!!!!

Here is a video of her singing from several years ago. It is focused on Joshua, but she is the one singing.

The 4 year old plays t-ball.

Spring is here!!

Whew. Now I'm tired.

I spent the entire day on Sunday cleaning out my closet. I gathered 7 bags (yes 7 large bags) of clothes that will go to Goodwill. I then went to buy some of those cheap 3 drawer plastic drawers to put in the closet. I put a shelf in there as well. I took all of our clothes out of the dresser and chest of drawers and they are going in the dumpster. They are about 15 years old and have been moved more times than I care to count so they are falling apart. I refuse to move them again so we're just going to use these plastic things until we move and I find something I like. It opened up quite a bit of room in the bedroom though so that was good. Now I need to find something to do with all the shoes in there. I hate those over the door shoe racks though. We had one and it just didn't work for me. Anyone have any ideas for shoes. There isn't a lot of room left in the closet.

I still have a few things that I want to do in the house for spring cleaning, but for the most part I'm done. Only problem is now I don't want the kids to play in the living room and I don't want to use the kitchen. LOL They looks so nice it almost hurts my heart to get them messed up. *sigh*

Cool

My best friend just finished remodeling her house. She has been working on it for quite awhile now. The last room was the kitchen. She hated the cabinets that came in the house so decided that they must be replaced. I had to agree. The ones in there were horrible. She ended up going to the directbuy store. She now has the most beautiful cabinets and she didn't pay an outrageous price for them. That place is amazing. LOL I was looking online at some of the cabinets and I fell in love with several designs. You better believe if I ever need new cabinets I will be going there. :-)

I'm attempting it.............again.

Yep, once again I've decided to try and lose some weight and get into better shape. I started this week going to walk on the treadmill in the health center here at the apartment complex. I've been eating better this week and I've come off of Coke........cold turkey. That has been the hardest part so far. I'm having major headaches. So far I've only walked on the treadmill, but I think I may try the ellipticals tomorrow. It can't hurt to use more than one piece of equipment. The weather is getting nicer so I should be able to start walking outside after school soon. If not, I guess I can try to go to the health center after school with the kids. I just have to be sure to take plenty of toys to keep them busy and off of the equipment. I'll try it anyway. If it doesn't work I guess I'll just have to wait for days when Michael is off or the weather is good enough to walk outside. Wish me luck!!

Know anything about golf?

I figure since we are thinking of moving to Florida we should at least try golf. I've never been. Well, I take that back. In college I would drive the golf cart for friends, but I never played. LOL I like putt-putt though. Does that count? I've heard that clubs can be pretty expensive though. What are good one? Do you have to have really good ones to really be good at it? What are the best ones? I have a friend who really likes his Cobra golf clubs. He wouldn't use anything else. I just don't know. Maybe I should go to a driving range first to see if I should even attempt it. LOL

The ball is rolling

I've started filling out applications to teach in Florida. It's very scary really. The thought of starting over in a new school system and making new friends. I'm comfortable here. LOL I really would like to teach close to my mom, but I've been thinking that I could be happy in Central Florida too. I was looking at Kissimmee (close to Orlando) and I would be making considerably more money and the cost of living is close to what it is here. On Amelia Island I would be making about the same as I make here and the cost of living is quite a bit more. The downside to moving farther south is that we won't have my mom close by. I miss my mom. Granted three hours is a whole lot closer than nine, but still I wouldn't be able to see her whenever I wanted to. *sigh* Decisions. Decisions.

Regardless of where we live we have to find mortgage lenders to finance a home. That isn't going to be easy. Ugh. I hate all the things that go into moving.

It's not getting any better

The PCD that is. Well, a friend said we are now upgraded to "Jovi Blues." So I guess we are getting a little better. I'm guessing I should just go ahead and advertise it with one of those cute little marketing pens. You know, with something like "I'm a Joviaholic" on the side. I'm sure my friends and family would get a huge kick out of that. They already think I'm absolutely nuts. LOL They really don't know the half of it though. I don't even think Michael knows.

Addicted

Yep, that's me. I am so addicted. As you know I just came back from a concert at the Mohegan Sun Casino on Monday. I spent the weekend in New England with my friend Lisa for the Bon Jovi concert. It was great......fabulous.......wonderful. Now, however, I am suffering from "Post Concert Depression" or PCD. It happens after every BJ concert I go to. This time it is worse though. It's a completely different experience going with someone who is just as crazy about them as you are. Don't get me wrong, I love going with my wonderful husband, but I tend to hold a tighter reign on my emotions. With another addict I don't feel like I have to do that. Now the PCD is worse. I'm addicted. I'm afraid this time I may need some sort of addiction treatment. *sigh*

My traveling is about to take off.

My friend Lisa and I have decided now that we've had a taste of going to concerts together we can't give it up. Our problem though is that I live here in Nashville and she lives up near Boston. That means when our favorite band plays anywhere in New England I have to go there and when they play down here in the South East she has to come down here. Oh boy. I'm going to need new luggage!!! I've been shopping around and I've decided that I like the Swiss Army luggage. Now I just have to decide what color I want. You know it will either be red or black........or maybe both. ;-)

Here is Jon singing Hallelujah

It is only a little bit of the song, but man oh man will he make you melt. *sigh*

Jovi pics.....with some Daughtry thrown in.

I was finally able to upload some pictures. My friend Lisa took these. Her camera was better than mine and I'm sure glad of that. She got some great shots. Go here to get all of them. She took over 300. LOL I'm loving every one of them too. I just don't understand how anyone cannot just melt when they see him. *sigh* I guess it is a sickness for which there is no cure. I'm not complaining though.

He makes the funniest faces when he sings and I love everyone of them.

How can you just not love that face?

*sigh* I really do love that man. Heehee! He makes me act like a teenager again. LOL

Here he is singing Hallelujah.

Jon and Richie with their guitars. Gotta love them both.

Chris Daughtry. He really is a cutie. Fills out a pair of jeans nicely too. ;-)

His songs aren't bad either.

O.M.G. *sigh*

I had a wonderful weekend. What did I do? I went to see Bon Jovi!!!! OMG!! I love that man (sorry honey!) My friend, Lisa, and I had fan club tickets on the floor for the show. It is the closest I've been since they had general admission when I was 17 years old. We were so close!!! I could see that beautiful smile without having to look up at the screens. It was amazing. Of course he was singing just for Lisa and me. Forget about the other 10,000 people in the arena. It was ALL FOR US. *sigh* They played the arena inside the Mohegan Sun casino. It was a packed house and very loud. I loved it. I have to say that Jon sure knows how to work the crowd. He is very good at seduction. *sigh*

It was an adventure getting to the show though. I flew into Providence on Friday night and of course my flight was delayed for over an hour. Lisa picked me up and we went to eat. It had started raining and boy did it rain. It wasn't too bad on Friday night, but Saturday it was crazy. We were going to go into Boston on Saturday before the show since I've never been there, but with the rain we decided to scratch that idea. We got to sleep in a little bit though so that was nice. When we got up we had to get to our hotel in Mystic, CT. It was not a fun drive between the high winds and rain. We finally made it there and checked in. We had about an hour to get ready before we had to leave for the show. We were so excited!! LOL The drive to the casino was worse than the drive to the hotel. The rain was blowing sideways!! Of course the parking garage was full so that meant we had to park in an uncovered lot with all that rain. We got lucky though and found a spot close to the garage so the walk to cover was very short. Once we got inside the casino we found that it was packed. Finding something to eat was not going to be easy. All of the restaurants were on a several hour wait. We finally found the food court (this place is huge by the way) and had pizza. We had to stand up to eat it though. After dinner we decided that we needed to lose some of our clothes (get your mind out of the gutter......we had on 3 shirts and it was hot!!), but we also realized that we left the all important ticket confirmation in the car. Yeah, we had to go back out into the rain. LOL When we came back inside we went to the fan club ticket table to pick up the tickets. We were a little disappointed that we got 17th row, but when we got into the arena and sat down we got over that really quickly. LOL They were great seats!!

Daughtry opened the show. I knew he was on American Idol (I watched the 2 shows Jon was on that season! LOL), but I hadn't heard anything he had done on his own. He wasn't bad and definitely not hard on the eyes. A very nice way to pass the time until Jovi. They came onstage at around 9pm and for 2 hours and 45 minutes they rocked the house. I screamed. I sang. I even cried a little when he sang Hallelujah. I absolutely love that song. I'll post a short video of part of it in a little while. I did not want the show to end. I always get after concert depression when a show ends. It's a sickness. LOL Luckily we have the show in Nashville to look forward to in April. Maybe one this summer too. We'll know more about that when the summer dates come out. I'm excited!!

Luckily it had stopped raining when we left for the hotel. We got back to the hotel and immediately had to look at the over 300 pictures we took. There was a lot of giggling and sighing going on to be sure. LOL We got to bed around 3am (with the time change). The next morning we headed into Boston. It was very windy and COLD though. No matter. We just bundled up and went walking. I got to see the Boston Harbor and a little bit of downtown. I'll go on a tour the next time I'm there so I can see all of the historical sites. We didn't have time this trip. When we left Boston we headed to dinner with another friend. We didn't get home until after 10pm and of course were up looking at the pictures on the computer screen for another hour or so. With about 5 hours sleep we headed to the airport for me to come home.

I'm exhausted, but happily so. It was well worth it. I can't wait until April when Lisa comes here for the next show. I'm so excited!!!

Well hell

All winter I've complained about not getting any snow. Well guess what. I'm going out of town to Boston (where there is NO forecast for snow) and what is going to happen right here in good ol' Nashville? You guessed it. SNOW! They are saying we could get as much as 6 inches. Well hell. Wouldn't ya know.

Feeling down

I shouldn't be. I should be bouncing off the walls right now. I leave in 3 days going to Boston for a Bon Jovi concert. Don't get me wrong, I'm incredibly excited about that. I'm just feeling a little lonely tonight.

Snow Day!! Snow Day!!

Want to see what got us out of school today? You'll laugh. I know my friends up north are laughing. And rolling their eyes. LOL

Yep, that little bit of snow got us out of school today. I'm not complaining though. It means that I don't have to leave work early or Michael doesn't have to go in late since Joshua still can't go back to school. Works for me. ;-)

Well I'm feeling better so far today....

I've pumped myself full of Vitamin C and Airborne. I am refusing to let this thing get to me. I've got too much going on. Michael, however, is not winning his battle. He didn't feel well last night and he woke up this morning with a fever. I've given him medicine and sent him back to bed. I imagine he is going to go to work regardless of how he feels, but all he is going to do is be miserable and spread the flu. I can almost guarantee that is what he has. I mean after both kids were sick with it. Ya know.

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

No! No! No! No! No!

Back hurts.
Head hurts.
Throat hurts.
Stuffy nose.
Itchy eyes.
No fever (That's good.........right?)

I CANNOT be getting sick. I don't need to miss anymore days of work AND I'm only 10 days from flying to Boston to see Bon Jovi. I refuse to be getting sick!! Denial will keep me well. I'm sure of it.

I am back!!

Did ya miss me? Or did you even realize I was gone? The laptop was delivered today complete with a new keyboard. It's nice to have it back and be online again. I sure missed blogging and my message boards. I'm sure my loyal readers (all 3 of them) will be glad to get some new stuff up here.

All that said.........not much going on around here. Both kids have been sick. Ari had what I think (I say "think" because we got her into the doctor 4 days after she started getting sick since we were in Florida when it started and she tested negative for the flu) was the flu last week. We had 8 days of fevers of 103+. We were fever free in the house for less than 24 hours and Joshua woke up with on Saturday with a fever of 103.4. Yeah I was not happy. I got him into the doctor that morning and he tested positive for the flu. The doctor prescribed Tamiflu and boy does it work. He hasn't run much of a fever since he started taking it. Heck on Sunday he didn't have one at all. He had a low grade one today, but right now he doesn't have one and he is running around like his normal crazy self. They want him out of school for the entire week though. Umm, do you know how hard that is? Both of us work so we are taking turns either going in late or leaving early.

I'm in the process of filling out teaching applications for Florida and emailing principals. I hope to get positive responses from the emails in the next couple days. I wanted to go down during spring break, but mom is going to be on a cruise for most of my break and so I wouldn't have anywhere to stay. I'll see what happens. If I get positive responses from the principals I've contacted then I'll end up going down for a few days anyway.

I am just under 2 weeks from flying up to Boston to go to a Bon Jovi concert. I'm very excited!! I'll be sure to post pictures when I get home.

We just made a short trip to Florida on President's Day weekend. My aunt and uncle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and we had a surprise party for them. It was a blast. I love getting together with my family. It is never boring. I'll post some pictures of that a little later. I have to upload them from the camera. I was a little upset. I bought a new camera for me and I forgot to take extra batteries. Mine died in the middle of the party so I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted. Oh well, I'm sure I'll be able to get other family members to email me some.

This school year is flying by. I can't believe we are 2 weeks away from spring break. Then only 9 more weeks until summer vacation. I'm loving kindergarten. It took awhile for me to realize it though. It's hard. Very hard. I've taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades. Kindergarten is by far the most difficult. I love those little guys though.

So, how have y'all been?

Another problem with moving?

Finding a place to live. It is expensive down there. Much more than here. I'm sure we will have to rent either an apartment or a house for awhile once we get there. That isn't a huge deal, but I would really prefer to have a house of our own. One with a nice fenced in back yard for the kids and the dog to play in. I wonder if I could talk my brother into buying a house and using it as a rental property investment. That would put to rest some of my worries. He could buy the house and we could live there for a reasonable rent. He is only in town every other weekend anyway and doesn't really need a house. Wishful thinking? Yeah probably, but a girl can hope can't she? ;-)

The moving discussion continues

I really want to move back home this summer. I love Nashville, but I need to be closer to my family. I miss my mom and my brother. There are problems with that though. It is going to cost us a lot of money to move all of our stuff and right now we don't have it. I like the change in seasons and moving to Florida I won't get that. Michael will be far away from his family then. That makes me feel guilty. Along with all of those problems.....................I hate moving. It stresses me out. I hate packing and loading the truck. If we do end up moving, this time I want to hire someone to do it for us. Too bad I can't call mover NYC. They could do it for us. Wonder if there is one in Nashville. LOL

Oh, I almost forgot!

The new book, The Sneaky Chef, is a hit!! In the past couple weeks my kids have eaten carrots, sweet potatoes, beans, squash, and spinach and they had no clue!!! The recipes are really easy and quick. Michael has even eaten some of them and not realized it. I made some 'breakfast ice cream' the other night and it is delicious. I made strawberry and banana. I think next time I'm going to try chocolate so Joshua will try it. I highly recommend this book if you have kids who refuse to eat vegetables. I'm feeling like a much better mommy now. Whew!

What do you wear to sleep in?

I'm having a discussion with some ladies at work. One is a little..............ummmm.........well, she is very nice, but she is a little 'uppity' if you know what I mean. Anyway, we were talking about shopping and she said that she had to go buy some new lingerie. Of course this interests us because well you know women do secretly enjoy talking about sex. Well, come to find out this wasn't for some fun with her husband. She only sleeps in lingerie. No t-shirts for her. What? Really? I live in my t-shirts. No chemises for me. Is it just me? Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy wearing lingerie on ocassion, but mostly I'm going for comfort. I can't stand for anything to be around my legs when I'm sleeping. It drives me nuts and I end up changing in the middle of the night.

Tell me I'm not the only one who sleeps regularly in t-shirts.

This no computer thing really is killing me.

I know that I have an addiction. I freely admit it. My question is.....................do they have computer rehab? They have drug rehab to help you get over a drug addiction. I've decided that they need to have something for us computer addicts. What did we do before the internet? I'm sure there was something. I do know that I've read more books in the last 2 weeks than I have in quite awhile. I've also gotten more done around the house. Not that it is incredibly clean, but it does look a little better than usual. LOL

Seriously though. I'm going through withdrawals. I walk around the house aimlessly trying to figure out how to pass the time. It's sad. *sigh*

I need a new recliner

Yep. I have come to the very sad conclusion that my living room furniture is on it's last leg. The couch is horribly uncomfortable, but I do have to say that it has always been that way.......unfortunately. Now, however, it is just dirty. Between the two kids and the dog there is just no hope for it. My recliner? Well, it won't even recline anymore. Looks like there are some screws missing or something. The cushioning has shifted and it kinda bows when you sit on the edge of the seat. I need one of those zero gravity recliners. Now that would be nice. Ahhh, heaven.

Where are you?

I'm sure you are all asking that question.

Well, our laptop died. Two weeks ago. Yep, I'm going completely insane. This is the first time I've actually been able to get to the library and get online. I can only do limited stuff at work and blogging isn't one of the things. I'm now patiently (or not so much) waiting on our taxes to come in so we can get another computer. I'm not sure how long that is going to take though. Until then I guess I'm stuck with the library. Only problem there is that I have to wait for Michael to be off work. I can't bring the kids here and play on the computer too. They would be running around wrecking havoc on poor unsuspecting library goers. We would be kicked out within minutes. LOL

Please cross your fingers that our taxes come back quickly and we can get back online. I don't know how much more I can take. ;-)

She cracks me up!

You never know what you are going to find when you go into her room when she naps or goes down for the night. The first pic was taken during naptime. She was all wrapped up. The next one was last night. She didn't go to bed with a princess dress and tights on, but when I checked on her that is what I found.

Did I find a solution?

As you know, I've been struggling with my children and getting them to eat anything remotely good for them. Heck, getting them to eat anything period. Well, I went out and bought a book. The Sneaky Chef by Missy Chase Lapine. I made up some purees and breading earlier today and tried my first recipe tonight. I made crispy chicken strips and macaroni & cheese. Both had pureed veggies in them and both were a hit!! Ari ate the strips without comment. She doesn't eat mac & cheese though so she didn't try that one. Joshua ate strips (this was a fight, but only because he didn't want chicken) and the mac & cheese without comment. I was most worried about the macaroni & cheese with the pureed veggies. I just knew that my pickiest eater was going to taste the difference. I didn't make it homemade tonight, but out of a box. I put in the puree and I added some extra shredded cheese (as advised in the book) to help cover the taste of the veggies. Well, apparently it worked. Joshua ate all of it. I tasted the mac & cheese and you really couldn't taste a difference. I ate the chicken strips myself and they were pretty good.

I'm very excited! Granted this is just two recipes, but they worked! My kids ate their normal dinner, but this time they had veggies too and didn't even know it! I'll definitely be trying other recipes out of this book. I'll let y'all know how they work!

I think I'm going to try to make some fruit popsicles tomorrow. I bought frozen blueberries, strawberries, and cherries yesterday and I'm going to make the juice from them then put them in some molds. Much healthier than the popsicles that my kids eat every night after dinner.

Ari's princess wardrobe is here

My daddy, Ari's and Joshua's Papaw, came over today. For Christmas he built her a wardrobe for all of her princess dresses. It's really cute. Ari loves it. She has been playing in it all day. So far we haven't had a chance to get her dresses in it though. LOL She's not out of it long enough. This could be a problem. ;-)

Electronically challenged

Yep, that's me. As much time as I spend on the computer and watching TV you would think that I'd know a little bit about them. They are, after all, my favorite forms of entertainment. Yet I know very little about either one. For example, just the other day I had to have IT come in and look at my computer at work. They told me that all I needed was a new Cat 5 cable. Ummmm, yeah........ok. Luckily they didn't need ME to actually go out and get one. LOL It being their job, they had one and were able to fix my computer. I'm just glad it works again and I didn't have to figure out how to do it. ;-)

I love jewelry.

*sigh* Yeah, I really do love jewelry. My favorites are rings and earrings. Okay, so I like necklaces too. LOL There aren't many forms of jewelry that I don't like. I've been looking lately for a Mother's Ring. I want one with Joshua's, Ari's, and Christian's birthstones in it. I can't find a design that I like though. I have, however, found several other pieces of gemstone jewelry that I really like! I prefer the blue sapphires. That is my birthstone, but it also makes the prettiest rings. I would love to get a new sapphire ring or earrings. I have to build up my collection again. All my jewelry was stolen last year.

I wanted to do that.

Not too long ago I went to my cousin's wedding. She got married outside at an old grits mill. It was gorgeous and the weather was perfect even though it was very hot. When Michael and I were planning our wedding we talked about having it outside at the beach. We got married on Amelia Island. We put a lot of thought in whether or not to actually do it. It was going to be in August after all and if you've ever been to Florida in August you know our dilemma. It was either going to be excruciatingly hot or a summer storm was going to develop at the most inopportune time or both. LOL I had a really nice dress that would have been okay for an August outside wedding. It was light and flowy. It was still hot though!! The dresses for my girls were light and flowy too so they would have been fine. The guys, however, did not have the correct beach wedding attire for such a hot day. They had regular ol' tuxes. They would have been much better (even in our church wedding.............it was HOT) with something like this.

They probably would have needed it in cream though to be cooler. I think I would have been barefooted as would my girls. The guys too actually. I'm sure it would have been great. If we had decided on the beach wedding. We didn't though. We had a church wedding and I don't regret it at all. It was hot hot hot and as I thought we had a summer storm earlier in the day. I would have been completely freaking out if we had gone with the beach idea. LOL As it was I just smiled and knew that we had made the right decision. Weather in Florida is so unpredictable it is better to be safe than sorry. LOL

I'm worried about my kids

They are just not eating. It's a struggle every night to get them to eat even a little bit. Even their favorites. I've tried to get them to at least drink some V-8 (the strawberry and kiwi kind), but it's not a favorite. Ari will drink small amounts and Joshua just flat out refuses to drink it. Joshua has me the most worried at the moment. He lost 6 pounds in about a month and he has dark circles under his eyes. This really really bothers me. What can I do to get them to eat? I've tried the whole cook and let them eat or not. They are more stubborn than me apparently. They refused to eat and I couldn't do it for more than a couple days. I just couldn't. Any thoughts or advice? Please? My kids need to eat!!!

This is a fabulous song

And then you put his voice to it and wow. Just wow.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Bon Jovi singing "Hallelujah."

You should really go check it out.

Here are the lyrics:

I heard there was a secret chord
that David played and it pleased the lord
but you don't really care for music do ya
Well it goes like this the fourth the fifth
the minor fall and the major lift
the baffled king composing hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
you saw her bathing on the roof
her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
she tied you to a kitchen chair
she broke your throne and she cut your hair
and from your lips she drew the hallelujah.

Hallelujah,hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Baby I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor
You know, I used to live alone before I knew you
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
and love is not a victory march
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah,hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Well there was a time when you let me know
what's really going on below
but now you never show that to me do you
but remember when I moved in you
and the holy dove was moving too
and every breath we drew was hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Well maybe there's a god above
but all I've ever learned from love
was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
it's not somebody who's seen the light
it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah

It's BCS Championship time and I don't even care.

How sad is that? I couldn't care less about the game tonight. LSU. OSU. I have no interest in watching. And it doesn't have a thing to do with being bitter. I just don't care. It's really sad if you think about it. I'm a huge college football fan and I don't care who wins this game. Very unusual for me too.

Maybe I'll just go watch Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom to make myself feel better.

I ended up watching the 4th quarter. I just couldn't NOT watch some of it. I still didn't really care who won though.

LSU won (38-24). Did this surprise anyone? I know it didn't surprise any of the SEC fans out there. LOL

So for this bowl season the SEC is 7-2. Not bad for our conference.

Congrats to the Bayou Bengals!

Great! Just great!

The hits just keep coming today. *sigh*

Got a letter today saying that our personal information may have been stolen. Yep, we are Davidson County voters. I knew this from the news, but it just brings it home getting an official letter.

Of course I read this letter AFTER I have been on the phone with my insurance company and a local hospital disputing a bill. I was told in August by the hospital to disregard the bill. This after a 3 hour conversation between me, the insurance company, and the hospital. Well, now I get a letter saying that we owe them $758 and since I haven't paid them they are turning it over to collections. Of course I call my insurance company and they now say it is out of their hands and between me and the hospital. I call the hospital and they say they are sorry I was misinformed, but I do owe the money. Ugh!!! I'm ticked!! I was told to disregard the damn bill!!! Now they are not turning it over to collections and will set up a payment plan. Umm, whatever. I hate insurance companies and hospitals!!

Now I have a migraine from hell. I just want to crawl under a rock.

Michael said it best.

"Stupid Titans"

Not much more to say. Except maybe our offense sucked all year. VY definitely struggled in his sophomore year. I do expect better next year though.

Tattoos

I'm sure most of you know that I have one. It is the face of a white tiger. Recently I've been thinking that I want a few more. Yes a few. LOL I never thought I would say that. I have no idea of the designs though. That is were I run into problems. I want something for my Dawgs and Titans. I want something for Bon Jovi. I want something that represents my kids (no names, birthdays, etc). I also want a skull and cross bones (yeah, I've watched a lot of Pirates recently LOL). Anyone out there good at designing things like that?

Hello from the land of sinus infections

Ugh! It feels like I've been sick for forever. I went to the doctor on Monday to find out that I have a sinus infection. They put me on antibiotics and told me to take some Mucinex D and use saline spray. I did all that and I still did not get better. So, I went back to the doctor today. The gave me 2 shots (yeah that went over real well with the needle phobe!!). One was an antibiotic shot to boost the pills I've been taking and the other was a steroid shot. Ummm, can I just say that those hurt like a bitch!! It hurt going in and it still hurts almost 12 hours later. They also increased my oral antibiotics to 3 a day instead of 2. I have to admit that I am feeling somewhat better now. I can breathe a whole lot better already. We'll see how I do when I go to bed though. That is the true test.

Oh and not only do I have a sinus infection, but because of the antibiotics (I'm sure the women out there know where I'm going here and guys...........get ready for some TMI) I also have a yeast infection. Double ugh!!! Luckily the doctor had something for that too. I just hope that it starts working soon. These infections are incredibly annoying and it is driving me nuts at the moment.

Dawgs 41 Rainbow Warriors 10

Well, I didn't expect that. I did expect us to win, but by no stretch of the imagination did I except us to do it in that fashion. It was fun to watch if you were a UGA fan. Not so much if you pulled for Hawaii. I kinda felt bad for them. They were out matched really. I wouldn't call them "overrated" like some of the UGA fans were chanting (that ticked me off-------it was classless and undeserved. They are a good team for where and who they play. I mean heck their QB holds many many NCAA records and they were undefeated.......the only on in the nation. Give them some respect. I'll get off my soap box about that now). We were just bigger and faster. Our defense was one like they had not seen. Not many teams can hold up against an SEC team (we won't talk about the two SEC teams who have lost their bowl games this year...........Arkansas lost to Missouri [I thought Missouri deserved to be in next week's game really] and the Gators lost to Michigan [can't say that it REALLY disappoints me. They are the hated Gators after all.] ). UGA, Tennessee, Miss. State, Alabama, Kentucky, and Auburn all won though. I'm expecting LSU to win as well (do you realize that we have 9 of our 12 teams in bowl games?).

I really did feel bad for Hawaii though. I'm a sucker for the underdog. LOL If they had not been playing my beloved Dawgs I would have been pulling for them in their bowl game.

Let's move on to some of last night's stats:

1. Stafford was 14 of 23 for 175 yards and 1 TD (6 different receivers).
2. T. Brown ran for 73 yards on 19 carries and 1 TD.
3. K. Moreno ran for 61 yards on 9 carries and 2 TDs.
4. R. Brown had a kick return for 90 yards (that was fun to watch).
5. Coutu kicked 2 field goals (52 and 45 yards)

Our offense was not the story of the night though. Our defense dominated! They were swarming all over the field and in the back field more often than not. We sacked Brennan 8 times and we had 4 picks! We even recovered a fumble (Howard sacked Brennan and recovered the fumble) in the end zone for a TD. Marcus Howard won the MVP award. It's the first time a defensive player has won MVP since 1979. Way to go Marcus!!

Over all it was a great game for the Dawgs. I'm definitely looking forward to next year!!

Go here, here, and here to read more.

Well, it is 2008

Not a bad start so far. My house is clean, the kids are getting along, and I'm watching some pretty interesting bowl games. I swore that I wasn't going to watch any except for the Sugar Bowl, but I just can't help myself. I love football to much. Tonight is the big game though. My Dawgs and the Rainbow Warriors. I can't wait!!!

The one bad thing is that I'm still sick. I went to the doctor yesterday and I have a sinus infection. She gave me some antibiotics and a recommendation for some OTC stuff to help with the congestion until the other meds start working. I really hate not being able to breathe. It's incredibly frustrating.

I hope everyone had a great time last night and stayed safe.
