Well, tomorrow is the day.

The Sugar Bowl. I have refrained from talking too much about it. I was a little disappointed that UGA didn't get into the BCS Championship game, but upon further thought I realized/admitted that we really didn't belong there. We didn't win our conference. Do I think that the 2 teams who are going belong there? Can't say that I do. I really think that college football needs at least a 4 team playoff and maybe even an 8 team.

I'm not disappointed with the Sugar Bowl. I think it is going to be a good game. I think that Hawaii is going to give my Dawgs a little more trouble than a lot of people think. I'm pretty confident that we will win, but I'm not so sure that it will be an easy win. It depends a lot of which UGA team comes out in New Orleans. Will it be the team from the beginning of the year or will it be the team from the end? I'm hoping with the black jerseys and the "blackout" from the fans the team will come out with the same emotion/intensity they showed against Auburn.

You know where I'll be tomorrow night. I have thought about live blogging the game like I did last year, but it probably won't happen. I will, however, get a post up very soon after the game. LOL Good or bad.

GOOOOO DAWGS!!!!

An oldie, but a goodie

Joshua got a long time favorite toy of mine and Michael's and even Christian's for Christmas. It is fast becoming one of his favorites too. All that said, I can see why my mom hated them! Ugh!! I just know that I'm going to end up stepping on one of these dang things in the middle of the night.

Ari got a haircut!

Here she is before.

And here she is after.

Here's one just for good measure!

Happy New Year!!

No big plans for our household tonight. Michael is working. The 17 year old is going out with some friends (Lord please keep him safe tonight!!). The other 2 kids are going to bed at their regular time. I'm going to watch some football, listen to some music (watch my new Bon Jovi Lost Highway DVD), and drink a few. Not too many though. I'm home alone with the kids. Can't get crazy. Damn! ;-)

I hope everyone has a Happy and Safe New Year!!

Bring on 2008!!

This one will embarrass the kid one day! LOL

I swear we have the worst poop problems with the 4 year old. For some reason he hates to go poop. It is a fight every night. If I do let him off the potty without going the next day is just torture. He doesn't eat right anyway and definitely doesn't get enough fiber so sometimes it is difficult when he goes regularly, but if he misses just one then it is hell. It is driving me nuts!! Why is it so difficult to get him to go? Anyone else have this problem with their little ones? What did you do to make it easier for them? I would hate to think that he would need a colon cleanse before he is 10 years old. LOL

Maybe we need a different kind of bed for him

Right now Joshua has a bunk bed. The bottom is a futon (full size) and the top is just a twin regular mattress. The top bunk scares me. Both kids love to climb up there and watch TV. My fear is, of course, that they are going to fall off and break something or since we don't have a mattress up there yet (yeah, bad parents) one is going to have a leg fall through the bars and get seriously hurt that way. So far there have been no incidents, but I have this feeling. Ya know? I'm thinking that maybe we should just get him one of the regular platform beds. It would at least be somewhat safer. LOL

More pictures of the kids

Sweet Ari

Does he look older than 4 or what?

A little breezy in Florida.

A new year is about to begin.

Another year to reach those goals. I seem to make this goal for myself every year, but I inevitability fail. I'm not sure why though. I have such good intentions. It is incredibly frustrating. I'm going to try it again in 2008 even if I do fail. I hate to keep trying. I do not like the way I look. My weight is a major issue for me. I've tried diet pills and they usually don't work. I've heard some good things about hoodia, but I don't think I'm going to use anything like that. I think I'm going to go on the diabetic diet my OB put me on when I was pregnant with the kids (I had gestational diabetes with both). I lost weight in the beginning of my pregnancies so I'll try that first. I wish I had some kind of treadmill at home though. That would make things a little easier. *sigh*

So, wish me luck!!

Did ya miss me?

Or did you even notice I was gone? LOL We went to Florida for Christmas. I love going home, but I sure do hate the drive. Ugh!! We left on Sunday night at midnight. I drove most of the way. Luckily I got to sleep for a few hours before we left. We just got back last night. I drove the entire way. I prefer to drive. LOL I can only blame myself if I get pulled over for driving too fast. It works better that way. ;-)

We had a blast. The kids love going to see their Namma and Aunt Mimi. Joshua wanted to know when Aunt Mimi's house was going to be closer to ours and how we were going to move her house since it was so heavy. He decided that we would need everyone's help, but the problem is that everyone is not always there. LOL

Here are some pics from Christmas.

Joshua waiting patiently for more presents.

Ari's favorite gift. Her blue (Cinderella) princess dress and shoes.

The 4 year old carefully opening a gift.

More Christmas wishes

We can't afford it, but I would love to get a new plasma TV. My dad has one hanging over his fireplace. It is fabulous. I love watching movies at his house. He has surround sound to go with it. The only problem is I don't think I would want it hanging on our apartment wall. I'm not sure the apartment people would want it up there either. LOL We would have to have a plasma tv lift to put it on. I could definitely handle that. Anyone want to donate to the cause? ;-)

Are we ever going to get real snow?

I love snow. I really really do. The problem is I live in the south and we seldom get snow. At least not real snow anyway. We get a couple inches, but nothing like the New England states or the Northwestern States. I want to visit Montana during the winter. I want at least a week where I have to wear some of this very warm volcom clothing. I have no reason to wear it here in Tennessee. *sigh* We got about 9 inches a few years ago when I was pregnant and I loved every minute of it. It took over 5 hours to get home from work when it would usually take about 20-30 minutes. I still loved it. LOL Yes, I do realize I am weird.

An evening at Opryland Hotel

I took the kids to Opryland tonight to see the Christmas lights. Truthfully I was a little disappointed. The outside lights were nice, but the decorations inside were lacking. The North Pole scene that they usually have on the Magnolia side was not there. The little elves that they usually have hidden in the foliage were nowhere to be found. I did get a couple good pictures of the kids though.

Okay, I need to get serious!

Yes, I realize that I say this often and then nothing really happens/changes. LOL I really do NEED to get serious about this weight loss thing though. I would love to have a treadmill or one of those ellipticals at home. It would be so much easier to use one at home rather than find child care to do it someplace else. With Michael working second shift he isn't home to keep them when I could actually find the time to go out. If I had one at home, I could set it in the living room so I could watch TV while I worked out. The kids could play in their rooms and with it sitting right there I would be guilted into doing it even if I didn't feel like it. LOL

Christmas Meme

I've been tagged by Sista Smiff.

1. Wrapping or gift bags? I prefer bag just b/c I'm lazy and they are easier. I like to unwrap presents though. LOL

2. Real or artificial tree? We have an artificial tree, but I prefer real. I just don't like the cleanup involved with a real one.

3. When do you put up the tree? Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving.

4. When do you take the tree down? Usually the weekend after Christmas.

5. Do you like eggnog? Nope

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Man, I can't remember. I do remember one year getting several baby dolls and that same year I got a cowgirl outfit complete with cap guns. I loved baby dolls, but I was mostly a tomboy.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? No, I didn't put out a lot of our decorations this year. Just didn't have the room.

8. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Can't remember.

9. Mail or email Christmas cards? I mail Christmas cards with the kids' picture on them.

10. Favorite Christmas Movie? Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

11. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I usually start in September/October buying one thing a week. I hate rushing around trying to buy gifts at the last minute.

12. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? cornbread dressing, divinity, pumpkin pie, collard greens

13. Clear lights or colored on the tree? We have white lights.

14. Favorite Christmas song? Santa Claus is Watching You by Ray Stevens. LOL

15. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Since my family lives so far away we are usually traveling during Christmas.

16. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer. Yep.

17. Angel on the tree top or a star? This year it is a Santa hat. I couldn't find my star.

18. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning? Christmas morning.

19. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Irritable people out shopping.

20. Do you decorate your tree in any specific theme or color? I have mostly snowmen on the tree, but no specific color. I let the kids put the ornaments on this year. It was hard giving up control. LOL

21. What do you leave for Santa? Usually milk and cookies, but I've been known to leave him chips and beer. LOL

22. Least favorite holiday song? There isn't one that I absolutely hate really.

23. Favorite ornament? My UGA ornaments (all of which I put at the top of the tree this year so they wouldn't get broken or lost.)

Ahhh, more Christmas gift frustration

Why are men so hard to buy for? I mean really. I don't think I'm that hard to buy for. I have a hard time figuring out what to get for the men in my life though. All of them. They won't give me a list either. They all say, "Don't worry about getting me anything." Ugh!!! That drives me completely insane!!! Just tell me what you want already! I think I'm going to get them all a pair of silver cufflinks. They can all use them and if they aren't the "fun" gift they were hoping for they have no one to blame but themselves. LOL

I appreciate it.......

I really do. In my classroom I have a nice TV with a VCR, but it didn't have a DVD player. Our PTO bought me a new DVD player at the beginning of the year. Only problem is...................my TV is old and the DVD player won't hook up to it. It won't hook up through the VCR either. *sigh* Now I need them to get me one of these HDMI splitters so I can hook it up and watch more recent movies when we need to stay in at recess or have an educational DVD to watch. I only have a few kid movies on video tape and many on DVD so it would be so helpful to have a DVD player that worked.

I hate being sick!

Ugh!! One thing about being a teacher is that I am constantly exposed to sickness. And teaching kindergarten makes it worse. These little guys are so loving and are always giving me hugs. I try to have them wash their hands often. It just isn't enough. I have a nasty cold. I keep pumping myself with drugs to make me feel better. I've taken so many different things so far and nothing is working. If I'm not careful I'll have to check myself into a drug rehab program. LOL

Who took my sweet children and replaced them with these hellions?

O....M....G!!! They are driving me insane!! Between the sunscreen thing then the toothpaste and now the just plain not listening I am about ready to pinch their little heads off. Today they have been running and screaming all over the house. Completely ignoring me when I tell them to stop. They are fascinated with the bathroom and the kitchen. Both places get them in trouble. Right now they are in quiet time and they are far from quiet. They won't even stay in Joshua's room and watch video. Ugh!!! Is it their bedtime yet?

Whoever stole my children and left these two in their place please bring them back. I don't know how much more I can take. *sigh*

music=memories for me

Right now I am sitting here listening to Motley Crue's "Girls, Girls, Girls" and the memories just keep coming. My fondest memories from that time are my step sister and I getting dressed for a night out (yeah we were all of 15 and 16). We would be in our ripped jeans and cute little shirts. My sister was able to drive (she was the 16 year old) so we would take the red convertible MG Midget out. This tape would be blaring as loud as we could get it. We would cruise the neighborhood making sure to go by the houses of the boys we had crushes on and then head out to the movie theater. No, we were usually not there to see a movie. LOL We'd cruise around there for awhile and then head to the nearest fast food restaurant to hang out with friends. The whole time Motley Crue would be blaring. We had so much fun. Ahhhh, to be 15 again.

I've since lost touch with my step sister (we are no longer sisters). We went to college together, but a falling out my senior year kind of ended our relationship. I sometimes miss that relationship and her. We fought a lot, but we had a lot of fun too. There are a lifetime of memories there. We became sisters when I was around 4 years old. It's sad when those relationships end.

I miss college football.

Yes already. It has only been 1 Saturday with no college football, but I hated it. I didn't know what to do with myself. I hate basketball and that was the only thing on yesterday. *sigh*

I think there is entirely too much time between the end of the college football season and bowl games. It can't be good for the teams. What about those teams who found a great rhythm? I'm sure they will lose some of that. What about us fans who crave college football? The NFL stuff just doesn't cut it for me. Don't get me wrong, I love NFL football too, but it is nothing compared to college. The emotion just isn't there for me most of the time.

I hate the end of college football. WAAAAAAAAH!!

Man oh man

This is a very physical game. It's pretty ugly. Heck, even Dan Dierdorf wondered if they were all in a bad mood. LOL I'd have to say yes at this point. Helmets are flying all over the place. Even L.T. got a personal foul penalty. Both starting QBs have gone down already. They both went down on run plays that they really had nothing to do with. Like I said.........ugly. Right now the score is tied in the 3rd quarter at 3. It's fun, but dang I worry about all the players involved. LOL

I'd say that even the fans are in a bad mood. I've never heard so much booing from them. They boo when we throw. They boo when we run. They boo every hit by the other team like it is an illegal hit. I'm not sure what exactly it is that they want today. LOL

Oh wow. We just had a major no call. Someone threw a horse collar tackle on Chris Brown when he went in for the TD. Score now is 10-3 Titans.

Dan Dierdorf: "Oh my gosh, it's Vanden Bosch again." LOL It does seem that #93 is all over Rivers today.

Damn, tied with 9 seconds left. Looks like overtime. I hate overtime. *sigh*

Yep going to overtime and the fans are booing again. They really need to stop that. The team really needs them at the 12th man now.

Damn. I really do hate overtime. L.T. goes in for the winning TD. 23-17 *sigh*

Sign of the times?

I swear living in the year 2007 can be so complicated. The other day I was trying to find the cable to hook my Sony Walkman up and upload some more music. Well, I had to search through all of our cables to find the right one. We have entirely too many cables. We have cables for both digital cameras. A cable for my walkman and a cable for his iPod. Cables for our phones and cables for the laptop. Everywhere I look I see cables. I can never find the right one the first time I try. LOL Of course they are all in the same place. I guess it's good that we haven't lost any of them. ;-)

"Momma, we have a surprise for you!!"

As you probably know this did not turn out well.

I go to find the munchkin who yelled this. Both kids are in their bathroom. There is sunscreen all over one (I should have gotten a picture, but I was so mad I couldn't stand it and didn't think about it). I mean ALL OVER. I couldn't get her clothes off of her without getting it in her hair all over her face and all over me. There was sunscreen covering the floor in the bathroom. I had to wash her hair 3 times to get it all out. I couldn't get the soap or the shampoo to actually lather up there was so much sunscreen.

Both kids had florescent green sharpie marker on their arms and faces. They had marker on the bathtub, toilet, walls, cabinets, and MY TOWELS!!

I bathed them, cleaned the bathroom, put the stuff in the washing machine, brushed their teeth, and put them to bed. It is an hour early, but it had to be done. Not so much for the sunscreen which is easy enough to clean, but the sharpie PERMANENT marker all over everything. I just hope that the Magic Eraser will get it out. I thought I had one left, but I'm out so it will be tomorrow before I can get one. I know it won't come out of my towels though.

I'm really upset that I didn't get pictures. They would definitely be ones I could look back on and laugh. *sigh*

Most of you know.....

I know I've mentioned it before that we are planning on moving to Florida in the next year. I'm really looking forward to going home. I miss my family. I am concerned however. I do want to buy a house when we get there. I don't mind the apartment so much, but I want a fenced in backyard for the kids to play in. The problem lies in the price of real estate. It is crazy expensive to buy a house on the island. I sometimes wonder if we should wait until we get some of our bills paid off before we make that move. I don't want to do that though. I'm ready to go home. *sigh*

Holiday blues

It's amazing how quickly something can trigger a memory. I was looking at a friend's online pictures of her daughter, nieces, and nephews helping decorate their great-grandfather's Christmas tree. It brought back so many memories for me. I used to love helping my grand parents put up their tree. They are gone now. As much as I love those memories they make me sad at this time of year. I miss them tremendously. I miss the fun I had at their house during Christmas. I miss helping my grandma bake pies and cakes, cookies and candy. I miss sitting around the huge quilting frame in the living room while she worked on a quilt. I miss sitting with my grandpa trying to coax him into letting someone take his picture. I miss taking a walk or a ride with him just to get away from the craziness of the house. It makes me incredibly sad knowing that they won't know my kids and that my kids won't know them. They would have loved each other so much.

Titans won!! 28-20

And we even got into the end zone. Not only did we get in, but we got in 4 times. Yep, it's true.

Our defense played better this week. Big ol' Albert Haynesworth was back.............thankfully! I am still trying to figure out how one person can make such a huge difference in the play of the whole. Doesn't matter anymore I guess since he is back, but it's still interesting to me. I just hope we can keep it up.

Now I have to say something to the fans. Where the hell were you? For it to be a sold out game there were a hell of a lot of empty seats. Yeah, it was raining...............so. Suck it up. It's football and that was perfect football weather if you ask me. Are you a fan or are you not? You spent money on a ticket(s) and then didn't go? What a waste. If you aren't going to show up then how 'bout you give someone else the opportunity to buy the tickets and give up your PSLs. I'm sure there are people on the waiting list who would have been there regardless of the weather or how poorly you think the Titans are playing. Whatever your reasons for not showing up there really is no excuse. Pitiful.

Maybe I'll buy some of those advertising pens that say something like "If you don't want your Titans tickets I'll take them." At least they can be sure that I would be there adding my voice to the others who show up to support their team.

The Freakin' BCS is a pile if bullshit!!

How the hell a team who lost to an unranked opponent to end their regular season, lost the #1 position not once but twice, and and then only wins the conference game because the opposing QB can't throw a damn ball makes it to the National Championship game I'll never know. I hate the BCS. We need a playoff system and this really magnifies that. I won't even get to Ohio State (they play no one EVER ). This will be one Championship game I will not watch. I refuse. I've never missed watching one in all my years of watching football. Not even when the hated Gators or UT played.

We were not the only ones who got screwed though. There were several teams who had valid points when it came to who should go. It just shows how screwed up the BCS system is. Something needs to change. It probably never will, but it sure needs to change. This is ridiculous.

Got tagged

Sassy has tagged me for a random fact meme. I'm supposed to give you 7 random facts about me. Here goes...........

1. I'm a huge UGA football fan (bet you couldn't tell that) and right now I am incredibly pissed off with the whole BCS b.s.!!! We need a playoff system in college football.

2. I have 3 kids. Two are mine by birth and the third is mine by marriage, but he is just as much mine.

3. I am a teacher. This year I am teaching kindergarten for the first time. It is fun, but definitely a challenge.

4. I hate to cook. I don't mind baking so much, but cooking everyday is is for the birds.

5. Fall is my favorite time of year. I'm not sure if it is because of the cooler weather, the beautiful colors, or football. LOL

6. I love Christmastime. I love the lights and the smells and the traditions of family.

7. I love music. My all time favorite band is Bon Jovi.

Amen brother!!

Amen!!

Oh boy!!! Oh boy!!! Oh boy!!! WE ARE IN!!!!

Okay so it isn't official yet and the possibility is there that LSU will jump us in the polls since they won the SEC Championship tonight, BUT as of right now with the #1 and #2 teams losing their games tonight that puts #3 and #4 in the National Championship game!!!!!!! Ohio State (I hate Ohio State) is #3 and my very own Georgia Bulldogs are #4. I won't get too incredibly excited until it is official, but I can't help but be dancing around tonight!!! I can't believe that I'm even able to be possibly excited about this!! Who would have thought this would be happening after the loss to Tennessee? This is incredible!!! Please please please don't let LSU jump us!!!

Someone talk me down so that I'm not horribly disappointed when we get screwed out of this game!!!!!!

Oh and can I just say to the damn Vols!! Why the hell can't you pull it out when I need for you to? I mean really. You can pull out incredibly close games to make it to Atlanta and then choke when you get there. Dammit! See if I ever pull for you to win again. Thanks for nothing!

The 17 year old came to visit this weekend.

It's always good to see him. We don't get to see him often enough these days. The kids really miss him. So do Michael and I. I'm glad he came to see us.

Look what we did today!

It was a lot of fun. The kids had a blast and were so happy to have Aunt Marette's help. Bubba was also here to help. It doesn't look exactly like the picture, but I think we did a great job.

Who would have ever thought that one person could make such a big difference?

It just doesn't make sense. How could one person being out of the lineup make such a huge difference in the performance of the whole? Since Haynesworth has been injured our defense has absolutely sucked. We can't stop the run. We can't stop the pass. We can't stop anything or anybody. This is really really bad. When is Haynesworth going to be healthy enough to come back? Does anybody know?

Our offense can't seem to get things going either. The last couple games it's been a lot of dropped balls. It's been like watching last year's Georgia Bulldog team with all the dropped passes. It's very frustrating. I know these guys are good or they wouldn't be in the NFL, but come on. Catch the damn ball.

The game today is just plain sad/bad/ugly/pitiful. I won't even go into the penalties. Ugh!!!

Know what I hate about winter?

I hate to get into my car with leather seats in the winter time. They are freezing!! Luckily I have heated seats in my van, but it is still cold getting into the car in the winter.

On the other hand, I don't like getting in during the summer either. Especially with leather seats. There is no way to cool them off and when you are wearing shorts.............well you know how that goes. I have found these very cool things that help cool the interior off while sitting in the hot sun, a car fan. It's solar powered and supposedly keeps the car 30 degrees cooler than it would be without it. This could be a good thing. I may have to try it out.

I feel for those football players......I really do.

They take a lot of abuse. Both physical and verbal. Football fans sure can be fickle. Then they've got 250+ pound men coming at you at full speed. Has to make for a very hard night. I tell you, if I were related/married to one of those guys I would be getting as many life insurance quotes as I possibly could. LOL What they do is dangerous! I'd be getting some long term disability insurance too. I've seen too many football players suffer career ending injuries. I certainly hope that those guys and their families are protected.

Ouch!!

One of the Auburn defenders just got bit (bitten?) on the hand by a K-9 dog in the end zone. Ouch!! Seems that no dogs like the Tigers/War Eagles. LOL I knew Uga didn't, but apparently it isn't just him. LOL

31-17 UGA

Well that is a relief. We beat Tech for the 7th straight year. Whew! I was worried there for awhile. I'll post some stats later. Right now I'm too tired. Stafford, Massaquoi, Bailey, and Brown all had pretty good games. Moreno couldn't get things going tonight, but that's okay. He's had a fantastic year and he is only a freshman. The coming years are going to be a lot of fun!! Now we are done until our bowl game. Right now they are predicting that we go to the Sugar Bowl. There is still a lot of football left though so we will see how that plays out. I hate the time between the last game of the season and the bowl game though. It is never a good thing to have that much time between games.

O....M.....G!!!!

Talk about crazy games!! UK has the winning field goal blocked.

In our game Tech picks up a fumble to run into the end zone only to fumble it into the end zone giving UGA a first down on the 20. I told you this is a fun season!!

Oh and UKs field goal attempt came after they intercepted Ainge. Did I mention that that game is in OT? 4th overtime right now.

More craziness. UGA touches the ball on a punt and it rolls into the end zone. There is a fight over the ball and UGA end up with it.............touch back. Ugh!! I hate games like this!! It could have so easily been a Tech touchdown.

Well hell. UT pulled it out. Sorry Kentucky. You were so close!

I always bite my nails......

I do it during big football games. Ugh!! I swear as much as I love football I hate it just as much some days. I've been nervous about my Dawgs in today's game against Tech. We aren't playing great football, but we are not playing horribly either. Moreno can't get it going. Brown is running better today. We are down right now 14-10.

The UT/Kentucky game is getting close. I had to stop watching since it was making me mad, but the Wildcats have made a game out of it. I'll keep my eye on that one. ;-) We just have to make it through this one first. *sigh*

I'm waffling on whether or not I want to go to the SEC Championship though. Yeah, I know I should always want to go to our Championship game, but we may be better off if we win this one if we don't go to that game. If we win today we are guaranteed a BCS bowl. If we get to the SEC Championship and lose to LSU then we go to a lesser bowl. Which would I rather do? Both? LOL

Update while I was typing............16-14 Georgia (we missed the point after........ugh!)

It's college game day!!

I have to say that this year has been incredibly fun in college football. It's been a year of upsets with a few teams you don't normally see at the top of the polls. It looks like no one wants that that #1 spot. Or maybe it's just jinxed. LOL The teams riding at #1 seem to get picked off regularly this year. The latest being LSU. They were upset by an unranked Arkansas team yesterday. I won't go into my whole SEC thing here, but on any given Saturday (Friday) any SEC team can beat any other SEC team regardless of rank. ;-)

Today should be an interesting day. This being an "upset" season has me a little nervous about my Dawgs today. We play Georgia Tech (those pesky bugs). It has the potential to be an upset as we are only favored by like 3.5. Another game of note for my Dawgs is the UT/Kentucky game. We need for Kentucky to deal a knock out punch to UT so we can get to Atlanta again next week for the SEC Championship game against LSU. There is a chance with a win today by my Dawgs we can make it to the National Championship game, BUT a lot of things need to happen. I do not expect that one. If you want to see the scenarios you can go to Ching's Georgia Bulldog Blog and have a look. I'll be keeping my eye on those games though even if I don't expect it to happen. I just can't help myself. LOL

Have fun today folks. I know I will!!!

I'm with him!!

It totally ticks me off that Comcast no longer has NFL Network. Well, unless you want to pay extra for it. It's unfair. I love football and yet I am missing games because some idiot at a cable company wants to make more money. Like they don't take enough of my money just so I can watch tv already. Apparently I'm not the only one who is upset about it. Seems that Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, is not happy about it either. He is urging people to leave cable companies who no longer offer NFL Network for either their cable competitors or satellite. I think I may have to check into that myself. Anyone have any recommendations? I need a provider who does internet too since I'm spoiled with my really fast connection! LOL

I'm guessing it's too early......

After last night's loss to Denver, I'm guessing that it is too early to be reserving my Superbowl tickets, huh? LOL I'm a huge football fan. Yeah, I'm sure you didn't know that. ;-) I watch football all day on Saturday and Sunday. I even watch on Thursday and Monday. I love football season and hate it when it's over. I've been to some pretty big college games in the past. I've even been to some big NFL games. However, I've never been able to go to the Super Bowl. I would love to go to the Super Bowl. I don't think I even care who is playing (well maybe not the Colts or the Pats.........or the Ravens LOL). I think I would have a blast.

You know that "Save Mommy's Sanity" vacation I want to go on?

I'm still dreaming. LOL I think I want to go to Colorado. I've seen some really nice pictures from there recently and it just looks gorgeous. I want a cabin in the mountains with the snow falling all around. I want to sit in a luxurious robe with a cup of hot chocolate watching the snow fall. I want a romantic fire burning in the fireplace. Did I mention that I would like for my wonderful husband to be there with me? I think we both need a little time together to reconnect. I'm sure if you have kids you know all about that need.

Before we go though (I say that like it's already planned. LOL) I'd like to get some new Samsonite luggage. Why you ask? Well, we have no matching pieces. Yes that is important. We need a "set" of matching luggage. LOL And the there is the fact that I just love luggage. LOL Makes me feel like I am a world traveler to have a nice set of luggage.

Computers are really a mystery to me.

I play on a computer everyday. I have his blog and have many blogs that I read daily. I am addicted to my favorite mommy message board. But, when it comes to anything technical on this thing I am completely clueless. I am trying to figure out the whole uploading of music on my new MP3 player. I still have problems transferring pictures from the camera to the computer. I did figure it out on one of our cameras, but the other one is still a mystery to me. LOL Having said all that I have a question. I would like to find a new bigger (as in holds more pictures) memory card for our digital cameras. Will the micro sd work for that or do I need to look somewhere else?

This has to be the sexiest Bon Jovi video I've ever seen.

At least in recent memory. It is 'Till We Ain't Strangers Anymore' with Leann Rimes. You have to watch all the way to the end to get to the sexy part. ;-) O....M....G!! HOT!! Can I just say that I love that man? *sigh*

Sorry Honey! ;-)

It wasn't pretty, but it was a win.

You can't always ask for pretty wins. We didn't get one yesterday. I'm just happy we pulled it out. Our defense played really well and kept us in the game. Our offense played better in the second half, but man oh man that first half was ugly. We ended up with 4 turnovers. How we won with 4 turnovers (2interceptions 2 fumbles) I'll never know. Oh wait! Our defense! They helped out a lot there. LOL

Here are some stats from the game:
1. 283 total yards (184 rushing 99 passing)
2. Knowshon broke 100 yards again. He had 136.
3. Thomas Brown had 78 rushing yards.
4. Heck, even Stafford had 10 for a TD. LOL
5. Asher Allen had an 82 yard kickoff return to start the game (that was fun!! To bad we fumbled it before we could score).

I know I don't talk much about our defense, but I think I should start. We have a freshman who is fantastic. Rennie Curran. Yesterday he had 12 solo tackles. All year this kid just seems to be all over the place. He always knows where the ball is and it gets to it fast! If he stays healthy is going to get better and better.

I'm sure there is much more to talk about, but I've got kids demanding my attention. LOL Ahhh, the joys of parenthood. ;-)

Next up for my Dawgs......................those pesky Bees. For those of you who don't know that is the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. They are looking to ruin our season. We are looking to squash them. Should be a fun game.

Saturday, November 17, 2007

Damn!

I thought Vandy was going to pull it off. They missed a field goal right there at the end that would have won them the game and my Dawgs a trip to Atlanta for the SEC Championship. Now I guess I have to pull for Kentucky next week. Ugh! I was so hoping it would be over this weekend. *sigh*

GO WILDCATS!!

Man I love to watch this kid run!

At the start of the 4th quarter Knowshon Moreno already has over 100 yards. He is so fun to watch. Most of those yards came in the last half of the 2nd quarter and the 3rd quarter. Keep giving him the ball Coach, keep giving him the ball!!

10 minutes away from kickoff

My Dawgs play Kentucky today and we are 10 minutes away from kickoff as I type this. I have to wonder how we are going to play. It is Senior Day so the team should be hyped. Coach Richt isn't calling for anything special from the fans this week. Well other than getting in the stands early and being loud. That was never an issue when I was there..........at least for me. I was always in the stands early. LOL I refused to miss kickoff.

This game could really go either way, but considering that this should be a revenge game since they beat us last year and they beat up on our QB we should be all over these guys from the start.

This should be all the motivation our boys need. Our QB should never look like this after a game. EVER!! I hear that Coach Richt took MS to see the O line afterwards to show them. I'm sure this picture was posted in the locker room for all to see this week.

It is time!! GOOOOOO DAWGS!!!!

WOOHOO! We start with an 80+ yard kickoff return!! Way to go Asher Allen!!!

Really?

Do people really not have checking accounts these day? I've known people in the past who didn't have checking accounts, but they have since succumbed and opened one. I was talking with a friend today and she says they do not have one and haven't had one in a very long time. They have no plans to open one either. They pay for everything with cash. I just don't think I could do it. I couldn't pay bills online. I would have to go get money orders for all our bills. It is hard enough for me to find time to sit down and make out the bills I don't pay online and then go to the post office to mail them. I couldn't imagine having to find time to go get money orders on top of that. I think I'll stick with my checking account.

Exercise. I need exercise!!

I have started this so many times that I've lost count. I always start out great and then something happens. I get a cold or I hurt something or my knee starts acting up. I have to take a break and then getting started again is so difficult. Not only that, but finding the time to go do it at a gym or someplace is pretty much out. Michael works second shift so he isn't home in the evenings so I can get out. I can't take the kids with me. I cannot get into doing videos alone. I think I need to invest in a treadmill. I don't mind walking on a treadmill. I like to walk and I could even continue to do it when the weather was bad. Now if I only had the space in my house for one. *sigh*

It's getting to be that time of year.

The time for a nice fire in the fireplace. Sitting in front of a fire has always been on of my favorite things to do during the winter. It just reminds me so much of home. My grandparents didn't have central heat and air. I remember lying in bed waiting for my grandfather to go start a fire before braving the cold myself to make the trek to the living room. In those days you started fires with kindling and real wood. When I was a little older they came out with the gas logs. Those were nice and easy with no clean up. As a teenager I liked those better just because I was pretty lazy and while I still loved to sit in front of a fire I didn't like the clean up that went along with it. Now they have thia really cool thing called fire glass. It is really pretty and still low maintenance, but you know I think I prefer the real wood thing. LOL The smell. The memories it evokes. The only problem is................I'm still pretty lazy and don't want to deal with the clean up. LOL

I'm still in need of a vacation

I'm thinking someplace close though. I'd love to go to Vegas, but I just don't think it's doable. Something closer is definitely in order. Maybe someplace like Branson Missouri. It's not that far from here and there is a lot to do. I could go see some of the great country music stars from long ago. You know, the ones I grew up listening to. They also have a great theme park in Silver Dollar City. I love roller coasters so when on vacation it's always a plus to find a place that has one.

So, I'm still taking donates for the "Save Mommy's Sanity" fund. Care to contribute? ;-)

You come. Your read. You leave. But........

You don't leave comments. I've had more hits on my blog in the last 3 days than I've ever had. On Sunday I had over 300 hits. I've never had that many in one day. They all came from searches for UGA/Auburn blackout pictures. I posted a link to some good ones from the AJC. The only problem with all those visits is that no one (okay almost no one) left me a comment. No, I don't write this thing for comments, but you would think with that many people looking in someone would say hi. LOL

Even if you don't leave a comment...................welcome and enjoy. I'm not all that interesting, but hopefully you will come back. ;-)

Monday, November 12, 2007

They just look like they are having fun. I love it!!

Here is a YouTube video of highlights from Saturday's UGA/Auburn Blackout game. I can't get enough of it. LOL Not only have I watched this video a couple times, but I am right now watching the replay of the game on On Demand. Yes, I realize that I am nuts. ;-)

Sunday, November 11, 2007

She just looks all sweet. LOL

She really is mess. She has her sweet moments, but they come few and far between. I guess she has to be a little more.........ummmmmm........................unsweet to deal with a big brother. LOL

Here are a few great pics from yesterday's UGA/Auburn Blackout game.

You have to go here and click on "photos" to see them. I couldn't figure out how to save them to my computer so I could post individual ones. I'm still looking around for some though so you can check back later if you don't want to take the time to click. ;-) I can't promise anything though.

Dang I'm having a great night!!

Not only did my Dawgs kick ass tonight, but now I am watching Bon Jovi on A&E. I get a whole hour of Bon Jovi for free!!

It doesn't get much better!!

I love football (bet you didn't know that!! LOL)

Hee hee!! I'm just giddy! I'm so happy that we have finally beaten the hated Gators and the Tigers/War Eagles (does this annoy anyone else? LOL) in the same season. Plus we beat Auburn at home (not done often by either team..............winning at home against the other). It makes this Dawg fan a very happy girl. ;-)

Now I'm wanting to read some of my favorite UGA bloggers and they aren't posting. I know that most of them were probably at the game and are now out celebrating, but dang it............I need someone to share my elation with!!! LOL

GO DAWGS!!!

WOOHOO!!!!!! The Blackout worked!!

My Dawgs pulled this one out. I was beginning to wonder there for a few minutes. We let Auburn get ahead of us, but then scored 21 points in about a 7 minute span. The final? 45-20. This is the first time we've beat both Florida and Auburn in the same season since 1982. Yeah you read that right. It really has been that long. I'm glad that streak is over!! LOL

This was a fun game to watch. Okay, so I wasn't real happy when we let the Tigers go ahead, but overall it was fun. I kinda liked the black in Sanford Stadium and the jerseys looked good. The team looked like they were having a good time. I think I like this new Coach Richt. LOL The boys aren't the only ones who look like they are having fun out there these days.

Some stats from the game:

1. Stafford was 11 of 19 for 238 yards and 2 touchdowns.
2. Moreno was 22 for 102 on the ground with 2 touchdowns.
3. Brown was 14 for 80 on the ground with 1 touchdown.
4. Bailey had 4 catches for 96 yards with 1 touchdown.
5. Massaquoi had 1 catch for 58 yards with 1 touchdown (that one was fun.)
6. Our defense had 4 interceptions (Johnson 2, Evans 1, Flowers 1).

Unfortunately UT won there game. *sigh* Not all is lost though. They still have 2 more SEC games to go. My Dawgs still have a chance. ;-)

Wow! The fans complied and it looks great!!

As most of you know, the UGA seniors asked Coach Richt to request of the fans to wear all black for todays game. A Blackout. The fans have listened and Sanford Stadium looks awesome. It was speculated that the team would come out in black jerseys, but no one knew for sure. The ran out of the tunnel in black jerseys. They look pretty cool too. I can't get over how different it looks between the hedges right now.

Apparently the team didn't know until today that they were wearing the black jerseys.

WOOOHOOOO!! First play from scrimmage for Auburn and first play of the game...............INTERCEPTION!!!! Let's go DAWGS!!!!!!

Here is a picture of what is usually looks like between the hedges.

Here is what it looked like today between the hedges. (Sorry for the size difference. This is the only one I could find. This one I got over at the Bulldawg Blawg and they got it from FootballHuddle.net. It is a photoshopped photo. There aren't any online yet of what it actually looked like. At least none that I can find. This one is pretty darn close to what is did look like though. Pretty cool, huh? Very different than what the Dawg Nation is used to seeing. I liked it!! I prefer the red, but once in a while this would be cool.)

Even Uga was wearing black today. I don't have a picture of that though. I'll have to try and find one.

I love flowers

I've had weddings on the brain quite a bit recently. I have no idea why I've been thinking about weddings. It's not like I didn't have one. I had a very nice one. It didn't cost a lot of money, but that was because I have family members who know people. LOL I think the most expensive things in my wedding were my dress and the flowers. And of those two things the flowers were the most expensive. I didn't mind spending the money on my wedding flowers though. I love flowers and mine were beautiful.

Did I mention?

I don't think I blogged about the hell that Michael and I have gone through this past week with both kids having Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. HFM is by far the worst thing I have dealt with since becoming a parent. They get blisters on the inside of their mouths, on their hands, on their feet, and sometimes around their nether regions. It is incredibly painful. They can't eat (like my kids can afford to not eat for long periods of time...........they already don't eat much). The doctor prescribed hydrocodone for the pain. Yeah, that was my thought too. That is some major pain medicine for a 2 and 4 year old. I was really nervous about giving it to them since I am allergic to codeine myself. I gave it to them a couple of times. Ari had me cracking up when she had it. She got the giggles and was just giggling at every single thing. I couldn't stop laughing myself. I felt like a bad mommy. LOL Anyway, they are finally feeling better. Today was the first day that they were both back at school. HFM can last from 7-10 days. Michael is happy they are back so he can get some sleep now. LOL Can't say that I blame him much.

One good thing did come out of this whole horrible sickness. We are now paci free!!! Yep, her mouth hurt too much to take her paci for several days and she just hasn't asked for it since. I'm not offering either. It's not how I would have wanted to become paci free, but at least it is done.

Monday, November 05, 2007

Well that was fun

Okay so not really. I got home today with the beginnings of what I have recently diagnosed as a migraine. I lie down on the couch and all of a sudden I hear screaming from the other room. Not just any regular everyday scream, but an "I'm in major pain" scream. Joshua comes running into the living room with his hand covering his left eye. I pull the hand away to see blood dripping from a cut just under his eye. Oh boy. I get it to stop bleeding, but it is still swollen and ugly and I can't tell how deep the cut actually is. I get him some ice to put on it while I call the doctor to see what they recommend that I do. Of course they think I should bring him in. Okay that's fine. Now I have to call Michael to bring me the van with the car seats. I call the doctor back to make an appointment and they only have a 5:45pm available. No problem really...................until the storms come through. Why is it that storms always pick the worst times to hit? As we are about to walk out the door I hear that our county is under a tornado warning (side note: what the heck? This is November right?). Not only that, but there is "significant rotation" detected less than a mile from us. Needless to say we didn't leave right then. We waited until the wind died down and the tornado warning had expired. I call the doctor to let her know that we will be a little late. We finally get to her office and she looks at Joshua poor little face. She determines that it's not serious enough for stitches and doesn't really need the glue either. Luck for us, huh? She told me how to best clean the wound and we leave. He's going to be fine and probably no scar. He's very lucky that the stick (yes, I'm a bad mom. I let my kid play with sticks) he was playing with did not go into his eye when he fell. The stick is now confiscated. LOL

It is now 9:20pm and Joshua is asleep and my migraine is still present. I'm hoping that it goes away before tomorrow and that Joshua's shiner isn't too bad. I'll post a picture tomorrow. Michael took one when he got here with the van, but he also took the camera back to work with him.

I hate it when my games aren't televised.

I didn't get to watch the UGA/Troy game on Saturday. Well, I haven't watched it yet. I'll get it on On Demand one day this week though. Right now I'm having to rely on the internet to see how my boys played. We won 44-34. A win is always good. LOL Here are some other stats from the game.

1. Stafford was 17 of 29 for 217 yards. He spread the ball around too throwing to 10 different receivers.
2. Moreno rushed 26 times for 196 yards with 3 TDs. He had an 80 yard run which is the longest in 10 years. (Haven't I said it before? I love watching this kid run!!)
3. 244 rushing yards total.
4. Moreno became the first freshman running back at UGA since Hershel Walker to run for 1000 yards in his freshman year.
5. Our defense had 2 interceptions.

Looks like it was a pretty good game. Lots of fumbles though. I'll watch one day this week and see for myself.

On another football note.................did anyone see the Arkansas/South Carolina game? OMG!! That Darren McFadden is one heck of a runner!! He racked up 323 yards. Yes, folk that was in one game. That is an SEC record. He also helped himself in the Heisman race with that performance. I have to say that I'm glad we don't have to play them this year. LOL

Next up for UGA? We have Auburn. I have to say that I'm not overly confident about this game. Odds are against us for a win. For one we are playing at home. With this series the away team has a tendency to win. I don't understand that and it is very frustrating. We also haven't beat both Florida and Auburn in the same season in a very long time. I'm hoping that we can pull it off though and of course that the Vols lose big time or just by one. Heck I don't care how they lose as long as they do. LOL

Friday, November 02, 2007

Yay!! It's the weekend!!

I have to say that as a teacher I hate the week of Halloween. The days leading up to the holiday are crazy because the kids are so excited. The days following the holiday are crazy because the kids are all hyped up on sugar. It makes for a week from hell classroom management wise. I didn't know if any of us would make it through today. I'm tired now. I'm also feeling somewhat overwhelmed with kindergarten. It's a huge long story that I will save for another day, but I will say that kindergarten is hard.

Whine, cry, fight, scream

That is all I've heard since I got home from school today. I'm not sure what is up with my children, but for hours all they have done is fight. Joshua will hit Ari. Ari will scream and cry. Joshua will whine when I put him in time out. When he gets out of time out they repeat the whole thing. They are driving me crazy. I know that it is mostly due to them being out of school all this week sick and only having each other to play with, but I swear if I hear one more scream or whine I am going to snap. I think I need to book one of those really nice Las Vegas hotels and go on a vacation. Anyone want to donate to the "Save Mommy's Sanity" fund?

Well that sucks!

Makes me sad at the same time. Seems that Marcus Stroud may be facing a 4 game suspension for violating the NFL's steroid policy. He failed the first test, but has requested that a second test be done. He isn't commenting much on the situation and neither is the Jags coach nor the NFL. I just hope that this second test comes back negative and all is well. I would hate to see one of my UGA boys fall to stuff like that.

I'll update when I find more information.

It sure does feel good!!

I'm talking about the Dawgs taking a big bite out of some Gator tail in Jacksonville on Saturday. I'm still giddy!!

Coach Richt is catching a lot of slack for that whole team celebration in the end zone. I think it was a good call. It fired up a team that has been in desperate need of firing up in recent years. Especially in this game. I don't feel that it was intentionally disrespectful to the Gators (if they want to take it that way then that is their problem). I don't think it was about the Gators at all. It was about the Dawgs and them going out with attitude and having a little bit of fun. It was about emotion. We needed that. I just hope that it carries over for a long long time.

Here is a little clip of it if you care to watch. It is all over the UGA blogs out there so I'm not sure where it originated from, but I got it at The Bulldawg Blawg. Enjoy it. I sure do. ;-)

I have to say that this is the first UGA/FL game I've really enjoyed watching in awhile. It's always fun to watch when your team wins, but it was more than that. It looked like they were having fun and there was so much emotion. I love that. I've missed that.

Want to know some stats? Here ya go:
1. 196 rushing yards (Knowshon Moreno carried 33 times for 188 yards)
2. 217 passing yards (Stafford was 11 of 18 and had one for 84 yards to Massaquoi)
3. We sacked Tebow 6 (yes count them........6) times!! He had only had 5 sacks on the year coming into this game............way to go defense!!
4. 19 first downs
5. 10 of 13 on third down conversions (I'm really liking that percentage)
6. We scored every time we entered the red zone (4 for 4)

I think this one one of the best games we've played this year.

I just read today that Knowshon was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week. He's already been named SEC Freshman of the Week twice this year. I've said it before, but dang he is fun to watch and I sure hope we have him for 3 more years!! Go here to vote for him for Freshman of the Year.

To my boys and to Coach Richt.................congratulations and thank you! You've brought the swagger back. ;-)

IT'S GREAT TO BE A GEORGIA BULLDOG!!!

I SAID IT'S GREAT TO BE A GEORGIA BULLDOG!!!!

WOOHOOO!!!!! GEORGIA 42 GAYTORS 30!!!!! WOOHOOOOO!!! TEBOW WHO?

I so want to be in Jacksonville tonight!! I'm sure it is a huge party!

I'll have to blog about the game later. Right now I'm too hyped up to sit still long enough to do it. I have to gather my thoughts. I do have to say though that I wasn't really sure about that whole rushing the end zone thing after the first touchdown, but it seems to have worked and fired up the Dawgs. Good call coach. ;-)

April 24, 2008

Do you know what you will be doing that night? I do!! I'll be at the GEC (okay so it is now the Sommet Center, but I like GEC better). What will I be doing there? I'm so glad you asked!! I will be spending the evening with Bon Jovi!! Yep, the new tour dates have been announced and they will be in Nashville on April 24. I can't wait!!!! I'm giddy!! Yes, I realize I'm incredibly sad. LOL I've made hotel reservations for downtown and I've already decided to take the next day off from work. Can't very well go out after the concert and be at my best with 17 five year olds the next day. LOL I have a friend coming into town from Boston for the concert too. This will be the first time I get to go with someone who loves them as much as I do. Hee hee!! I'm so excited!!!

Not 100% child free, but.......

I'm down by 50%. Seems that one of my children would rather be at PaPaw's house than at home with his parents and his sister. Joshua got to make the two and a half hour drive after school today to see his PaPaw. Grandma stopped by the school to pick him up. Now he will be at their house until I go get him on Saturday. What does that mean for the remaining child? Well, now she can play with whatever she wants with no worries that her older brother is going to take it away from her. She gets to watch whatever she wants at quiet time. She gets exclusive mommy and daddy time. I think she will enjoy a couple brother free days.

Sunday, October 21, 2007

I've said it before....

The SEC is awesome!! We have 7 (yes 7) teams ranked in the top 25. Not bad if you ask me. Tough conference with great teams.

3. LSU
9. Florida
14. Kentucky
15. South Carolina
20. Georgia
22. Alabama
23. Auburn

Speaking of weddings.......

I was trying to remember what I got my bridesmaids for a gift. I cannot remember for the life of me. Yes it was 5 years ago, but you would think that I would remember something like that. Nope. I'm not even sure that Michael got a groomsmen gift for his guys. I remember that he got one when he was in his brother's wedding. How sad is it that I can remember he got one in someone else's wedding, but not if he gave one in our own wedding. Is "mommy brain" really that bad? I would have to say yes since I used to never have a problem remembering things until I had kids. LOL Let that be a warning for those of you who don't have kids yet. They steal your brain cells. LOL

They are killing me!!

My Titans. They are driving me nuts. They cannot get into the end zone for anything. They have made 6 (at the moment) field goals and only 1 touchdown today. The 6 field goals are a franchise record. The NFL record is 7. We are on track to break that one. Our defense is playing really well again, but our offense is really really bad. Okay, not horrible, but not really good either. If it wasn't for our defense we would not be winning many games. *sigh*

As I type this we did get into the end zone for the 2nd time today. Chris Henry got his 1st NFL touchdown. Good for him.

ETA: Our defense is starting to not play so well. *sigh*

ETA (again): "Wow what a game!" says the announcer. Ummm, yeah! We barely pulled it out with a Bironas field goal (yeah he broke the NFL record for number of field goals in a game with 8) with 4 seconds left. Good for him, but dang!! That is just crazy. We need to be getting in the end zone. It's embarrassing if you really want to think about it.
