I need something to make me smile after last nights game.

This should do it.

UGA 30 (4-1) Bama 41

Well that was UGLY!! Very very ugly. The first half was completely pathetic. We couldn't do anything on offense or defense. I guess the one good thing I could say is that at least it wasn't against an unranked team. Oh hell, who am I kidding. There was NOTHING good about it. We lost. That says all there is to say. I didn't even watch the entire thing. Yes you read that right. I went to bed during the 3rd quarter. My blood pressure got up too high. I figured for my health and the health of the baby it was the best idea. I was kept up to date on the score and whatnot from Peachz. She was texting me all night. I have to say that I was completely disgusted. The boys came out in the 2nd half and actually played some good football, but it was too little too late. What the hell happened during the first half? We ARE a better team than what we showed last night. One thing that has to get fixed is the damn penalties! OMG!! We kept giving them yards. Keeping drives alive. Ugh! Nothing more frustrating than that. Well that and lack of execution. Ugh!!

I'm not even going to post the stats today. Just know that we couldn't run the damn ball and so we had to throw way too many times. Stafford got some yards, but again it was nothing to be proud of. Nothing about last night makes me proud.

We have our bye week next week and it is much needed. The week after that we play the Vols. They are not playing well this year, but we can't take that lightly. We have to come out with a chip on our shoulders. Big time. Don't disappoint me boys!!! I'll be there yelling at the tv again no matter what, but we have to play better. Take advantage of your week off.

Ohhh..........injuries. Apparently Stafford had some sort of head injury, but they say it's nothing major and he never came out of the game. Knowshon has an elbow injury and so far I haven't read how serious that is. Coach Richt didn't know last night. Ellerbe got hurt early and never returned to the game. His was a knee. Tripp Chandler hurt his shoulder, but returned to the game. Chris Davis and Kris Durham were also hurt last night. We need that bye week!

Here are a couple pictures that show how the Dawg Nation is feeling today. Chin up guys. We will rise to fight another day.

OMG!! I'm ROFLMAO

The top 10 whiniest coaches. Guess who is #1!!

And so it begins....

What begins you ask? The search for baby bedding and nursery decorating ideas. I love this part of it, but I also hate this part of it. *sigh* I always find great things, but I don't have a house so I can't really paint the walls or anything like that. I have to do it all with white walls. That is so boring. *sigh* I want color!!! I want to be able to paint murals (ok, have someone else paint murals! LOL) on the walls of the nursery. We need a house. I did find one that I really really liked. It's even in the school zone where I work and where my kids go to school. We are under a lease here until next summer though and I'm sure that house won't be available then. *sigh*

Really, it's driving me nuts!

This pregnancy acne is driving me bonkers. It's on my forehead, my temples, my cheeks, my chin, and around my nose. So really...........it's all over. You can't see it really, but I can feel it. I guess I should be grateful that you can't see it. I'm not grateful though. I want it gone. I tried washing my face with rubbing alcohol last night. I know that isn't always a good idea, but I was out of the Sea Breeze that I usually use. I'll do it again tonight and see if that helps at all. It does feel a little better today so maybe it will help. *sigh*

Say it ain't so, Larry!! Say it ain't so!!!!

I came home from work today to learn that the much loved voice of my Georgia Bulldogs, Larry Munson, is retiring. Effective immediately. We all knew this was coming. It still hurts my heart. I've never known UGA football without Larry. I started listening to him when I was 14 and my mom had taken tv games away from me (she thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown at the end of a game). I had to start listening to the games on the radio. Larry really brought the games to life for me. I could almost see what was happening on the field. He always called the game with such emotion. He loves the Dawgs as much as I do. You could hear it in his voice.

I wish Larry well and just hope he knows how very much he will be missed. Here is a tribute I found to some of Larry's calls. It gave me chills and I do have tears in my eyes.

Larry will celebrate his 86th birthday on Sunday. Happy Birthday Larry! God Bless and God Speed!

Thanks for the memories!!

It's BLACKOUT time again Dawg fans!!!

It is official! Coach Richt has announced that next Saturday's game against the Tide will see the boys come out in the black jerseys. They are once again asking the fans to come dressed in black as well. Dang, I'm going to miss another one. *sigh*

Not only is it a Blackout, but that sports channel that I refuse to name is going to be in Athens with their Gameday show. I can't say that I'm happy about that, but oh well. LOL

The game will be televised on that channel and it is a 7:45pm kickoff (that's 6:45pm CST).

Ok, Dawg fans I want you to be at your all time best. Be that 12th man and be LOUD!!! I can't be there to add my voice, but dang it there is enough of you that it shouldn't be a problem!!! Make me proud!!!

I love this look!!

UGA 27 (4-0) Arizona State 10

Whew! We came out of the desert (with all that dry heat! LOL) with a win. It wasn't pretty at the beginning. We couldn't seem to get anything going, but we eventually started moving the ball. Stafford had a career high yardage and our run defense was fabulous!! I swear I love Rennie Curran!! He was everywhere last night!! Knowshon and A.J. Green both had fabulous nights too.

While it was a good game and we played well for the most part, there are still things we need to work on. Penalties! OMG!!! We had 104 yards in penalties!! That is unacceptable!! (can you see the teacher coming out in me? Heehee!) Some of those penalties kept drives alive too. Ugh!! That is so very frustrating. Our kickoffs were better last night (with the exception of the out of bounds kick), but coverage still needs some major work. Opposing teams are getting some great field position. Come on guys give your defense a break and pin these guys deep.

Ok, here are the stats from last night.

1. Stafford was 16 of 28 for 285 yards and 1 TD. (Yeah all those yards on 16 completed passes! Take that Tebow!)
2. Moreno had 23 carries for 149 yards and 2 TDs. (Isn't he at 9 TDs for the year now?)
3. A.J. Green at 8 receptions for 159 yards. (Ummm, he's a freshman and he made some amazing catches last night!)
4. Mo. Mass. had 4 catches for 44 yards.
5. King had 1 reception for 41 yards (that was beautiful!)
6. We had 461 total yards.

Here are a couple pics of Knowshon's first touchdown. It was FUN! Heehee!!

Here's one of Green going up for a ball. Dang that kid can jump!!

Nervous about the game tonight

My Dawgs have traveled to the desert. They play Arizona State in just a couple hours. I'm nervous. Ok so yeah I'm ALWAYS nervous about our games. LOL Well you never know which team is going to come out onto the field. I'm hoping for the good one tonight. You can be sure I'll be biting my nails either way. I'm sure I'll scare the dog and the kids at some point tonight as I yell at the tv. *sigh* You would think they'd be used to it by now, but apparently not. LOL

I watched the Gators/Vols game earlier today. That was an ugly game let me tell ya. UT couldn't do anything on offense or defense. Yes, I'm still nervous about our game with them. LOL I can't tell if Florida played well or if UT just played that badly. "Superman" Tebow (can you see me rolling my eyes?) had like 74 yards passing and 22 yards rushing. I'm sure if you watch that damn sports channel that I refuse to name they will be talking about how wonderful he is. (Yeah, I'm rolling my eyes again.)

I also watched the Alabama/Arkansas game. Folks, Alabama scares me. We play them next week. At least it is between the hedges. They will be looking for revenge too after our overtime win last year. We have to come out with attitude!!! If not it is going to be an ugly night.

A little girl needs your help!

She needs your prayers. Makenzie is a 3rd grader at the school where I teach. Her mom is a teacher at our school. Early this week a tumor was found in her brain. Yesterday she had surgery to remove the tumor. They were able to remove the tumor with only some cells remaining. Unfortunately the tumor was found to be malignant. Makenzie will need to either have radiation or chemo. She has a twin sister and a little brother. Her brother is in Joshua's kindergarten class.

A benefit fund has been set up in Makenzie's name at Wilson Bank and Trust and her family has set up a webpage to update family and friends. Stop by and read her story. Leave a message. The support is much appreciated. Leave her a birthday message. Her birthday is Monday (Sept. 22).

Baby update!

I have had my first OB appointment. I went on Monday. They did an ultrasound so I was able to see the little peanut's heartbeat. Awwww!!! Yes, I did say that. Right after I asked the tech if there was just one in there. LOL The ladies at school had me paranoid about having more than one!! Yeah I was freaked out. Everything looks fine with the baby. The heart rate was 175 beats per minute.

Anyway, they have changed my due date to April 27. Thought it was anywhere from April 15-20. It's no big deal though. If I have this little one on the due date I will have 14 weeks at home before having to go back to work. Chances are though that he/she will come earlier and I'll get even more time at home. Much longer than with the other two kiddos. With Joshua I was home for 7 weeks and with Ari I was home for 9. I kinda like the idea of being home a little longer.

They have me checking my blood sugar already. I have to check it 4 times a day for 2 weeks and then fax the results to my doctor. So far they are looking pretty good. Even after my spaghetti dinner with milk to drink last night my blood sugar was fine. That made me happy. It was a major test. LOL It was kinda high after lunch at school today, but still under what they like. That made me happy. Keep your fingers crossed for me that since this pregnancy has been so different from the other two it will be different in this aspect too.

If I don't start looking pregnant soon...........

I swear I'm going to have to go off on somebody. Ugh!! Yes, I realize I need to lose a little weight. I get that, but dang it. You don't have to be rude about it. Today a "friend" is talking to me about her losing weight. She isn't aware that I'm pregnant as she has been out from work for awhile now. So anyway, she says to me "I've found the best diet pills ever. Maybe I should share them with you." OMG!!! How incredibly rude. Even if I wasn't pregnant I would have been a little offended. Ok, I would have been A LOT offended. Some friend, huh? Way to make another woman feel good.

More proof that this prenancy is different than the others

My first two pregnancies were very similar throughout. I wasn't sick. I was not a "typical" witchy pregnant woman. I was tired, but nothing major. My complexion really cleared up. This one? OMG!!!! This one is SO different. I have morning sickness that is killing me. Thank God for Zofran. I am way grouchy and short tempered. I'm so tired I can't see straight most days. I have horrible acne. I need a good acne treatment that is safe to use while pregnant. *sigh* I am also experiencing major heartburn. Yeah this early!! I had it maybe 4 times total with Ari and not at all with Joshua. It's almost every night with this one. We still aren't sure about the gestational diabetes this time though. I am testing it 4 times a day already. I'll keep y'all posted on that one.

UGA 14 (3-0) South Carolina 7

Well it wasn't pretty, but it was a win! I'll take it however I can get it. Yes, it probably means that we are going to fall in the polls again, but ya know I never agree with the polls anyway. LOL

It may have been ugly, but I wasn't really surprised. Anyone familiar with this rivalry shouldn't have been surprised. These two teams have a tendency to play like this. In the last 5 years the winning team has scored less than 20 points. All I can say this week is thank God for the defense!! Whew!! They won this game for us that is for sure.

Here are the stats for the day. They are ugly. LOL

1. Stafford was 15 of 25 for 146 yards and no touchdowns. He did rush a few times and got some major yardage on a couple (17 and 30 yards).
2. Moreno rushed for 79 yards on 20 carries and 1 touchdown.
3. The offense had 252 total yards.
4. While kickoffs are still a concern I have to say that Mimbs had one helluva punt from the endzone! I think they say it was 77 yards. Damn!! Now if we could only get someone who could kick off the tee. *sigh*
5. Our defense recovered a South Carolina fumble in the end zone for a touchback. Whew!! That kept them from tying the score. Whew!!

Like I said, it was an ugly game, but I'll take an ugly win over an ugly loss any day!! Now we look forward to next week and Arizona State. Now they are a little angry right now because they lost to UNLV yesterday in overtime. Again we will have to tread carefully.

GOOOOO DAWGS!!!!

More Coach Richt love!!

Here are 3 more videos that I picked up from markricht.com. These come from the Coach of the Year interviews. I really really do love this man. He's a fantastic coach and an even better person.

I just love our coach.

Here is a short video I got off of markricht.com. It's a clip from "At Home with the Richts."

EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT DAMMIT!!!!!!!

That is all.

7 years tomorrow.

September 11, 2001. I'll never forget. My heart will always bleed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and friends of those lost on that day.

God Bless.

Are they really my kids?

I sometimes wonder if they could possibly be mine. Neither one of them will eat the good stuff. No mashed potatoes and gravy. No steak. No corn on the cob. Really! Heck Ari won't even eat macaroni and cheese!!! I LOVE mac & cheese!! How can a child NOT eat that? Their diet consists of spaghetti (laced with pureed veggies), tacos, pb&j sandwiches, circle ham (aka....bologna), and fruit. Yep that's it. I hate it. They refuse to try anything. If I make them they will gag until the throw up all over their plates. I've tried the whole "this is what we are having. if you don't eat that then you don't eat." Yeah that didn't work. They didn't eat for like 3 days. Will they ever grow out of this? Will I ever be able to make cubed steak with rice and gravy and butter beans or corn? I'm so tired of eating the stupid stuff from above. Hell, the won't even eat chicken these days. They were such good eaters when they were little. *sigh*

Blind. They are blind!!

I swear that there are people out there who do not value education. The problem with this is that these are the people who are making some major decisions that affect education. It's sad and disheartening and incredibly frustrating. Aren't we educating the future of our country? No it is not only the teachers in a school who are important. Yes it takes more than teachers and principals to run a school. The state mandates new programs and then the county takes away staff that enables us to implement these programs correctly or effectively.

If these idiots don't start realizing just how important education is I'm scared to see what will become of this country in 30 or so years. If only Lasik surgery could open their eyes before the kids have to suffer from their idiocy. *sigh* Unfortunately it's not that kind of blindness.

Knowshon video

Ok, found a video of that amazing hurdle. Here ya go! Enjoy!!

Saturday, September 06, 2008

So that great hurdle from Knowshon?

Yeah I found pictures!! Heehee!! I found them over at anopiniononsports. I'm going to post them here! I hope nobody minds!

ESPN might not show him the love, but I sure will!! Great job Knowshon!!! We are proud to have you as a Dawg!! ;-)

UGA 56 (2-0) Central Michigan 17

We were televised today!! WOOHOO!!! It was great to be able to see them live. It was a good game. The offense was rockin' and so was the defense. We even returned an interception for a touchdown. Knowshon had a great day!! He even hurdled a defender and gained a few more yards before going down on one of his long runs. (No, ESPN didn't show that on the highlight reel.......but I'll vent about them later.) Stafford had a pretty good day too. Not quite as good as last week, but a very solid day. I have to say that Central Michigan's QB was pretty darn good too. He started out badly, but he came out in the second half and played good ball. He actually had more yards than Stafford. The ball was spread around to both recievers and rushers.

Here are our stats. You knew those were coming, right? ;-)

1. Stafford was 18 of 28 for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns (he rushed for 25 yards).
2. Moreno had 18 carries for 168 (average of 9.3) yards and 3 touchdowns (one of those was a fumble recovery in the end zone.)
3. Massaquoi had 5 receptions for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns.
4. Dobbs ran an interception back 78 yards for a touchdown.
5. We threw to 9 different recievers.
6. We had 3 rushers (not including the QBs). Each rusher had at least 1 touchdown.
7. We had 263 yards rushing and 289 passing. Folks that is a total of 552 yards.

Next week we begin our SEC schedule. We head to Columbia and face the Gamecocks (anyone else happy when they lost to Vandy on Thursday? Heehee!). They are going to be a little ticked off when we get there. We will have to be careful. We are going for revenge though since they beat us last year. We can't underestimate them however. They lost to Vandy last year too (Heehee!) and still beat us. I guess I should explain my giddiness over a South Carolina loss. It's not my usual reaction for that particular team (well until recently). I'll give you just one word..........................................Spurrier. I absolutely hate that man and any team he coaches. So when he loses I get giddy. Heehee!!

Ok, now on to my ESPN vent. Last week I was ticked off because I was watching a game break and they spend about 3 minutes talking about how awesome the Gators and Tim Tebow were. Tim didn't throw anywhere near as well as Stafford. Yet, they spent all of 15 seconds on the UGA game (nice for the #1 ranked team in the nation, huh?). Didn't even mention Stafford's numbers. This week I was watching their College Football Saturday show and they spent 3-4 minutes on Ohio State and then again less than a minute on the UGA game. They didn't even show the great runs by Moreno...........not even the one where he hurdled the defender. That was a great play and they don't even touch on it. Oh and then of course they had to talk about Tebow (aka "Superman"). Ugh! Yeah you can see me roll my eyes can't you? Whatever people!! I'm going to have to stop watching ESPN aren't I? They just irritate me. *sigh*

Just got chills!!!

Kick off for the first televised UGA game of the year. Heehee!!!!

Wish I was there!!!

Want to keep track of my pregnancy?

Just scroll to the bottom and you will see a ticker. I may have to change the actual due date after my appointment though. Right now it is just a guess.

UGA 45 (1-0) GA Southern 21

Ok, I haven't watched the game yet (doing that in a couple hours on CSS replay), but I have to blog about it some anyway. I kept up with it using Fox Sports GameTrax and the game tracker on georgiadogs.com. I have to say that I have some questions. Like, why did they pull Stafford out when they did? Doesn't that take him out of his rhythm? And, why did Moreno only get 8 carries? No, I'm not a coach and no I don't profess to know more than they do, but dang these are two of our premier players. You would think we would want them in there at all times. Another question is why was Southern able to score 3 touchdowns so quickly there at the end? Did they take out some of our defensive starters or did they just back off some? Maybe watching today will give me some insight.

Even with all my questions I'm not all that unhappy with the game. ;-) Yeah I know, sounds like it, but I just question that's all. LOL Our numbers were fabulous though. Well minus the dumb penalties. Here are some of the stats! You knew those were coming didn't ya?

1. Stafford was 13 of 21 for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns. (Love these numbers!!)
2. Cox was 4 of 6 for 48 and 1 touchdown. (not bad there either)
3. They threw to 9 different recievers (yeah that's a lot)
4. There were 4 different rushers (not counting QB scrambles)
5. Moreno had 8 carries for 59 yards and 3 touchdowns! (average of 7.4 per carry)
6. King had 12 carries for 95 yards (average of 7.9 per carry)
7. Total yards.........535!! (wow!)

So as you can see not a bad start for my beloved Dawgs!!

I may be back after I watch the game with some more comments. LOL

I hate taking the dog out at night.

It makes me nervous. Especially since I heard the news report of the woman who was raped not to long ago when she let her dog out at like 3am. Granted I don't let my dog out at that time of night and I usually try to make sure she goes out before it gets dark for the last time until Michael gets home from work, but sometimes I have to. I hate it. There isn't enough outdoor lighting around here to make me more comfortable. Sometimes it sucks being a woman. *sigh*

Sorry for the whiny girly post. LOL Sometimes it happens. ;-)

It's football season folks!!!

WOOHOO!!! I'm so excited!!!! Football season is here!! I've watched all weekend. I will watch the UGA replay in a couple of hours (not happy that it wasn't televised to begin with! Grrrrr!!). I will watch the UT game tonight. Watching on tv is not like being there live, but I'll take what I can get!! One day I hope to have a big screen plasma tv in an entertainment room. Complete with some discount home theater seating for more comfort. Yes I realize that I'm kinda like a guy that way. I do love me some football. *sigh* I have always been a huge football fan. I can watch all day and do watch all day. All weekend. Including Thursday and Monday. Do you guys realize that we get 5 days of football? OMG!! Heaven!!!!! Heehee!!
