Well, tomorrow is the day.

The Sugar Bowl. I have refrained from talking too much about it. I was a little disappointed that UGA didn't get into the BCS Championship game, but upon further thought I realized/admitted that we really didn't belong there. We didn't win our conference. Do I think that the 2 teams who are going belong there? Can't say that I do. I really think that college football needs at least a 4 team playoff and maybe even an 8 team.

I'm not disappointed with the Sugar Bowl. I think it is going to be a good game. I think that Hawaii is going to give my Dawgs a little more trouble than a lot of people think. I'm pretty confident that we will win, but I'm not so sure that it will be an easy win. It depends a lot of which UGA team comes out in New Orleans. Will it be the team from the beginning of the year or will it be the team from the end? I'm hoping with the black jerseys and the "blackout" from the fans the team will come out with the same emotion/intensity they showed against Auburn.

You know where I'll be tomorrow night. I have thought about live blogging the game like I did last year, but it probably won't happen. I will, however, get a post up very soon after the game. LOL Good or bad.

GOOOOO DAWGS!!!!

An oldie, but a goodie

Joshua got a long time favorite toy of mine and Michael's and even Christian's for Christmas. It is fast becoming one of his favorites too. All that said, I can see why my mom hated them! Ugh!! I just know that I'm going to end up stepping on one of these dang things in the middle of the night.

Ari got a haircut!

Here she is before.

And here she is after.

Here's one just for good measure!

Happy New Year!!

No big plans for our household tonight. Michael is working. The 17 year old is going out with some friends (Lord please keep him safe tonight!!). The other 2 kids are going to bed at their regular time. I'm going to watch some football, listen to some music (watch my new Bon Jovi Lost Highway DVD), and drink a few. Not too many though. I'm home alone with the kids. Can't get crazy. Damn! ;-)

I hope everyone has a Happy and Safe New Year!!

Bring on 2008!!

This one will embarrass the kid one day! LOL

I swear we have the worst poop problems with the 4 year old. For some reason he hates to go poop. It is a fight every night. If I do let him off the potty without going the next day is just torture. He doesn't eat right anyway and definitely doesn't get enough fiber so sometimes it is difficult when he goes regularly, but if he misses just one then it is hell. It is driving me nuts!! Why is it so difficult to get him to go? Anyone else have this problem with their little ones? What did you do to make it easier for them? I would hate to think that he would need a colon cleanse before he is 10 years old. LOL

Maybe we need a different kind of bed for him

Right now Joshua has a bunk bed. The bottom is a futon (full size) and the top is just a twin regular mattress. The top bunk scares me. Both kids love to climb up there and watch TV. My fear is, of course, that they are going to fall off and break something or since we don't have a mattress up there yet (yeah, bad parents) one is going to have a leg fall through the bars and get seriously hurt that way. So far there have been no incidents, but I have this feeling. Ya know? I'm thinking that maybe we should just get him one of the regular platform beds. It would at least be somewhat safer. LOL

More pictures of the kids

Sweet Ari

Does he look older than 4 or what?

A little breezy in Florida.

A new year is about to begin.

Another year to reach those goals. I seem to make this goal for myself every year, but I inevitability fail. I'm not sure why though. I have such good intentions. It is incredibly frustrating. I'm going to try it again in 2008 even if I do fail. I hate to keep trying. I do not like the way I look. My weight is a major issue for me. I've tried diet pills and they usually don't work. I've heard some good things about hoodia, but I don't think I'm going to use anything like that. I think I'm going to go on the diabetic diet my OB put me on when I was pregnant with the kids (I had gestational diabetes with both). I lost weight in the beginning of my pregnancies so I'll try that first. I wish I had some kind of treadmill at home though. That would make things a little easier. *sigh*

So, wish me luck!!

Did ya miss me?

Or did you even notice I was gone? LOL We went to Florida for Christmas. I love going home, but I sure do hate the drive. Ugh!! We left on Sunday night at midnight. I drove most of the way. Luckily I got to sleep for a few hours before we left. We just got back last night. I drove the entire way. I prefer to drive. LOL I can only blame myself if I get pulled over for driving too fast. It works better that way. ;-)

We had a blast. The kids love going to see their Namma and Aunt Mimi. Joshua wanted to know when Aunt Mimi's house was going to be closer to ours and how we were going to move her house since it was so heavy. He decided that we would need everyone's help, but the problem is that everyone is not always there. LOL

Here are some pics from Christmas.

Joshua waiting patiently for more presents.

Ari's favorite gift. Her blue (Cinderella) princess dress and shoes.

The 4 year old carefully opening a gift.

More Christmas wishes

We can't afford it, but I would love to get a new plasma TV. My dad has one hanging over his fireplace. It is fabulous. I love watching movies at his house. He has surround sound to go with it. The only problem is I don't think I would want it hanging on our apartment wall. I'm not sure the apartment people would want it up there either. LOL We would have to have a plasma tv lift to put it on. I could definitely handle that. Anyone want to donate to the cause? ;-)

Are we ever going to get real snow?

I love snow. I really really do. The problem is I live in the south and we seldom get snow. At least not real snow anyway. We get a couple inches, but nothing like the New England states or the Northwestern States. I want to visit Montana during the winter. I want at least a week where I have to wear some of this very warm volcom clothing. I have no reason to wear it here in Tennessee. *sigh* We got about 9 inches a few years ago when I was pregnant and I loved every minute of it. It took over 5 hours to get home from work when it would usually take about 20-30 minutes. I still loved it. LOL Yes, I do realize I am weird.

An evening at Opryland Hotel

I took the kids to Opryland tonight to see the Christmas lights. Truthfully I was a little disappointed. The outside lights were nice, but the decorations inside were lacking. The North Pole scene that they usually have on the Magnolia side was not there. The little elves that they usually have hidden in the foliage were nowhere to be found. I did get a couple good pictures of the kids though.

Okay, I need to get serious!

Yes, I realize that I say this often and then nothing really happens/changes. LOL I really do NEED to get serious about this weight loss thing though. I would love to have a treadmill or one of those ellipticals at home. It would be so much easier to use one at home rather than find child care to do it someplace else. With Michael working second shift he isn't home to keep them when I could actually find the time to go out. If I had one at home, I could set it in the living room so I could watch TV while I worked out. The kids could play in their rooms and with it sitting right there I would be guilted into doing it even if I didn't feel like it. LOL

Christmas Meme

I've been tagged by Sista Smiff.

1. Wrapping or gift bags? I prefer bag just b/c I'm lazy and they are easier. I like to unwrap presents though. LOL

2. Real or artificial tree? We have an artificial tree, but I prefer real. I just don't like the cleanup involved with a real one.

3. When do you put up the tree? Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving.

4. When do you take the tree down? Usually the weekend after Christmas.

5. Do you like eggnog? Nope

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Man, I can't remember. I do remember one year getting several baby dolls and that same year I got a cowgirl outfit complete with cap guns. I loved baby dolls, but I was mostly a tomboy.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? No, I didn't put out a lot of our decorations this year. Just didn't have the room.

8. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Can't remember.

9. Mail or email Christmas cards? I mail Christmas cards with the kids' picture on them.

10. Favorite Christmas Movie? Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

11. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I usually start in September/October buying one thing a week. I hate rushing around trying to buy gifts at the last minute.

12. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? cornbread dressing, divinity, pumpkin pie, collard greens

13. Clear lights or colored on the tree? We have white lights.

14. Favorite Christmas song? Santa Claus is Watching You by Ray Stevens. LOL

15. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Since my family lives so far away we are usually traveling during Christmas.

16. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer. Yep.

17. Angel on the tree top or a star? This year it is a Santa hat. I couldn't find my star.

18. Open the presents Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning? Christmas morning.

19. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Irritable people out shopping.

20. Do you decorate your tree in any specific theme or color? I have mostly snowmen on the tree, but no specific color. I let the kids put the ornaments on this year. It was hard giving up control. LOL

21. What do you leave for Santa? Usually milk and cookies, but I've been known to leave him chips and beer. LOL

22. Least favorite holiday song? There isn't one that I absolutely hate really.

23. Favorite ornament? My UGA ornaments (all of which I put at the top of the tree this year so they wouldn't get broken or lost.)

Ahhh, more Christmas gift frustration

Why are men so hard to buy for? I mean really. I don't think I'm that hard to buy for. I have a hard time figuring out what to get for the men in my life though. All of them. They won't give me a list either. They all say, "Don't worry about getting me anything." Ugh!!! That drives me completely insane!!! Just tell me what you want already! I think I'm going to get them all a pair of silver cufflinks. They can all use them and if they aren't the "fun" gift they were hoping for they have no one to blame but themselves. LOL

I appreciate it.......

I really do. In my classroom I have a nice TV with a VCR, but it didn't have a DVD player. Our PTO bought me a new DVD player at the beginning of the year. Only problem is...................my TV is old and the DVD player won't hook up to it. It won't hook up through the VCR either. *sigh* Now I need them to get me one of these HDMI splitters so I can hook it up and watch more recent movies when we need to stay in at recess or have an educational DVD to watch. I only have a few kid movies on video tape and many on DVD so it would be so helpful to have a DVD player that worked.

I hate being sick!

Ugh!! One thing about being a teacher is that I am constantly exposed to sickness. And teaching kindergarten makes it worse. These little guys are so loving and are always giving me hugs. I try to have them wash their hands often. It just isn't enough. I have a nasty cold. I keep pumping myself with drugs to make me feel better. I've taken so many different things so far and nothing is working. If I'm not careful I'll have to check myself into a drug rehab program. LOL

Who took my sweet children and replaced them with these hellions?

O....M....G!!! They are driving me insane!! Between the sunscreen thing then the toothpaste and now the just plain not listening I am about ready to pinch their little heads off. Today they have been running and screaming all over the house. Completely ignoring me when I tell them to stop. They are fascinated with the bathroom and the kitchen. Both places get them in trouble. Right now they are in quiet time and they are far from quiet. They won't even stay in Joshua's room and watch video. Ugh!!! Is it their bedtime yet?

Whoever stole my children and left these two in their place please bring them back. I don't know how much more I can take. *sigh*

music=memories for me

Right now I am sitting here listening to Motley Crue's "Girls, Girls, Girls" and the memories just keep coming. My fondest memories from that time are my step sister and I getting dressed for a night out (yeah we were all of 15 and 16). We would be in our ripped jeans and cute little shirts. My sister was able to drive (she was the 16 year old) so we would take the red convertible MG Midget out. This tape would be blaring as loud as we could get it. We would cruise the neighborhood making sure to go by the houses of the boys we had crushes on and then head out to the movie theater. No, we were usually not there to see a movie. LOL We'd cruise around there for awhile and then head to the nearest fast food restaurant to hang out with friends. The whole time Motley Crue would be blaring. We had so much fun. Ahhhh, to be 15 again.

I've since lost touch with my step sister (we are no longer sisters). We went to college together, but a falling out my senior year kind of ended our relationship. I sometimes miss that relationship and her. We fought a lot, but we had a lot of fun too. There are a lifetime of memories there. We became sisters when I was around 4 years old. It's sad when those relationships end.

I miss college football.

Yes already. It has only been 1 Saturday with no college football, but I hated it. I didn't know what to do with myself. I hate basketball and that was the only thing on yesterday. *sigh*

I think there is entirely too much time between the end of the college football season and bowl games. It can't be good for the teams. What about those teams who found a great rhythm? I'm sure they will lose some of that. What about us fans who crave college football? The NFL stuff just doesn't cut it for me. Don't get me wrong, I love NFL football too, but it is nothing compared to college. The emotion just isn't there for me most of the time.

I hate the end of college football. WAAAAAAAAH!!

Man oh man

This is a very physical game. It's pretty ugly. Heck, even Dan Dierdorf wondered if they were all in a bad mood. LOL I'd have to say yes at this point. Helmets are flying all over the place. Even L.T. got a personal foul penalty. Both starting QBs have gone down already. They both went down on run plays that they really had nothing to do with. Like I said.........ugly. Right now the score is tied in the 3rd quarter at 3. It's fun, but dang I worry about all the players involved. LOL

I'd say that even the fans are in a bad mood. I've never heard so much booing from them. They boo when we throw. They boo when we run. They boo every hit by the other team like it is an illegal hit. I'm not sure what exactly it is that they want today. LOL

Oh wow. We just had a major no call. Someone threw a horse collar tackle on Chris Brown when he went in for the TD. Score now is 10-3 Titans.

Dan Dierdorf: "Oh my gosh, it's Vanden Bosch again." LOL It does seem that #93 is all over Rivers today.

Damn, tied with 9 seconds left. Looks like overtime. I hate overtime. *sigh*

Yep going to overtime and the fans are booing again. They really need to stop that. The team really needs them at the 12th man now.

Damn. I really do hate overtime. L.T. goes in for the winning TD. 23-17 *sigh*

Sign of the times?

I swear living in the year 2007 can be so complicated. The other day I was trying to find the cable to hook my Sony Walkman up and upload some more music. Well, I had to search through all of our cables to find the right one. We have entirely too many cables. We have cables for both digital cameras. A cable for my walkman and a cable for his iPod. Cables for our phones and cables for the laptop. Everywhere I look I see cables. I can never find the right one the first time I try. LOL Of course they are all in the same place. I guess it's good that we haven't lost any of them. ;-)

"Momma, we have a surprise for you!!"

As you probably know this did not turn out well.

I go to find the munchkin who yelled this. Both kids are in their bathroom. There is sunscreen all over one (I should have gotten a picture, but I was so mad I couldn't stand it and didn't think about it). I mean ALL OVER. I couldn't get her clothes off of her without getting it in her hair all over her face and all over me. There was sunscreen covering the floor in the bathroom. I had to wash her hair 3 times to get it all out. I couldn't get the soap or the shampoo to actually lather up there was so much sunscreen.

Both kids had florescent green sharpie marker on their arms and faces. They had marker on the bathtub, toilet, walls, cabinets, and MY TOWELS!!

I bathed them, cleaned the bathroom, put the stuff in the washing machine, brushed their teeth, and put them to bed. It is an hour early, but it had to be done. Not so much for the sunscreen which is easy enough to clean, but the sharpie PERMANENT marker all over everything. I just hope that the Magic Eraser will get it out. I thought I had one left, but I'm out so it will be tomorrow before I can get one. I know it won't come out of my towels though.

I'm really upset that I didn't get pictures. They would definitely be ones I could look back on and laugh. *sigh*

Most of you know.....

I know I've mentioned it before that we are planning on moving to Florida in the next year. I'm really looking forward to going home. I miss my family. I am concerned however. I do want to buy a house when we get there. I don't mind the apartment so much, but I want a fenced in backyard for the kids to play in. The problem lies in the price of real estate. It is crazy expensive to buy a house on the island. I sometimes wonder if we should wait until we get some of our bills paid off before we make that move. I don't want to do that though. I'm ready to go home. *sigh*

Holiday blues

It's amazing how quickly something can trigger a memory. I was looking at a friend's online pictures of her daughter, nieces, and nephews helping decorate their great-grandfather's Christmas tree. It brought back so many memories for me. I used to love helping my grand parents put up their tree. They are gone now. As much as I love those memories they make me sad at this time of year. I miss them tremendously. I miss the fun I had at their house during Christmas. I miss helping my grandma bake pies and cakes, cookies and candy. I miss sitting around the huge quilting frame in the living room while she worked on a quilt. I miss sitting with my grandpa trying to coax him into letting someone take his picture. I miss taking a walk or a ride with him just to get away from the craziness of the house. It makes me incredibly sad knowing that they won't know my kids and that my kids won't know them. They would have loved each other so much.

Titans won!! 28-20

And we even got into the end zone. Not only did we get in, but we got in 4 times. Yep, it's true.

Our defense played better this week. Big ol' Albert Haynesworth was back.............thankfully! I am still trying to figure out how one person can make such a huge difference in the play of the whole. Doesn't matter anymore I guess since he is back, but it's still interesting to me. I just hope we can keep it up.

Now I have to say something to the fans. Where the hell were you? For it to be a sold out game there were a hell of a lot of empty seats. Yeah, it was raining...............so. Suck it up. It's football and that was perfect football weather if you ask me. Are you a fan or are you not? You spent money on a ticket(s) and then didn't go? What a waste. If you aren't going to show up then how 'bout you give someone else the opportunity to buy the tickets and give up your PSLs. I'm sure there are people on the waiting list who would have been there regardless of the weather or how poorly you think the Titans are playing. Whatever your reasons for not showing up there really is no excuse. Pitiful.

Maybe I'll buy some of those advertising pens that say something like "If you don't want your Titans tickets I'll take them." At least they can be sure that I would be there adding my voice to the others who show up to support their team.

The Freakin' BCS is a pile if bullshit!!

How the hell a team who lost to an unranked opponent to end their regular season, lost the #1 position not once but twice, and and then only wins the conference game because the opposing QB can't throw a damn ball makes it to the National Championship game I'll never know. I hate the BCS. We need a playoff system and this really magnifies that. I won't even get to Ohio State (they play no one EVER ). This will be one Championship game I will not watch. I refuse. I've never missed watching one in all my years of watching football. Not even when the hated Gators or UT played.

We were not the only ones who got screwed though. There were several teams who had valid points when it came to who should go. It just shows how screwed up the BCS system is. Something needs to change. It probably never will, but it sure needs to change. This is ridiculous.

Got tagged

Sassy has tagged me for a random fact meme. I'm supposed to give you 7 random facts about me. Here goes...........

1. I'm a huge UGA football fan (bet you couldn't tell that) and right now I am incredibly pissed off with the whole BCS b.s.!!! We need a playoff system in college football.

2. I have 3 kids. Two are mine by birth and the third is mine by marriage, but he is just as much mine.

3. I am a teacher. This year I am teaching kindergarten for the first time. It is fun, but definitely a challenge.

4. I hate to cook. I don't mind baking so much, but cooking everyday is is for the birds.

5. Fall is my favorite time of year. I'm not sure if it is because of the cooler weather, the beautiful colors, or football. LOL

6. I love Christmastime. I love the lights and the smells and the traditions of family.

7. I love music. My all time favorite band is Bon Jovi.

Amen brother!!

Amen!!

Oh boy!!! Oh boy!!! Oh boy!!! WE ARE IN!!!!

Okay so it isn't official yet and the possibility is there that LSU will jump us in the polls since they won the SEC Championship tonight, BUT as of right now with the #1 and #2 teams losing their games tonight that puts #3 and #4 in the National Championship game!!!!!!! Ohio State (I hate Ohio State) is #3 and my very own Georgia Bulldogs are #4. I won't get too incredibly excited until it is official, but I can't help but be dancing around tonight!!! I can't believe that I'm even able to be possibly excited about this!! Who would have thought this would be happening after the loss to Tennessee? This is incredible!!! Please please please don't let LSU jump us!!!

Someone talk me down so that I'm not horribly disappointed when we get screwed out of this game!!!!!!

Oh and can I just say to the damn Vols!! Why the hell can't you pull it out when I need for you to? I mean really. You can pull out incredibly close games to make it to Atlanta and then choke when you get there. Dammit! See if I ever pull for you to win again. Thanks for nothing!

The 17 year old came to visit this weekend.

It's always good to see him. We don't get to see him often enough these days. The kids really miss him. So do Michael and I. I'm glad he came to see us.

Look what we did today!

It was a lot of fun. The kids had a blast and were so happy to have Aunt Marette's help. Bubba was also here to help. It doesn't look exactly like the picture, but I think we did a great job.
