Joshua sings karaoke!

Joshua had a blast singing karaoke on Christmas Eve with my mom. If you want to see the video just click the title above the picture. You will definitely get a kick out of it.

Happy Birthday Honey!!

Today is Michael's birthday. I won't get to spend much of it with him since he has to work, but I thought I would just take a minute to wish him a Happy Birthday here. He is my one true love and I appreciate all that he does for our family and the love that he saves just for us. We love you Honey and hope that you have a wonderful day!

Finally!

A picture we can use for Christmas pictures! It is so hard to get them to sit for a picture all together. We were finally able to get one last night. It's not perfect, but I love it!!

My Christmas present has arrived!!

I've wanted a king size bed for so long and now I finally have one. It was delivered yesterday and not long after it got here I was napping. I slept for 2 hours!! It felt great. Now I just have to watch the kids closely because it is much higher than our old bed. If they fall off of this one they will get hurt. Georgia can't jump up on this one and that makes me happy. No more chewing on my pillows or comforter. I can get my down comforter back out. WOOHOO!

It is so big! You can really get lost in it. I had to stretch my arm all the way to reach Michael last night. There is definitely room for the kids when they happen to stumble in with us. I would always get pushed out of the bed when we had our queen. No more!!

I'm in a picture sharing mood tonight!

I swear we don't tell him to make funny faces at the camera!

Apparently she has been watching her brother!

Hey mom, this picture of Ari kinda looks like a picture of me. I can't remember which one, but it sure does look familiar.

Is there any way to get a 2 year old and a 10 month old to cooperate in order to take a nice Christmas picture? If there is, we haven't found it yet. I swear we took 50 pictures and none of them were all that good. Oh well, I guess we try again next weekend.

Christmastime is here!

Look at that face!! Isn't she just too cute? She loves bows. I think all the bows on the gifts under our tree have been torn off. She never bothered the tree until we put the gifts under it and now we can't keep her away from it.
Joshua has decided that all the gifts under the tree are his. He's not interested in the bows! He wants what is inside the wrapping.

Apparently he sleep walks!!

Oh my! This is scary. His daycare teacher came to my classroom this afternoon to inform me that Joshua was sleep walking at nap time today. He got up off of his cot and walked around the room. He never opened his eyes and she put him back on his cot. He never woke up. I guess I will have to put the gate back up. I'm scared he will fall down the stairs now. He has been coming in our room almost every night and I thought he was awake, maybe he isn't.

IT'S GREAT TO BE A GEORGIA BULLDOG!!! S......E......C CHAMPS!!!

GOOOOOOO DAWGS!!! SIC EM!! WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!

Well, we pulled it off. We are the SEC Champions and Sugar Bowl bound. It was a fun game, at least for Georgia fans. No real nail biting drives. No getting on my knees on the floor. I was never really nervous at all, which is actually pretty amazing for me.

It will be sad to see this senior class leave, but now I will have to keep up with them in the NFL. It gets harder and harder to keep up with all the UGA players in the NFL. Just goes to show you what a great program Georgia has.

Thank you Coach Richt and thank you Bulldogs for a great year.

My Bulldogs are going to the championship game tomorrow!

It's not the National Championship game, but I'm happy with the SEC. It IS only the best conference in college football. Okay so I'm a little biased, but hey, I'm entitled.

I'm not all that confident we can beat LSU, but I am hopeful. After all, UT beat them and we beat UT. Looking at all the stats and such we are pretty evenly matched. It should be a good game. Of course I will be sitting in front of my t.v. and biting my nails. (Side note........you can always tell it is football season by looking at my fingernails.) I may even be on my knees on the floor near the end or hiding my face in a pillow during every play and watching the replay. I just wish I could listen to Larry Munson. He makes it even more fun.

I'm excited and nervous, but as always.................GOOOOOO DAWGS!!!!

How do you teach first graders when you have no voice?

This was something that I had to figure out these last 3 days. I completely lost my voice, yet I still went to school. Let me just say that it really isn't easy to teach when you can't talk. The kids loved it and I had very eager interpreters. They were actually pretty well behaved for me not being able to talk. Hey! Maybe I will start whispering all the time so they have to stay quiet and pay attention! LOL

They did enjoy being able to speak for me. They all wanted to be the one who translated to the class and when the office called in on the intercom they all would answer. And, wouldn't you know that while they never usually call me on the intercom, they called a dozen or so times when I couldn't talk.

My voice is much better today although it still goes in and out. I'm just hoping that resting it over the weekend will help and I can talk normally on Monday.

On Demand Momma.........On Demand!

Bad mommy that I am I let my son watch t.v. At the moment he loves to watch Goggin (Noggin). He knows that Noggin "goes to sleep" at a certain time every night. He loves to watch Dora, Diego, and Blue and they are not always on at the time he wants to watch them. So, I will find them on Comcast On Demand. Well, last night he comes to me with remote in hand and says, "On Demand Momma." My first thought was, "Did I hear that right?" I had no idea that he knew it was On Demand. He usually just asks for one of the shows. I guess I have one smart cookie on my hands. He must have picked it up from me telling Christian how to find a show for him over the weekend. That, or he got it from the intro to said shows. Either way it was pretty funny, but now I can't just tell him that they are not on.

I love first graders!!

They can seriously crack me up some days. Yesterday one of my kids came up to me to tell me that his sister broke her arm the night before by falling out of her bed. She is 17 so it was a little hard to believe, but he had some pretty vivid details. I also talked to his mom later that day and it was confirmed.

This, however, is not the funny part of this story.

This part is!! Within the hour I had 4 (yes 4) other children come to me and say, "My sister fell out of her bed last night and broke her arm!" I seriously lost it! That was just too funny. Apparently it was "Let's Impress Mrs. B With My Clumsy Sister" Day or something! I guess the local E.R. was a pretty busy place 2 nights ago.

He is pretending.

Last night after we got home from Daddy's, where we celebrated Thanksgiving, Joshua was playing with a stuffed duck. He was talking to it like it was a baby. "Want a bottle?" "You need a diaper! Shooy!" "Want a bath?" Things like that. It was so cute. He fed the duck a bottle. He changed his diaper, asking Michael to get him a wipe. He gave him a bath. He even put him in the crib and covered him up with his own blanket. This is the first time I've seen him do this with as much detail. He has done it to an extent with other things, but never with so much care and detail. I can't wait to see what happens next!

What are you thankful for?

There are so many things in my life that I have to be thankful for. It humbles me everyday to see my husband and my children who love me without measure. I thank God for them daily. They are definitely the best things in my life. I sometimes think that we take those closest to us for granted. I know that I do and I am going to work harder to change that. I was reading a blog today written by a soldier in Iraq and I realized just how lucky I am to be able to be with my family this holiday season. So many fine men and women will not be home for the holidays. I am so thankful for these people. They do what many of us will never do. They sacrifice themselves and their families for the people of this country. I hope everyone will take a moment to thank these people and pray for their safety while we are enjoying the company of those we love.

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!!

One night after work Michael decided to take a drive downtown and take a few pictures of our fair city at night. He doesn't think that he takes very good pictures of things, but I often disagree. These pictures really speak for themselves. While they are not perfect, they are really good in my opinion.

Brotherly love!

Fresh from their bath and sweet as can be.

He sings too!

My little guy loves to dance. He dances to the radio and to commercials. He also sings. You know that mom has been listening to Bon Jovi's new CD too much when the 2 year old can sing along.

He also has his favorite songs to sing. Every night we sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Wheels on the Bus, and many many more. He has even started singing the Star Spangled Banner. They sing it every morning at school. My favorite part is "what so proudly we ham...." It cracks me up to hear him sing it.

I just love how fast he learns things. His vocabulary grows by leaps and bounds everyday. It's absolutely amazing. His latest saying is "Thank you much!" He knows his letters, colors, and shapes already. He is just a little sponge. It's fun to watch. He knows his friend Hayden's car and even which way we should turn at the traffic light to go to Hayden's house. He will tell me all the time, "Go that way Momma. See Hayden." I just hope that he is always this eager to learn new things.

Mystery solved! I think!

Well, for the past week or so Joshua has been saying that he is scared of his room whenever we go by it and he will not sleep in there. Finally I was able to get him to tell me why he was scared. He said, "Joshua scared, fall off." This leads me to believe that he fell off of his bed and is now scared to sleep in there. Now the dilemma is how to get him over this fear and back in his bed. I put a rail up on the bed hoping that would help. I put him back in his room after we went to sleep last night. He stayed in there for a little while, but woke up and came into my room. At least he didn't cry when he woke up. He just ran to his little pallet in my room.

Does she look like me?

This is my favorite picture of myself and my youngest munchkin. I just wish the paci had been taken out of her mouth. Oh well, we do what we must to keep the peace.

Like mother, like daughter!

It must run in the family! See what my beautiful daughter thinks of all things orange?

My beautiful sweet babies!

Much like her brother, Ari likes to make faces at the camera. Isn't she cute?
Want a serious picture of my son? Not likely. This is just one of the many faces you will see if you pick up a camera.

Think you know what a strawbaby is?

I just love 2 year old language! Here are some of Joshua's words for everyday things.

strawberry-----strawbaby
kiss-----piss
pajamas-----dumb ass
momma-----Honey or Paige
Titans-----tights
Arianna-----Arinanna
teeth----feece
Noggin------Goggin
refridgerator-----drader
sissors-----wizzers
diaper-----biaper
computer----pidder
diamond-----biamond

That is all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure there are more. I'll add to the list when I think of them.

Ugh! Sick whiny 2 year olds will drive you nuts!!

Okay, the terrible twos are one thing, but add to that sick terrible twos and just stand back! Joshua has this really nasty cough and he has been running a fever for 3 days. This makes for one whiny little boy! Every little thing that doesn't go his way is multiplied by 1000 tears. Any small bump on the head is a major ordeal. Forget sharing his toys with Ari. He flat out refuses to let her play with anything. He either goes to take it away or comes to me and says, "Look Momma! Ari got Joshua's toy! Whine. Whine. Whine." He is addicted to Noggin (Dora, Diego, Little Bear, and Mrs. Spider). He whines and cries if he can't watch it.

I want my giggly happy boy back! I sure hope this illness runs it's course soon.

"Joshua smells like a flower!" Really?

When I picked Joshua up from the daycare today his teacher begins telling me about his day. Her first story is that Joshua came to her with a dirty diaper and when she puts him on the table he starts talking to her. This is nothing unusual. He will usually say, "Joshua gross." Today was different. He looks up at her and says, "Joshua smells like a flower!" I thought I would crack up. Where in the world did he get this? I've never said that to him. She has never said that to him. I guess I will be asking around to other family members to see if they have been lying to my poor son. LOL

My thoughts and prayers go out to former UGA football player

Randall Godfrey lost his sister on Tuesday. I just wanted to send out a prayer for him and his family at this very difficult time.

Banging my head against a brick wall!!

Just imagine 19 six and seven year olds hyped up on sugar. This is what I have been dealing with for 2 days now. I am about ready to pull my hair out! They have been absolutely horrible. My principal came in today to observe a lesson for tenure purposes and I could not believe how they acted. I had to stop in the middle of the lesson and correct the entire class. They were all over the floor, playing with anything within reach, chatting with each other, and calling out in the middle of the lesson (answers or comments about answers). I was appalled. I am really not looking forward to my meeting with the principal after today. Granted my kids are not the only ones who are uncontrollable this week, but the others aren't all getting observed. I hate Halloween and I am in desparate need of a happy hour! Too bad we don't have anything in the house to drink.

Happy Halloween!!

Well, Joshua went trick-or-treating twice today. The daycare took them around the school this afternoon and we went tonight around our neighborhood. He didn't seem to enjoy the large group going around school, but he loved going around the neighborhood with just the family. He was Spiderman, but he wouldn't wear the mask. Ari was a cute little pumpkin. She was just happy going along for the ride. I wanted to get Pebbles and Bam Bam costumes for them, but we couldn't find one in Ari's size. Maybe next year.

My munchkins get to meet Uga VI

When UGA played Vandy this year the Dawgs stayed at the Marriott where Michael works. We went up to experience the festive atmosphere that I miss so much. We were lucky enough to see Uga. Joshua and Ari were able to get their picture made with him. While Uga loved Ari and gave her lots of kisses she wasn't so sure of him. Joshua, on the other hand, loved him. Some of the kids around were a little afraid of him. Not my little guy. He went right up to him and pet him and tried to hug him.

I had to be quick with the picture. Like my Georgia Girl, Uga doesn't sit still for pictures when there are a lot of people around. I didn't get as good a picture as I wanted, but at least you can see all three of them.

I hate all things orange!!!

I'm just a little on the ticked off side right now. I just watched my beloved Georgia Bulldogs lose the the Florida Gators. Ranked 4th and we still can't beat them? WTH? Yes, we were without DJ Shockley, but we still should have beat them. We missed 2 makeable (is that a word?) field goals that would have actually won the game for us. I am so sick of losing to this damn team. The Dawgs seem to have a mental block where the Gators are concerned. Michael rolls his eyes everytime I say that, but how else can you explain it? I mean really, are they the better team this year? No. Don't get me wrong, they have beat us in the past with better teams and those losses, while hard to take, do not make me angry. When we are clearly the better team I get furious when we lose to them. It is getting pretty ridiculous. At least we are still ahead in the SEC East. Knocking on wood, hoping that I didn't just jinx our games against Auburn and Kentucky.

Regardless of the loss, I still love my Dawgs. I'll be sitting in front of the tv in 2 weeks cheering them on again. I just hope we have Shockley back and can pull out a win against Auburn and Kentucky.

A Good Start

This is my beautiful, if dirty, Georgia Girl. She is of the Uga bloodline and my first baby. She is somewhat spoiled, a lot skiddish due to having only one eye, and incredibly energetic for a bulldog and I love her dearly.

She starts out my first official attempt at blogging. We will see how this progresses. Hopefully I will be able to find the time to keep it up. Being a mom of 2 under the age of 3 and a dog, a wife, and working full time it sometimes gets difficult to find time to do anything.
