Do they know me at all?

I have to ask. I swear sometimes my family doesn't know me at all. One family member got me one of those really cool espresso machines for Christmas. The problem? I don't drink coffee. Of any kind. I hate it. I guess that is one item that I will be taking back. LOL I hope this family member doesn't come over and expect to have an espresso. LOL Wonder what I should buy instead? Hmmm. Such a dilemma. Also, should I tell this family member that I'm returning it? I've never really had to return a gift like this before.

I need more light

The lighting in this apartment is horrible. I have one floor lamp in the living room and it doesn't put out enough light. I need new indoor lighting. During the day it's fine when I can open the blinds, but at night I'd like a little more light. I wish we had an overhead light in here. Maybe with a ceiling fan. That would give me another advantage. I could lower my power bill if I had ceiling fans going. I swear my electric bill is higher in this apartment than it was in my house! But that is a rant for another post. LOL

You would think that I'd be tired of shopping

And truly I am, but I just can't help myself. I've been looking around for things on sale for the baby. My big thing is good price along with free shipping. I found several things at the above link that will work wonderfully! Not just baby stuff either. I will definitely be going back for a new laptop when this one finally dies. That might not be far off either. *sigh* They even had a good deal on a new eReader. I'll definitely be checking back for that when I'm ready to purchase one of those! You all know how badly I want one!! I'm trying to be good though and not spend too much money right now.

Where are you finding your good after Christmas deals?

Back home again

We got home from Florida last night. Another 11 hour drive. Ugh! I swear I used to make that drive in 9 hours! That is until I had kids!! I have to say that pregnant women should NOT be in a car for that long!! I feet blew up like balloons as soon as I took my shoes off. It was so uncomfortable.

Florida was nice though. The temp when we left TN on Monday morning was 8 degrees. In Florida we got into the 70s. Talk about nice!! It was great. No jackets or even long sleeves needed.

Christmas with the family was wonderful. As usual, my mom bought the kids more than was needed. We almost didn't have room in the van to bring everything back. The kids loved it though.

As much as I love going down there, it's good to be home. I sleep better in my own bed.

Who would have thought?

I always joke around that I have to get pregnant to lose weight. Well, it's true! I didn't lose weight with Joshua, but we didn't find out about the gestational diabetes until after I'd started gaining with him. With Ari I started on the diabetic diet at the beginning and I lost weight until 7 months. It's the same with this one. I found out I was pregnant in August and since then I've lost 11 lbs. I lose weight as fast pregnant as I would if I was using Fenphedra. LOL Granted it's not a lot of weight that I've lost so far and I can't really tell by looking, but it's more than I've been able to lose when actually trying. LOL I'll lose for a another couple months and then start gaining again. I'm hoping that this will be like after having Ari. I weighed less after I had her than when I got pregnant.

Just a quick computer check

Just checking to see if the computer is working ok. We've been having problems with it again even after coming back from the repair shop. *sigh* Looks to be working for the moment though. LOL

Thinking about vacations.

Is it too early to be thinking about summer vacation? I have been anyway. We usually go to Amelia Island and stay with family for a week or so during the summer. I love it there, but I think I'm ready for something different. I don't want something that is hugely expensive like Disney (although I'd love to take the kids there one day) and I don't want someplace we would have to travel a long long way. Maybe I can talk the family into going in with us and making it a big family vacation. We can get one of those Outer Banks rentals in North Carolina. If everybody goes the cost would be down for all of us. I think it'd be fun. It's kind of hard to get all of us in my mom's apartment on Amelia so this way we could all be together and spread out. That sounds good to me. LOL

AFC SOUTH CHAMPIONS!!!!

WOOHOO!! Go TITANS!!!!!!

Got tagged!

I got tagged for a Meme too! My friend over at monstermash40 tagged me for the 7 weird/unusual things about yourself. Let's see if I can come up with 7. LOL

1. I hate to cook. I love to bake though. Cakes, cookies, candies. I just can't stand to be in the kitchen to cook a meal. I put it off as long as I absolutely can.

2. I'm a tomboy. Have been since ever since I can remember. You will normally see me in jeans and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. Having said that...............I absolutely love to get dressed up. Like formal dress. Hair and make up done.

3. I hate to unload a dishwasher. I don't mind loading it, but unloading it is definitely on the list of things I hate to do. I would rather hand wash a sink full of dishes than unload the dishwasher to put them in.

4. I love to go fishing. It is so relaxing for me. Not sure if that would be considered weird or unusual though. Maybe because most people who know me outside of the family don't know that. LOL

5. I enjoy grocery shopping. I used to hate it, but now it is just about my only time away and to myself. I turn on the Jovi and enjoy the time to myself. LOL

6. Speaking of shopping. I really hate to go shopping. Christmas shopping, birthday shopping, whatever. BUT..................I love to go with my mom. I could spend all day shopping with her.

7. I love to read, but only romance. It's an escape for me and it's mindless. I need mindless entertainment sometimes. LOL I can read an entire book in a matter of hours. I hate to start a book if I know I'm not going to be able to finish it that day. I once stayed up for 24 hours straight reading. I took the book with me to the dinner table and the bathroom. I HAD to finish that book!!

So there you have my 7 things. Not sure how weird they are, but there ya go.

Ok, I'm not going to tag anybody, but feel free to participate if you like! ;-)

Looking for ways to save money

So, with the economy the way it is right now I'm looking for ways to save some money. I'm looking at all of our bills and seeing if there is a way I can reduce them. I've decided that I can't cancel the life insurance on any of us, but I can look into changing my insurance providers. I've been with the same company for car insurance since I was 16, but if I could find something cheaper I would be willing to look into it. With that said, who do you have your auto insurance with and how much is your monthly premium?

Did you notice?

I have a new countdown ticker. There is a Bon Jovi concert coming up and it's a Fan Club Only event!! We just found out today that it is not going to be the whole band though. I'm a little disappointed with that, but not enough not to go! Heehee! We don't know the venue yet either. Just that it is in central New Jersey in February. Yes, I'm nuts. I'm going to New Jersey in February!! It's gonna be fun though. I can't wait!!

I'm so tired of hearing these words!!!

"Mom!! I want that!!" It's all I hear these days. Every single toy commercial that comes on Joshua wants whatever it is! The latest? He wants one of these rc helicopters. I've tried to explain to him that it is rude to say that all the time or to demand a certain toy. He doesn't seem to get it yet. *sigh* He wants to tell everybody we know exactly what to get him for Christmas or his birthday. How do I convince him that this is not the polite way to ask for things?

The Black Dagger Brotherhood

Ok speaking of lusting after things. I am in love/lust with a few vampires. Yeah I'm serious! I just finished reading a series written by J.R. Ward called the Black Dagger Brotherhood. There are 6 books in the series and another one comes out in April. I. CAN'T. WAIT!!! I finished the last book a couple day ago and I'm already having withdrawals!!

It took me awhile to start reading them. I had several friends who have read them and recommended them. I didn't think I would be able to get into the whole vampire thing, but oh boy did I!! They are fabulous!! If you like to read I really really suggest that you pick them up! If you do, let me know what you think!!

I was soooo cool!!!

Ok, I'm in lust with a media room. I went to visit a friend and they have what they call a media room. They have a huge plasma tv mounted on the wall with the fabulous home theater seating and surround sound. OH. MY. GOD!! I was in lust immediately. And then she turned it on. Yeah lust! No other word for it. I swear I'm such a guy that way. LOL

Family update!

There really isn't much going on these days. Ari is still taking the antibiotics for her reflux. She has an appointment with the urologist next Tuesday morning. It's at Vanderbilt at 8am. Wish us luck not only with the appointment but with traffic getting there. We have to drop Joshua off at school at 7am so it's going to be cutting it close getting downtown on time.

Joshua is doing really well at school. There were some struggles with him adjusting to being in "real" school the first nine weeks, but it seems to have worked itself out. He is loving it and learning a lot. I'm very proud of him.

Christian is doing well too. He moved into his own apartment in October. We hadn't seen him since June until last weekend. We all had dinner with him. It was great to see him. The kids really miss him. So do Michael and I. I hope he can come with us to Florida for Christmas, but he isn't sure he can get off work. We shall see.

I have had a nasty sinus infection for over 3 weeks. I went to the doctor 3 different times. I had 2 rounds of antibiotics, a steroid shot, and finally a steroid nasal spray. The spray is working finally. I was miserable. I can finally breathe much better. Still having problems at night, but not as bad as it was. My next OB appointment is next Wednesday. I will get an ultra sound and then see my doctor. Yes, we are going to find out what we are having. We are all excited.

Michael is doing well. Working hard as usual. We are getting to spend a little more time together just the two of us now that my doctor made me stop working. It's been really great. We don't get enough time to ourselves.

Is this a new diagnosis?

I've been wondering lately if the fibromyalgia diagnosis is a new thing. It seems that I have a lot of friends who have been diagnosed with it. I also hear about it more on tv commercials. I'd never heard of it until a few years ago. How common is it? I kind of wonder if I am hearing about it more these days because I'm getting older and my friends are older as well. It's pretty scary though. At least for me. It tends to make everyday things much more difficult.

We are back!!

Whew, I hate being without a computer. Ours died a little over a week ago and we got it back today. Of course we lost everything so I have to go find all my favorites again. I hate that, but at least we are connected again. There are several posts I need to do to catch everybody up on things. I'll get to those in the next few days. I definitely have to do the last UGA regular season game recap. It's not gonna be pretty. Ugh! I'll catch everybody up on the kids and the pregnancy. Nothing major happening though so be prepared for boring. LOL

UGA 17 (9-2) Auburn 13

Ok, I'm back. I do realize I didn't blog about the UGA/Florida game or the UGA/Kentucky game. I was pretty disgusted with both of them. One we didn't show up for and the other well the offense showed up, but the defense didn't. Kinda like this game too. Ugh! Why is it we play down to our competition? We should have crushed Kentucky and we should have crushed Auburn, but we let both teams stay in the game. Ridiculous. Disheartening. I tried not to let myself get my hopes up for this year with all the hype during preseason. I hated that we were ranked #1. I'd rather we had been ranked #5 or #6. After all there is only one way to go if you are ranked #1. *sigh*

Ok so on with the stats from the UGA/Auburn game.

1. Stafford was 15 of 24 for 215 yards and 2 TDs.
2. Knowshon rushed for 131 yards on 22 carries (ok, I just love this kid!! Please let him stay through his senior year!!)
3. A.J. Green caught 5 passes for 81 yards.
4. We only threw to 4 different receivers.
5. We had 351 total yards (136 rushing).

We are off this coming week. I think that is a good thing. We have those pesky Bees up next. They are looking for revenge as usual. I just hope we play them better than we played Kentucky and Auburn. Losing to them is almost as bad as losing to Florida. Blech!

I don't think it's going to happen this year.

Every year we do pictures of the kids for the photo holiday cards, but this year I don't think it's going to happen. It is always so hard to get a good picture of the kids since neither one of them want to cooperate when I take them. I feel bad about it, but it is just such a hassle these days. Plus the cost of mailing the things is outrageous. I just can't justify it. So, if you were looking forward to a Christmas card featuring my beautiful children I'm sorry to disappoint you. You will just have to come visit us and take your own pictures..............if you can get the munchkins to cooperate. Good luck with that! ;-)

Ok it's cold!!

I so was not ready to turn the heat on yet. *sigh* But I had to do it. It's too cold to leave it off. I think I could get away with it if the kids were not here or if they would even wear clothes while at home. They won't. LOL I know that I could just get a heated blanket and be fine sitting watching tv. Heck I might get one of those to use even with the heat on. They just look so cozy and comfy. It might keep my feet warm too. As it is even in socks my feet freeze while I'm just sitting around.

Whew!!

Can I just say thank God for health insurance? Between me being pregnant and Ari's recent health issues I'm soooo glad we have good insurance. I just got the insurance explanations for all of the testing we have both had in the last month. Folks, that is a lot of money and we don't owe anything. Insurance has covered it all. I am so thankful that both Michael and I have jobs where we can get insurance for ourselves and the kids. I'm not sure what we would do without it at this point. If you've ever thought about not having it you need to rethink that. You never know when something unexpected will come up and that insurance will come in handy.

16 week baby appointment

I went to the doctor today. All seems well with the baby. The little one's heart rate was 164. I've been feeling a little movement. Mostly at night when all is quiet and I'm relaxed.

As for me, well the doctor has pulled me from work for the duration. I've been having blood pressure issues at work. She thinks it is stress and being on my feet for so long during the day. She wasn't happy with it. She said that it's too early to be dealing with high blood pressure at 16 weeks and that it will only get worse as the pregnancy progresses so we need to eliminate what stress we can. I still have to check it during the day to make sure work was the cause though. I think it was since at bedtime and when I get up in the mornings it was normal. So anyway it looks like I'm a stay at home mom until this little one is born. I've never been a SAHM before. I'm not sure what to do with myself. I'm sure I can find plenty to do between now and Christmas, but after that I have no idea. Maybe I should some las vegas hotel reservations and take a nice vacation. LOL I wish!!! Heehee!!

So anyway, if you get bored and want to go shopping or do lunch give me a call. I'll be free. LOL

Yes I've noticed

No, I haven't blogged about the Georgia/Florida game. I was waiting until I calmed down a bit before I started typing out a review of that particular game. It's been over a week. I'm still pissed off. Am I going to write a review of this one? I'm afraid not. I am disgusted. I can't bring myself to do it. There is nothing to say really. We sucked. On both sides of the ball. I didn't even watch the entire thing. I had to turn it off. My blood pressure was sky high. *sigh* Talk about one game ruining my entire football season. This game never fails to do that.

Speaking of the 18 year old.....

He bought a motorcycle! Ugh!!! Now don't get me wrong, I love bikes!! I really really do. I just don't like the idea of my 18 year old driving one around all the time. This is his only mode of transportation. Yeah that doesn't make me happy. *sigh* I haven't seen this bike yet either. I know that it isn't a Harley. Those are my favorite. I guess that's a good thing though since I'm sure Harley parts would cost more if he needs to do any mechanical repairs on the thing. *sigh* Is it wrong of me to wish that he was driving a nice big truck instead of this dang bike? Ahhh, the joys of being a parent of an young adult who you have no control over anymore. *sigh*

Ahhh, he's an adult now.

I talked to the 18 year old yesterday. He signed a lease on an apartment and got his first set of keys to his own place. He is supposed to move in this weekend. Yeah so what is he going to have to move? He has nothing. LOL We are going to give him our recliner and next time he comes to visit we are going to go to our storage unit and see what else we can help him with. I know that we don't have much furniture to spare though. He will have to go to a discount furniture place to help with that. I'm sure he will get a lot of stuff for his apartment for Christmas too. This will be one Christmas it is easy to buy for him. LOL

Georgia-Florida

I can already feel my blood pressure going up. This is going to be a nasty long day. *sigh* Yeah, I hope no one decides to call me during this game. Not going to answer if they do! Grrrrrr!!!!

ETA: AWW HELL!! Worst officiating crew in the SEC is officiating this game. This does not bode well for the game. F*CK!

2 FUCKING BAD CALLS ALREADY!!! One no call when we got held and then a no doubt bad spot on 3rd down. Richt challenged and still lost. FUCK!

Friday, October 31, 2008

I wonder.....

I wonder what the apartment people would think if I had the pvc fence installation guys come out and put a small fence around the back of my apartment. LOL I so want to have a place where I can send the kids out to play and I can let the dog out and I don't have to be right there with them. I don't mind going with the kids to the playground, but it would be so much easier if I could just send them outside to play. I would also get a lot more done around the house. They could run off energy while I made dinner or cleaned the house. I guess we just need to start looking at houses again. *sigh* I'm not sure where we are going to end up though. Are we going to eventually move to Florida or are we going to stay here? I go back and forth on it almost daily. I want to go home and be closer to my family, but I'm not thrilled with the school system down there. Here I know that they would get a great education. It's definitely a dilemma. *sigh*

The Cocktail Party!

The time is here. This is the one game every year that I hate! Yes you read that right! I absolutely HATE this game. It makes me nervous and I get really bitchy during the game. Usually doesn't matter if we are winning or losing. I just get so passionate about it and my blood pressure tends to rise. I throw things at the tv. I curse............loudly.

The hatred for the Gators runs deep. There is no other team that I hate as I hate them. Since I was a little girl. The hatred grew as I grew. The head honchos of the team haven't helped. More egotistical, self serving, unsportsman like men I've never seen. Their egos are so inflated that I wonder if they could use some Stacker to deflate it. LOL I really really dislike them and it makes the hatred of the entire team that much more powerful.

So, all that said. My advice to you for this weekend. DO NOT CALL ME! I cannot promise to be civil. I'll be growling until after the game. If we win you can call right after the game. If we lose I'd wait a couple days. LOL It takes that long (and sometimes longer) for me to get over it.

UGA 52 (7-1) LSU 38

Wow! That is just about all I can say about this game! It was definitely fun to watch that's for sure. The 52 was the most points we've ever scored at Tiger Stadium. We went down to Baton Rouge to play some football and boy did we!! On LSU's first play from scrimmage we intercepted the ball and ran it back for a TD! We ended up with 3 interceptions, but I wasn't really happy with our defense if you want to know the truth. We couldn't stop the run to save our lives. Their big RB had 144 yards. Way too many!! They threw for over 200 too so not great. We have to fix that!!! We also had some really bad penalties. Not as many today, but still had some that hurt us big time. Gotta fix that too!! Can't do that against Florida next week and expect to win!!

Today's stats:

1. Stafford was 17 of 26 for 249 yards and 2 TDs.
2. Moreno ran for 163 yards on 21 carries and 1 TD.
3. We had 3 interceptions.
4. Gamble intercepted twice and ran both back 40+ yards for TDs. (Yep, BOTH of them!!!)
5. Total rushing yards 194 (-10 at the end when we were taking a knee so really 204)
6. Total yards 443.
7. We threw to 9 different receivers and had 4 different rushers (including A.J. Green! LOL)

Really not a bad day. We never trailed in the game.

Next week is the hated Gators. I will be sitting right here, but I don't want to talk to anybody or see anybody. That game always stresses me out and makes me incredibly irritable. I'll not be good company for anybody! LOL

Here we go!!

The game is starting. What game, you ask? The UGA/LSU game of course. My Dawgs have traveled to Baton Rouge today. We are an already banged up football squad. I hope they went down there with good travel insurance. We can't afford to lose anymore starters to injury. It's going to be a hard fought game on both sides of the ball that is for sure. Am I nervous? Hell yeah!!

OMG!!! First play from scrimage and we intercept for a touchdown!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!! Let's hope play like that continues!!!

I'll be back later with post game posting.

GOOOOO DAWGS!!!!!!!

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Well that was stressful!

Ari had to have some testing done at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital today. Nothing MAJOR, but still stressful.

She didn't like the ultra sound at all. Said it hurt. Then the catheter was HORRIBLE!! She screamed and screamed. I was able to be in there with her when they did that, but had to leave when they did the xrays. She screamed during those too because she said the "camera" was too loud. None of us could comfort her. *sigh* Then when she went to pee afterward she cried saying that it hurt when the pee started. I finally got her to pee when we got home. She still says it hurts. I wonder if maybe they scratched her when the put the cath in.

She does have renal reflux on the left side. So basically that means that she will be on a low dose of antibiotics until she outgrows it. Not happy about the meds, but not entirely positive that is what will happen. I will know more on Friday when we go to her next dr. appt. That was just what the dr at the hospital said they do for it. I'll see what HER dr says.

A step back in time

I was looking at some old videos and just had to share them...........again. Heehee!!

UGA 24 (6-1) Vandy 14

I have to say that was a pretty good game. I enjoyed it. There were a few times I was rolling my eyes or wanting to throw things at the tv. That's to be expected with this game though. Vandy always plays us well. I hated seeing the dejected looks on their faces though. They have nothing to be ashamed of really. I know I'll be pulling for them the rest of the season. Like I have on all other games with the exception of today. LOL

Knowshon and A.J. both had amazing games today. I really do love watching those kids play football!! Our defense had 2 interceptions although there were like 3 others that should have been picked off. Stafford threw 2 himself. I didn't count the penalties today, but I think we had fewer than normal. Feel free to correct me on that one if you know for sure. LOL

Here are the stats for the day.

1. Stafford was 13 of 23 for 194 yards and 2 TDs.
2. Moreno ran for 172 on 23 carries and 1 TD (I think he is at 11 on the season).
3. Green caught 7 passes for 132 yards.
4. Total rushing yards was 231.
5. Total overall yards was 426.

Up next week is LSU. Not incredibly nervous about that game, but will be anxiously watching. This game is @ LSU and that is always a hard place to play so it will not be an easy game by any stretch of the imagination.

GOOOO DAWGS!!!

Whiny children

Ugh! Both of them went to bed late last night (that was our fault) and both of them woke up whiny and grouchy this morning. I'm ready to have them take naps already. I know that naps just make for rough evenings so I'm going to try to avoid it today, but dang if they don't stop whining I'm going to pull my hair out!!!! UGH!!!!

Hmmmm

I wonder. Do all computers come with a video card or do you have to purchase those as extras? Not that we necessarily NEED one, but do they make that big of a difference? I know they give you better graphics on your computer and that they are good for video games. We don't play a lot of games on the computer though. A friend of mine who does a lot of computer stuff said that we should get one. I just don't know if we need to spend the money on one. Ya know. I'm thinking we are fine just the way we are. LOL

It's getting to be that time of year.

Christmas. I've been shopping already. I'm actually almost done with the kids and I know what I'm getting Michael. The one thing I'm unsure about is what kind of game system to get the kids. Should I go with the PS3 or something else? We have an old Playstation here already, but we only have one game for it. LOL My dad has a Wii and the kids love it. I kinda want to go more educational with the games and go with the Leapster. Ugh. Decisions! I know that regardless of what we get the kids are going to have a blast with it. I already know from visiting my mom and dad that I am going to have to limit the time on the games big time! Joshua will play all day if you let him. This is why I've held off so long in getting them any kind of game system.

Fun at the park!

It was a really nice day to go to Centennial Park. It did get a little cold there at the end, but we all had a blast.

Here are some pictures from our day.

A house divided

It's not really that big of a deal in our house. Just more fun than anything..............................Unless of course UGA loses. Then well it can get pretty ugly. LOL Bet you would have never guessed that, huh?

Tomorrow at 11am we will both be sitting in front of the tv and not saying much to each other. I don't rub it in when UGA wins and he doesn't when Vandy wins. Can't say the same for his family though. *sigh*

We went to Centennial Park today and of course I had Ari in her UGA cheerleading outfit. Isn't she cute? Heehee!!

Names! Names! Names!

I have never had a hard time deciding on baby names.....................until this time. I can't come up with names that I like. My list is very short. *sigh*

Right now I have for girls..................
1. Joslyn Victoria
2. Makenzie Nicol
3. Nora
4. Marlee Grace
5. Ava Jordan
6. Lacie
7. Lily

For boys the list is even shorter........
1. Jack (not short for anything..........just Jack)

*sigh*

Do me a favor please. Leave a comment with your favorite names. Help us out here. :-)

UGA 26 (5-1) Tennessee 14

WOOHOO!!! This weekend I was in the North Georgia Mountains with my two best friends, Nat and Nicol. Every year we do this on the UGA/UT weekend. Nat and I watch the game and Nicol is banned to the basement of the cabin. She is a jinx to our Dawgs you see. She has never seen them win a game. Neither live nor on tv. She is not allowed to watch the games. (Oh and yes she watched the UGA/Bama game! UGH!!! Yes she got in trouble for it!!)

Anyway, Nat and I watched the game on Saturday and I have to say that I was incredibly happy with the outcome. We played well on both sides of the ball. Stafford had a career day. Moreno rushed for over 100 yards (against a stingy Vols defense supposedly). And our defense shut down the Vols running game. Yes, I would have been happier if we had gotten into the end zone instead of so many field goals. I'm not complaining though. A win against the hated Vols is a win. Heehee!!

Here are the stats for the day:

1. Stafford was 25 of 36 with 310 yards!
2. Moreno ran for 101 yards.
3. Massaquoi caught 5 passes for 103 yards! (he had an amazing touchdown catch too!)
4. We threw to 8 different receivers.
5. UT had a total of 1 yard of rushing (if I did the math right). Way to go Dawg D!!!!

It was a fun game to watch for me. And imagine....................I didn't get ANY texts from the UT fans in my life this year! What's up with that? They enjoy sending those when the outcome is different! No, I don't send them when my beloved Dawgs come out victorious. I should though!!

Up this week is Vandy. Now usually I don't have anything against Vandy and actually pull for them when they play anyone other than UGA. This year it's going to be a tougher game(although it tends to be a tough game every year) than usual. Vandy is doing really well this year. They've only lost 1 game. It's homecoming for us too. That usually spells trouble when we schedule Vandy for that game. LOL Nicol is going to Athens this weekend for a reunion of sorts. Don't worry fellow Dawg fans, I've warned her not to go into the stadium!!!

ETA: We did get some bad news from Saturday's game. We have lost Vince Vance for the rest of the year. He injured his knee. We are going to feel his absence. *sigh*

Our family..........as drawn by Joshua

This is Ari, me, and Michael. Notice the baby. LOL

Home from my girls' weekend

It was such a wonderful weekend. I was in pjs the entire time. Just got dressed this morning when we had to leave. We did absolutely nothing all weekend. It was great!! It's always nice to be with my best friends! We talked and read books. We were actually in the same room for hours and didn't say a word. LOL All of us reading. We have talked about doing this more than once a year. No definite plans were made, but it sure would be nice to see them more than once a year.

I came home to a sick kiddo though. Ari is feverish and throwing up. *sigh* It never fails. At least one of them gets sick on this weekend every time. Last year they both had Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease. *sigh*

Girls' Weekend!!

WOOHOO!!

Mom is in the air right now and should land in less than an hour. Nat just called and she is at the airport. She lands at 10:30. One more night and then I have a nice relaxing weekend. Good friends. Good books. Good movies. Football. No kids! What more could a preggo mommy want? Heehee!!

Preggo hormones!

Ugh! Ok, I just watched the Larry Munson video lower on this page. I've watched it many many times already. I'm sitting here bawling. Yeah. Crazy. I know. I just love to listen to that man call a game.

Here are some clips for your enjoyment. *sigh* God I'm going to miss his voice calling my Dawgs.

How cute is this???

OMG!! I want it!!! Ivy over at Home Ec 101 is giving away a diaper cake!! It is the cutest thing!!! I soooo want it!! It would come in so handy when this baby comes!! I need to learn how to make them too. I've got friends who would LOVE them at a shower!!

Hate them!!! Hate them!!!!

ACK!!! Spiders!!!! OMG!!! We have so many freakin' spiders in this apartment. If you know me at all you know that I absolutely HATE spiders!!!!! They freak me out!! I can deal with snakes much easier than these dang spiders. I need to go buy some spider traps. Blech!! I can't stand it. Can we move? NOW? Oh and since Michael works second shift guess who gets to figure out a way to kill the dang things! Yep you got it. ME!! I can tell you want doesn't kill them! Oven cleaner. Windex. Pledge. Bathroom cleaner. Do you know what will kill them? Hairspray. Yep, stiffens them right up. Works really well.

Hmmmm........

Do you have term life insurance on your kids? I have life insurance on both myself and Michael. I also have it on all of the kids. My question is this? Is this a waste of money? Granted it doesn't cost a lot and after 10 years it is paid up and I don't have to pay anymore. I'm just wondering if I could save some money (and we all know that with this economy we need to cut costs whenever we can) by not having it on the kids. Is that bad?

Still happening.

*sigh* I still have that pregnancy acne thing going on. Ugh!! I swear it wasn't this bad with my other two kids. *sigh* I've tried several different things. My friends have recommended stuff. Readers of this blog have recommended stuff. What have you found to be the best acne treatments for you? Shouldn't it go away soon? Am I going to have to suffer with it my entire pregnancy or like most other bad side effects of pregnancy it goes away in the second trimester?

OMG! Chocolate cake for one!!!

This could be really really bad!!! It only takes 5 minutes!!!

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons flour (plain flour, not self-rising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Small splash of vanilla

-Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well . Add the egg
and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix
again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at
1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but
don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if
desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to share!)

I need something to make me smile after last nights game.

This should do it.

UGA 30 (4-1) Bama 41

Well that was UGLY!! Very very ugly. The first half was completely pathetic. We couldn't do anything on offense or defense. I guess the one good thing I could say is that at least it wasn't against an unranked team. Oh hell, who am I kidding. There was NOTHING good about it. We lost. That says all there is to say. I didn't even watch the entire thing. Yes you read that right. I went to bed during the 3rd quarter. My blood pressure got up too high. I figured for my health and the health of the baby it was the best idea. I was kept up to date on the score and whatnot from Peachz. She was texting me all night. I have to say that I was completely disgusted. The boys came out in the 2nd half and actually played some good football, but it was too little too late. What the hell happened during the first half? We ARE a better team than what we showed last night. One thing that has to get fixed is the damn penalties! OMG!! We kept giving them yards. Keeping drives alive. Ugh! Nothing more frustrating than that. Well that and lack of execution. Ugh!!

I'm not even going to post the stats today. Just know that we couldn't run the damn ball and so we had to throw way too many times. Stafford got some yards, but again it was nothing to be proud of. Nothing about last night makes me proud.

We have our bye week next week and it is much needed. The week after that we play the Vols. They are not playing well this year, but we can't take that lightly. We have to come out with a chip on our shoulders. Big time. Don't disappoint me boys!!! I'll be there yelling at the tv again no matter what, but we have to play better. Take advantage of your week off.

Ohhh..........injuries. Apparently Stafford had some sort of head injury, but they say it's nothing major and he never came out of the game. Knowshon has an elbow injury and so far I haven't read how serious that is. Coach Richt didn't know last night. Ellerbe got hurt early and never returned to the game. His was a knee. Tripp Chandler hurt his shoulder, but returned to the game. Chris Davis and Kris Durham were also hurt last night. We need that bye week!

Here are a couple pictures that show how the Dawg Nation is feeling today. Chin up guys. We will rise to fight another day.

USC lost!!!

Heehee!!!! To an unranked 25 point underdog!!! Heehee!!!

OMG!! I'm ROFLMAO

The top 10 whiniest coaches. Guess who is #1!!

And so it begins....

What begins you ask? The search for baby bedding and nursery decorating ideas. I love this part of it, but I also hate this part of it. *sigh* I always find great things, but I don't have a house so I can't really paint the walls or anything like that. I have to do it all with white walls. That is so boring. *sigh* I want color!!! I want to be able to paint murals (ok, have someone else paint murals! LOL) on the walls of the nursery. We need a house. I did find one that I really really liked. It's even in the school zone where I work and where my kids go to school. We are under a lease here until next summer though and I'm sure that house won't be available then. *sigh*

Really, it's driving me nuts!

This pregnancy acne is driving me bonkers. It's on my forehead, my temples, my cheeks, my chin, and around my nose. So really...........it's all over. You can't see it really, but I can feel it. I guess I should be grateful that you can't see it. I'm not grateful though. I want it gone. I tried washing my face with rubbing alcohol last night. I know that isn't always a good idea, but I was out of the Sea Breeze that I usually use. I'll do it again tonight and see if that helps at all. It does feel a little better today so maybe it will help. *sigh*

Say it ain't so, Larry!! Say it ain't so!!!!

I came home from work today to learn that the much loved voice of my Georgia Bulldogs, Larry Munson, is retiring. Effective immediately. We all knew this was coming. It still hurts my heart. I've never known UGA football without Larry. I started listening to him when I was 14 and my mom had taken tv games away from me (she thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown at the end of a game). I had to start listening to the games on the radio. Larry really brought the games to life for me. I could almost see what was happening on the field. He always called the game with such emotion. He loves the Dawgs as much as I do. You could hear it in his voice.

I wish Larry well and just hope he knows how very much he will be missed. Here is a tribute I found to some of Larry's calls. It gave me chills and I do have tears in my eyes.

Larry will celebrate his 86th birthday on Sunday. Happy Birthday Larry! God Bless and God Speed!

Thanks for the memories!!

It's BLACKOUT time again Dawg fans!!!

It is official! Coach Richt has announced that next Saturday's game against the Tide will see the boys come out in the black jerseys. They are once again asking the fans to come dressed in black as well. Dang, I'm going to miss another one. *sigh*

Not only is it a Blackout, but that sports channel that I refuse to name is going to be in Athens with their Gameday show. I can't say that I'm happy about that, but oh well. LOL

The game will be televised on that channel and it is a 7:45pm kickoff (that's 6:45pm CST).

Ok, Dawg fans I want you to be at your all time best. Be that 12th man and be LOUD!!! I can't be there to add my voice, but dang it there is enough of you that it shouldn't be a problem!!! Make me proud!!!

I love this look!!

UGA 27 (4-0) Arizona State 10

Whew! We came out of the desert (with all that dry heat! LOL) with a win. It wasn't pretty at the beginning. We couldn't seem to get anything going, but we eventually started moving the ball. Stafford had a career high yardage and our run defense was fabulous!! I swear I love Rennie Curran!! He was everywhere last night!! Knowshon and A.J. Green both had fabulous nights too.

While it was a good game and we played well for the most part, there are still things we need to work on. Penalties! OMG!!! We had 104 yards in penalties!! That is unacceptable!! (can you see the teacher coming out in me? Heehee!) Some of those penalties kept drives alive too. Ugh!! That is so very frustrating. Our kickoffs were better last night (with the exception of the out of bounds kick), but coverage still needs some major work. Opposing teams are getting some great field position. Come on guys give your defense a break and pin these guys deep.

Ok, here are the stats from last night.

1. Stafford was 16 of 28 for 285 yards and 1 TD. (Yeah all those yards on 16 completed passes! Take that Tebow!)
2. Moreno had 23 carries for 149 yards and 2 TDs. (Isn't he at 9 TDs for the year now?)
3. A.J. Green at 8 receptions for 159 yards. (Ummm, he's a freshman and he made some amazing catches last night!)
4. Mo. Mass. had 4 catches for 44 yards.
5. King had 1 reception for 41 yards (that was beautiful!)
6. We had 461 total yards.

Here are a couple pics of Knowshon's first touchdown. It was FUN! Heehee!!

Here's one of Green going up for a ball. Dang that kid can jump!!

Nervous about the game tonight

My Dawgs have traveled to the desert. They play Arizona State in just a couple hours. I'm nervous. Ok so yeah I'm ALWAYS nervous about our games. LOL Well you never know which team is going to come out onto the field. I'm hoping for the good one tonight. You can be sure I'll be biting my nails either way. I'm sure I'll scare the dog and the kids at some point tonight as I yell at the tv. *sigh* You would think they'd be used to it by now, but apparently not. LOL

I watched the Gators/Vols game earlier today. That was an ugly game let me tell ya. UT couldn't do anything on offense or defense. Yes, I'm still nervous about our game with them. LOL I can't tell if Florida played well or if UT just played that badly. "Superman" Tebow (can you see me rolling my eyes?) had like 74 yards passing and 22 yards rushing. I'm sure if you watch that damn sports channel that I refuse to name they will be talking about how wonderful he is. (Yeah, I'm rolling my eyes again.)

I also watched the Alabama/Arkansas game. Folks, Alabama scares me. We play them next week. At least it is between the hedges. They will be looking for revenge too after our overtime win last year. We have to come out with attitude!!! If not it is going to be an ugly night.

A little girl needs your help!

She needs your prayers. Makenzie is a 3rd grader at the school where I teach. Her mom is a teacher at our school. Early this week a tumor was found in her brain. Yesterday she had surgery to remove the tumor. They were able to remove the tumor with only some cells remaining. Unfortunately the tumor was found to be malignant. Makenzie will need to either have radiation or chemo. She has a twin sister and a little brother. Her brother is in Joshua's kindergarten class.

A benefit fund has been set up in Makenzie's name at Wilson Bank and Trust and her family has set up a webpage to update family and friends. Stop by and read her story. Leave a message. The support is much appreciated. Leave her a birthday message. Her birthday is Monday (Sept. 22).

Baby update!

I have had my first OB appointment. I went on Monday. They did an ultrasound so I was able to see the little peanut's heartbeat. Awwww!!! Yes, I did say that. Right after I asked the tech if there was just one in there. LOL The ladies at school had me paranoid about having more than one!! Yeah I was freaked out. Everything looks fine with the baby. The heart rate was 175 beats per minute.

Anyway, they have changed my due date to April 27. Thought it was anywhere from April 15-20. It's no big deal though. If I have this little one on the due date I will have 14 weeks at home before having to go back to work. Chances are though that he/she will come earlier and I'll get even more time at home. Much longer than with the other two kiddos. With Joshua I was home for 7 weeks and with Ari I was home for 9. I kinda like the idea of being home a little longer.

They have me checking my blood sugar already. I have to check it 4 times a day for 2 weeks and then fax the results to my doctor. So far they are looking pretty good. Even after my spaghetti dinner with milk to drink last night my blood sugar was fine. That made me happy. It was a major test. LOL It was kinda high after lunch at school today, but still under what they like. That made me happy. Keep your fingers crossed for me that since this pregnancy has been so different from the other two it will be different in this aspect too.

If I don't start looking pregnant soon...........

I swear I'm going to have to go off on somebody. Ugh!! Yes, I realize I need to lose a little weight. I get that, but dang it. You don't have to be rude about it. Today a "friend" is talking to me about her losing weight. She isn't aware that I'm pregnant as she has been out from work for awhile now. So anyway, she says to me "I've found the best diet pills ever. Maybe I should share them with you." OMG!!! How incredibly rude. Even if I wasn't pregnant I would have been a little offended. Ok, I would have been A LOT offended. Some friend, huh? Way to make another woman feel good.

More proof that this prenancy is different than the others

My first two pregnancies were very similar throughout. I wasn't sick. I was not a "typical" witchy pregnant woman. I was tired, but nothing major. My complexion really cleared up. This one? OMG!!!! This one is SO different. I have morning sickness that is killing me. Thank God for Zofran. I am way grouchy and short tempered. I'm so tired I can't see straight most days. I have horrible acne. I need a good acne treatment that is safe to use while pregnant. *sigh* I am also experiencing major heartburn. Yeah this early!! I had it maybe 4 times total with Ari and not at all with Joshua. It's almost every night with this one. We still aren't sure about the gestational diabetes this time though. I am testing it 4 times a day already. I'll keep y'all posted on that one.

UGA 14 (3-0) South Carolina 7

Well it wasn't pretty, but it was a win! I'll take it however I can get it. Yes, it probably means that we are going to fall in the polls again, but ya know I never agree with the polls anyway. LOL

It may have been ugly, but I wasn't really surprised. Anyone familiar with this rivalry shouldn't have been surprised. These two teams have a tendency to play like this. In the last 5 years the winning team has scored less than 20 points. All I can say this week is thank God for the defense!! Whew!! They won this game for us that is for sure.

Here are the stats for the day. They are ugly. LOL

1. Stafford was 15 of 25 for 146 yards and no touchdowns. He did rush a few times and got some major yardage on a couple (17 and 30 yards).
2. Moreno rushed for 79 yards on 20 carries and 1 touchdown.
3. The offense had 252 total yards.
4. While kickoffs are still a concern I have to say that Mimbs had one helluva punt from the endzone! I think they say it was 77 yards. Damn!! Now if we could only get someone who could kick off the tee. *sigh*
5. Our defense recovered a South Carolina fumble in the end zone for a touchback. Whew!! That kept them from tying the score. Whew!!

Like I said, it was an ugly game, but I'll take an ugly win over an ugly loss any day!! Now we look forward to next week and Arizona State. Now they are a little angry right now because they lost to UNLV yesterday in overtime. Again we will have to tread carefully.

GOOOOO DAWGS!!!!

More Coach Richt love!!

Here are 3 more videos that I picked up from markricht.com. These come from the Coach of the Year interviews. I really really do love this man. He's a fantastic coach and an even better person.

I just love our coach.

Here is a short video I got off of markricht.com. It's a clip from "At Home with the Richts."

EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT DAMMIT!!!!!!!

That is all.

7 years tomorrow.

September 11, 2001. I'll never forget. My heart will always bleed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and friends of those lost on that day.

God Bless.

Are they really my kids?

I sometimes wonder if they could possibly be mine. Neither one of them will eat the good stuff. No mashed potatoes and gravy. No steak. No corn on the cob. Really! Heck Ari won't even eat macaroni and cheese!!! I LOVE mac & cheese!! How can a child NOT eat that? Their diet consists of spaghetti (laced with pureed veggies), tacos, pb&j sandwiches, circle ham (aka....bologna), and fruit. Yep that's it. I hate it. They refuse to try anything. If I make them they will gag until the throw up all over their plates. I've tried the whole "this is what we are having. if you don't eat that then you don't eat." Yeah that didn't work. They didn't eat for like 3 days. Will they ever grow out of this? Will I ever be able to make cubed steak with rice and gravy and butter beans or corn? I'm so tired of eating the stupid stuff from above. Hell, the won't even eat chicken these days. They were such good eaters when they were little. *sigh*

Blind. They are blind!!

I swear that there are people out there who do not value education. The problem with this is that these are the people who are making some major decisions that affect education. It's sad and disheartening and incredibly frustrating. Aren't we educating the future of our country? No it is not only the teachers in a school who are important. Yes it takes more than teachers and principals to run a school. The state mandates new programs and then the county takes away staff that enables us to implement these programs correctly or effectively.

If these idiots don't start realizing just how important education is I'm scared to see what will become of this country in 30 or so years. If only Lasik surgery could open their eyes before the kids have to suffer from their idiocy. *sigh* Unfortunately it's not that kind of blindness.

Knowshon video

Ok, found a video of that amazing hurdle. Here ya go! Enjoy!!

Saturday, September 06, 2008

So that great hurdle from Knowshon?

Yeah I found pictures!! Heehee!! I found them over at anopiniononsports. I'm going to post them here! I hope nobody minds!

ESPN might not show him the love, but I sure will!! Great job Knowshon!!! We are proud to have you as a Dawg!! ;-)

UGA 56 (2-0) Central Michigan 17

We were televised today!! WOOHOO!!! It was great to be able to see them live. It was a good game. The offense was rockin' and so was the defense. We even returned an interception for a touchdown. Knowshon had a great day!! He even hurdled a defender and gained a few more yards before going down on one of his long runs. (No, ESPN didn't show that on the highlight reel.......but I'll vent about them later.) Stafford had a pretty good day too. Not quite as good as last week, but a very solid day. I have to say that Central Michigan's QB was pretty darn good too. He started out badly, but he came out in the second half and played good ball. He actually had more yards than Stafford. The ball was spread around to both recievers and rushers.

Here are our stats. You knew those were coming, right? ;-)

1. Stafford was 18 of 28 for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns (he rushed for 25 yards).
2. Moreno had 18 carries for 168 (average of 9.3) yards and 3 touchdowns (one of those was a fumble recovery in the end zone.)
3. Massaquoi had 5 receptions for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns.
4. Dobbs ran an interception back 78 yards for a touchdown.
5. We threw to 9 different recievers.
6. We had 3 rushers (not including the QBs). Each rusher had at least 1 touchdown.
7. We had 263 yards rushing and 289 passing. Folks that is a total of 552 yards.

Next week we begin our SEC schedule. We head to Columbia and face the Gamecocks (anyone else happy when they lost to Vandy on Thursday? Heehee!). They are going to be a little ticked off when we get there. We will have to be careful. We are going for revenge though since they beat us last year. We can't underestimate them however. They lost to Vandy last year too (Heehee!) and still beat us. I guess I should explain my giddiness over a South Carolina loss. It's not my usual reaction for that particular team (well until recently). I'll give you just one word..........................................Spurrier. I absolutely hate that man and any team he coaches. So when he loses I get giddy. Heehee!!

Ok, now on to my ESPN vent. Last week I was ticked off because I was watching a game break and they spend about 3 minutes talking about how awesome the Gators and Tim Tebow were. Tim didn't throw anywhere near as well as Stafford. Yet, they spent all of 15 seconds on the UGA game (nice for the #1 ranked team in the nation, huh?). Didn't even mention Stafford's numbers. This week I was watching their College Football Saturday show and they spent 3-4 minutes on Ohio State and then again less than a minute on the UGA game. They didn't even show the great runs by Moreno...........not even the one where he hurdled the defender. That was a great play and they don't even touch on it. Oh and then of course they had to talk about Tebow (aka "Superman"). Ugh! Yeah you can see me roll my eyes can't you? Whatever people!! I'm going to have to stop watching ESPN aren't I? They just irritate me. *sigh*

Just got chills!!!

Kick off for the first televised UGA game of the year. Heehee!!!!

Wish I was there!!!

Want to keep track of my pregnancy?

Just scroll to the bottom and you will see a ticker. I may have to change the actual due date after my appointment though. Right now it is just a guess.

Heehee!! This makes me happy!!

Coach Richt is going to start blogging weekly!! He has his own website!! Can't wait to read!!

Yes I realize I'm a nerd like that. ;-)

UGA 45 (1-0) GA Southern 21

Ok, I haven't watched the game yet (doing that in a couple hours on CSS replay), but I have to blog about it some anyway. I kept up with it using Fox Sports GameTrax and the game tracker on georgiadogs.com. I have to say that I have some questions. Like, why did they pull Stafford out when they did? Doesn't that take him out of his rhythm? And, why did Moreno only get 8 carries? No, I'm not a coach and no I don't profess to know more than they do, but dang these are two of our premier players. You would think we would want them in there at all times. Another question is why was Southern able to score 3 touchdowns so quickly there at the end? Did they take out some of our defensive starters or did they just back off some? Maybe watching today will give me some insight.

Even with all my questions I'm not all that unhappy with the game. ;-) Yeah I know, sounds like it, but I just question that's all. LOL Our numbers were fabulous though. Well minus the dumb penalties. Here are some of the stats! You knew those were coming didn't ya?

1. Stafford was 13 of 21 for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns. (Love these numbers!!)
2. Cox was 4 of 6 for 48 and 1 touchdown. (not bad there either)
3. They threw to 9 different recievers (yeah that's a lot)
4. There were 4 different rushers (not counting QB scrambles)
5. Moreno had 8 carries for 59 yards and 3 touchdowns! (average of 7.4 per carry)
6. King had 12 carries for 95 yards (average of 7.9 per carry)
7. Total yards.........535!! (wow!)

So as you can see not a bad start for my beloved Dawgs!!

I may be back after I watch the game with some more comments. LOL

I hate taking the dog out at night.

It makes me nervous. Especially since I heard the news report of the woman who was raped not to long ago when she let her dog out at like 3am. Granted I don't let my dog out at that time of night and I usually try to make sure she goes out before it gets dark for the last time until Michael gets home from work, but sometimes I have to. I hate it. There isn't enough outdoor lighting around here to make me more comfortable. Sometimes it sucks being a woman. *sigh*

Sorry for the whiny girly post. LOL Sometimes it happens. ;-)

It's football season folks!!!

WOOHOO!!! I'm so excited!!!! Football season is here!! I've watched all weekend. I will watch the UGA replay in a couple of hours (not happy that it wasn't televised to begin with! Grrrrr!!). I will watch the UT game tonight. Watching on tv is not like being there live, but I'll take what I can get!! One day I hope to have a big screen plasma tv in an entertainment room. Complete with some discount home theater seating for more comfort. Yes I realize that I'm kinda like a guy that way. I do love me some football. *sigh* I have always been a huge football fan. I can watch all day and do watch all day. All weekend. Including Thursday and Monday. Do you guys realize that we get 5 days of football? OMG!! Heaven!!!!! Heehee!!

Saturday, August 30, 2008

Are you ready for some football?

I'm just giddy!!!!! It's only a matter of a couple of hours and my Dawgs will hit the field!!! God I wish I was there!!!!

GOOOOOOO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday, August 29, 2008

Just in time for tomorrow's game!

I got home today to the news that they have revealed Uga VII. His name is Loren's Best and he is the 3 year old son of Uga VI. He will make his first public appearance tomorrow at the UGA v. GA Southern game. Too bad it won't be televised.

He is the biggest mascot second only to his dad. He is a cutie that's for sure. Don'tcha think?

I can't wait for tomorrow's game. I can't watch it live (thank God for CSS replay though!), but I will have it pulled up online for up to the minute updates. Heehee!!!

I'm sure I will blog about the game later as usual.

Hey folks..................IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!!!! ARE YOU AS EXCITED AS ME?

GOOOOOO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!

They think I'm nuts

This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who knows me, but when it comes to certain things I'm quite obsessive. This is a test. Can you name the two things that I get obsessive about? Ohhh, come on. I know you can. It's really easy. If you know me at all or if you've been reading this blog for any length of time you can easily guess. LOL

If you guessed my UGA football and Bon Jovi you get a cookie! Those are my two obsessions. The funny thing is it seems to be getting worse as I get older. You would think that I would mellow out as I got older, but that's not the case. At least my wonderful husband is understanding or maybe just very tolerant of them. Heehee! I'm sure he now wishes that I would have come with some of those promotional products like pens or coffee cups explaining these things though. A warning of some sort. LOL

I'm confused

Ok, this digital tv thing that is coming in.............2009? So does this affect only those tvs that have an antenna? Or, does it affect all tvs? Am I going to have to go out and buy a HDMI switch or something like that? I have a non-antenna tv with digital cable. I'm hoping that is fine. I'd hate to have to spend a lot more money just to watch tv. I'm already mad that my cable company took off the NFL Network from the free channels. LOL

First day of kindergarten!!!

Joshua did so well today. Mom, however, got a little teary eyed at one point. His teacher was fabulous and made me laugh through it. She is fabulous!!! After he got his stuff unpacked and signed in he looked up at me and said, "Bye Mom." Like it was no big deal. *sigh* I guess it really isn't since he has been at the school since he was 7 weeks old. LOL It was hard for me though. He IS my baby. LOL

In my classroom before we walked across the hall.

With his teacher.

Signing in.

Can someone please tell me why?

Why is Ohio State ranked #1 year after year in the power rankings? This really really annoys me. They are consistently ranked up there and in recent memory they've gotten their butts handed to them by SEC teams in the National Championship game yet still they are ranked #1 this year. Ok, so they make it to that game, but come on people really. Who do they play to get there? Not anybody of note really.

Can you tell I'm tired of hearing about Ohio State? Ugh!

Well I didn't expect that reaction

Wow that hit out of nowhere. I was just talking to my mom and she said that my uncle in talking about selling the land that he lives on. I'm sitting here bawling. That is my grandparents' land and home. They have been gone since '95 and '01, but it just breaks my heart to think of it no longer being "home." Ya know. It was really weird though because we were talking and she told me about it and I thought I was ok. Then about 5 minutes into a different conversation I just started bawling. Wow. Didn't expect that. Really. It just hurts to think that it may not be home anymore. I know that it would be a positive thing for my uncle and his family, but it's hard to lose the place that meant stability for me for most of my life. I guess it's almost like losing my grandparents all over again. I also know that I'm getting ahead of myself. They haven't decided to actually do it. They are just thinking about it. I really never expected to have this kind of reaction to something like this. It's just a piece of land, but I can't stop crying.

Are you ready for some football?

Yep, it's that time of year again!!! WOOHOO!!! Tonight is the first Titans pre-season game. Now I don't really get excited about pre-season except that it signifies the beginning of football season!! And I have to say that pre-season football is much better than no football! I'll definitely be watching. I've got to see how my boys do. I'm sure they starters won't be out much though. Either way..............GO TITANS GO!!!

I still have 20 days until my Dawgs take the field, but it's coming!! I can't wait. I know I haven't talked about them being ranked #1. I'm trying not to think much about it. To be honest I'd rather go in ranked 5-10 than #1. There is only one way to go from there y'all and well I don't want to get my heart broken. We have a TOUGH schedule. I'm talking really really tough. One other thing I worry about too is that the guys get lax when we do hit those games that are not thought to be "tough." They have a tendency to do that and if they aren't careful those teams will come out and well..........break our hearts. It's happened before. Everybody is gunning for us. And I'm not even talking about the big ones like Tennessee, Florida, and Auburn. Being #1 at the beginning of the season is not a good thing in my book. *sigh* All that being said.........................GO DAWGS!!!!!!
