I need some jewelry.

If you have been reading my blog for awhile you know that while I was in Florida at Christmas our apartment was broken into and they took all of my jewelry. I'm slowly starting to build the collection back up. Last weekend my mom gave me two pieces of fashion jewelry. They are really nice pieces. I bought a pretty piece on Friday that is actually used to hold my name tag at work. I am still missing my black pearl necklace, diamond pendant, and UGA earrings though. *sigh* There were quite a few pieces of fairly expensive jewelry taken in December and it breaks my heart. Most of them were worth more in sentimental value than actual value. Why do people do stuff like that? Do they think they deserve it? Can they not go out and work for what they have? I did and do. I hate a thief.

I can empathize with you on this one. My mom used to keep a stash of fashion jewelery deep within a really big chest in the basement that was otherwise filled with blankets and cushions.
One day we came home and our front door was broken into. I don't know how, but they managed to find the light wooden box.

I was very little back then, but I remember my mom was completely in tears because everything in this stash she inherited from her mother, which had died just a few years ago back then.
It was all fashion jewelery, nothing really fancy or extremely valuable, but the emotional value for her was huge.
I could never understand how my mom could make "such a fuss" about it, in my mind it were just "some old accessories". I never thought about it again, until recently, about Twentyfive years later, the same thing happened to me - that was just 5 days ago.
Why do people do such things? I don't know.
I can't really get over it, and I really don't want this to happen to others.
I want to write a guide on how to safely store jewelry for my website called Jewelery Stores, which I run together with my husband, and put it online within the next two weeks.

I'd be glad if you had any suggestions on the topic, if so, please email me or leave a comment on any posts within my blog or here.

Hope your new collection will be as beautiful as it's predecessor.
Cheers,
Jana

I do know what you are going through. My Grandmother's necklace went astray last year at a Charity Ball I still am holding out hope it may return to me one day.

It was the only piece of jewellery from her I had received

In my Prayers,
Heather
