Well, today my youngest turns 2 years old. I can't believe she is already two! *SNIFF* *SNIFF*
These two pictures were taken at the hospital the day she was born.
This is her 1st birthday.
This picture was taken this past summer and is one of my favorites.
This was taken during this year's Christmas card photo session.
She has grown so much. Her personality has really emerged in the last few months. She is definitely all girl. Her favorite color is pink and she loves shoes. She can be loud and very demanding, but she still has that shyness. I'm not sure I know how to deal with a girly girl. She is beginning to fight back when her brother or friends take her toys or just irritate her though. It has been so much fun watching her become a little girl and leave the baby stage behind. It is also a little sad for me. She is, after all, my baby.
Happy Birthday sweet girl! I love you very much!!

I'm about to jinx the hell out of us!! LOL
We are FINALLY getting some winter stuff!!! It supposedly comes in on Wednesday night/Thursday morning! I'm so excited! They are calling for a couple inches of snow. Okay, those of you who get lots more than that can just stop laughing now! Yes, we in the south are pretty pitiful when it comes to our snow excitement. LOL Heck a measly little 2 inches will keep us home from school!

Name 3 things you want to do before you die.
I have a pretty long list, but these are my top three:
1. Visit every NFL stadium and watch a game.
2. Visit every major theme park and ride the roller coasters.
3. For one season go to every UGA football game home and away.
What do you want to do?

Damn I'm good!!
The bunk beds were delivered today right before Michael had to go to work. So, it was left up to me to get them put together so Joshua would have a place to sleep tonight. Only problem was.............no instructions!! Turned out not to be much of a problem though. Once I was able to determine which screws went with which part the rest was a piece of cake. Well not so much keeping the kids out of the room so they wouldn't get hurt. At first it was easy because I put the bottom part of the top bunk at the door and they couldn't move it. LOL Anyway, the beds are put together and ready for a 3 year old to sleep. We still need to get the twin mattress for the top bunk, but at least he can sleep on the bottom for now. There is quite a bit more space in his room now too.
We put Joshua's old bed in Ari's room because we are missing the rails and slats for the wrought iron bed. They are at Granddad's house in his attic so as soon as we get over there to get them I'll trade those beds. I put her new comforter set on..........the one she picked out and let me just say that man it is PINK!! I also bought her a lamp with a pink shade and when it is turned on the entire room has a pink glow. For a mommy who doesn't like pink that much it's not a place enjoy being in! LOL I do love that it looks more like a little girl's room now though. We will see how she sleeps in a big bed tonight. Hopefully since she didn't get a nap today we will have no problems.
Anyway, both rooms are done.........for the most part. I'll post pictures when we get them completely done.

Do you believe in ghosts/spirits?
This question was posed to me tonight so I am asking you. Do YOU believe in ghosts?
I believe. I have never had a real experience with ghosts other than a Ouija board experience that made a whole group of us (grown men included) swear off of them forever. I've had feelings that I wasn't alone in a room and such too, but I've never seen anything. I have a cousin, however, who did. She lives in my grandparents' old house and she was sleeping in my grandmother's room. She saw Ma one night. She has refused to sleep in that room since then. No matter that we tell her Ma was there to check on her and that she would never do anything to hurt her she just can't bring herself to sleep in there anymore. I swear that my kids can see my grandparents. There have been many occasions where they are looking off at something/someone laughing, reaching up and playing and I can't get their attention. One night I was putting Joshua to bed and he was looking over my shoulder just talking and laughing. He wouldn't look at me. I just sat there watching him and wishing I could see them too. When he was finished playing (or they were) he smiled and said, "Night night!" Then he looked at me as if surprised I was sitting there.
Have you ever had an experience with a ghost? Do you believe? I'd love to hear your story.

SCORE!!!!
How's this for luck? As you know, we have been looking for bunk beds for Joshua's room. Well, guess what happens today? A fellow teacher sends out an email at school announcing that she is giving away (you know..........for FREE) a bunk bed/futon combo to the first person to reply. I quick send her a message, but unfortunately I'm not the first. I find out who was and go to give her a hard time. She ends up telling me that I can have it!! I didn't intend to get it. I just wanted to mess with her, but she said she didn't really need it so I could have it!! I'm so excited!! We still have to get a mattress for the twin bed up top, but that's no biggie. Now I can buy linens for both beds immediately instead of getting them along and along like I was going to do.
Now all we have to do is figure out how to get it here. She doesn't think it will fit in my van even with the 3rd row down and the captain's chairs out. We don't know anyone with a truck (how sad is that?). She said she would talk to her husband about delivering it for me. That would be great. Hopefully we will have it by this weekend.
I'm taking his current mattress and putting it on the wrought iron frame I have for Ari so she will get out of her toddler bed too. We will sell his old full sized bed frame. I now have to decide how to decorate their rooms. Joshua has sports posters (Braves and Titans...................hmmm no UGA stuff..............gotta do something about that!) on his walls now and I guess I could stay with that theme. Ari doesn't have a theme so I'll be starting from scratch with hers.....................ohhhh fun!!!
Know anybody who needs a full sized bed frame? Let me know, I'm selling for cheap. ;-)

rotten, no good, very bad day!
Four hours of sleep + PMS + loved one in the hospital = very bitchy emotional basket case.

Da Bears!!
Well, heck. None of the teams I wanted to go to the Super Bowl are going. *sigh* The New Orleans Saints (my last remaining team) just lost to the Chicago Bears by the score of 39-14. I don't really dislike the Bears, but I was really hoping the Saints could go to Miami. I will still be pulling for the Bears to win, but maybe I shouldn't say that out loud. Seems I'm bad luck for the teams I've pulled for so far. With my Titans out of contention I picked a team to pull for and every time I picked a team they lost. Talk about depressing. LOL Maybe I should pull for one of the AFC teams (Patriots or Colts~not determined as of this post) in the Super Bowl therefore ensuring that the Bears win. Yes, I am normally an AFC fan when it comes down to AFC v. NFC, but I really really really dislike both the Patriots and the Colts. I'm looking for a way for both teams to lose tonight's game. Much like I do when the UT Vols play the Gators. Unfortunately I've not ever been able to come up with a way for that to happen so I guess I need to figure out which team is the lesser of two evils. I'll get back to you on that one. It's a very difficult decision...........at least for me. LOL
Ugh, looking for bunk beds
I'm finding some pretty good prices through eBay on the bunk bed frames, but the dang mattresses are outrageous!! And, I have to have 2 for the bed. Michael isn't happy about spending money, but I keep telling him that at least I have the frame for Ari's big girl bed and we can use the mattress and box springs off of Joshua's current bed. We need the bunk beds in his room so he has more play space and then Christian will have a place to sleep when he visits. I'm getting a little impatient about getting it now that I did get the go ahead from Michael.

I need a nap
I got very little sleep last night. I was up late trying to decide if I was going to keep Joshua home again today. He was sick the night before throwing up, but seemed to be better yesterday. Well, he refused to eat dinner last night and was complaining that his tummy hurt. I didn't know if should keep him home one more day or not. The decision was taken out of my hands at around 11pm. He woke up whining that his tummy and head hurt and about 5 minutes later he puked again. So I called off work to stay home with him. I finally went to bed around midnight and he was still up with his daddy. I'm not sure what time they went to bed, but around 2:30am Joshua fell out of his bed and was awake for 45+ minutes whining. He was unhurt and wouldn't tell me why he was still whining other than saying, "I just want to cry." Yeah, that didn't make me very happy. He finally went to sleep, but about 30-45 minutes later he was awake again. This time only for about 30 minutes or so. I finally got back to sleep around 4am and then Ari was awake at 6:30am. *sigh* So now I'm exhausted and in need of a nap. Problem is neither of the kids is taking one. I'm actually not forcing it so that maybe (just maybe) they will go down easily tonight at bedtime. Makes for a pretty grumpy mommy though especially when everything out of the 3 year old's mouth is whiny and he keeps aggravating the snot out of the almost 2 year old.

Trying something new with Ari tonight
Okay, this whole "I'm not going to sleep until 10pm" thing that Ari is going through has to stop. So, tonight I tried something different. I had dinner finished earlier than usual and both kids have had a bath already. I'm giving Ari a little down time before she has to go to bed. Usually we are rushing to get things done before it is bedtime and it kinda gets her all wound up. I think that may have something to do with her not sleeping. I've also given her medicine for her stuffy/runny nose. Now, I'm sure the medicine will help some, but I'm hoping that this new routine will be just the thing. Especially after today. We had a very rough morning at home and she had a rough morning at school with a couple meltdowns. It's all because she isn't getting enough sleep. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Ugh...............dammit!!
There are no winter coats for boys to be found around here!! I found Ari one today for all of $8, but no one has boy coats in Joshua's size. Yes, I realize I should have already gotten them, but a family member usually gets them one for Christmas and they didn't this year. Then it was just too damn warm to even think about it. Now our highs this week are going to be in the 30s and 40s so they need them. We have been to 6 different stores today and now home with nothing. It's raining like crazy and I just couldn't get them in and out of the car anymore. I don't know what I'm going to do now. *sigh*

So, who is your team in the Super Bowl?
All of my teams are out of contention this year so now I have to decide which team in the playoffs I want to pull for. I think I'm leaning towards the New Orleans Saints. There is just something about them this year. Especially after the whole Katrina mess. Heck, I even cried on their opening night at the Super Dome. I'm just hoping the Colts don't make it...........or the Patriots for that matter. I guess that means I want the Chargers to win the AFC. LOL
Who wouldn't want more of these lying around their house?
*sigh* I have puppy fever big time right now. Just look at her. Isn't she so cute? How could you not want a house full of ones just like her? I don't know what Michael thinks is worse..........puppy fever or baby fever. LOL Neither are good for the money situation! Oh well, I guess I can put a little money back every week until I save enough money for the next bulldog puppy. After all, Georgia needs a playmate.

Picture sharing time
I hate forgetting things!!
So, we have friends coming by tomorrow for the night. I've been looking forward to this for awhile. They are great friends and I don't get to see them often. They live in Michigan and we are about the half way point between that and his parents. We all enjoy them being able to stop here to take a break from driving. Anyway, I forgot that it was this weekend!! My house is a disaster!! My Christmas tree is still up! And, I have tons of laundry! Ugh! I've been working since I got home from work today and it looks okay, but tomorrow will be pretty busy. I have to finish up the laundry, take the tree and decorations down, sweep and mop, vacuum, and clean the guest bathroom. Not to mention cleaning the kids' rooms. *SIGH* So much for a nice family day out tomorrow.

Back to work *SIGH*
Yep, went back to work yesterday. Luckily we didn't have kids yesterday. It was a workday. I got a lot of work done which is great. The kids came back today. They were pretty good actually. I think they were glad to be back. I, on the other hand, was not. I would have loved a few more days. Oh well, only 9 more weeks until Spring Break! LOL

How incredibly sad
Sorry to start the new year off with such a sad story. Corner Back Darrent Williams with the Denver Broncos was shot and killed in a drive by shooting last night. A car pulled up beside his Hummer limo and started shooting. He was killed and 2 others were injured. Click here for the story.
This just sickens me. Why do people do stuff like this? These people have completely changed the course of 2 children's lives. They are now without a father. The person/people who have done this have also ruined their own lives. They will get caught and they will go to jail for the rest of their lives. It just makes no sense.
My heart goes out to the family of Darrent Williams..........his real family as well as his football family.
