I want to go there.
I've traveled to Australia and Scotland, but I've never been to Boston. How sad is that? I'm a teacher. I should at least visit the cities that have had a major impact on our great country. There is so much history in Boston. You know with the Boston Tea Party and all. LOL I think that it would be very cool to take a guided tour of the city. You can learn a lot from a guided tour. I bet Boston Tours could book one for me. I'd love to walk or ride the route that Paul Revere took when the British were coming and see Battle Trail where they say the minutemen were fighting for their freedom. I'd also like to see Plymouth Rock. I think it would also be pretty cool to take a cruise on the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides). Maybe I could do some whale watching while I'm there too. Now THAT would be cool. One place I have to visit in every city I go to is the zoo and the aquarium. I'm not sure what the draw is for those, but I hate to miss them when I go to someplace new. I would also want to take a lighthouse tour. I love lighthouses. They fascinate me. They have since I was a little girl. They also kind of freak me out a little too. They just seem a tad on the spooky side sometimes. LOL There is so much to do in Boston. I have to plan a trip there really soon.

My Girls' Weekend
How much fun did we have? Loads of fun. What do we do? Absolutely nothing! It is the most wonderful weekend. There are no responsibilities and no stress. It's just three best friends, a few books and movies, some knitting, and lots of catching up.
This year we stayed in a new cabin. This one was by far our favorite. It was decorated very tastefully. They were not trying to achieve the whole "mountain cabin" look to the point of overdoing it. There were artificial deer antlers on the chandelier and the lamps, but none of the bears or moose stuff scattered all around. Like I said it was very tasteful. Even the fixtures were understated. They had very nice Kohler Faucets in the bathrooms and kitchen. I find it funny that I would notice the faucets. LOL But, they were really nice.

Dog hair! Ugh!!
I was just looking around in my car today and I have Georgia's hair all over the place. It is disgusting. I need to vacuum it so much more than I actually do. I just hate to go off somewhere and do it. It would be so much easier if I could do it at home. I think I would do it much more often if I had a car vacuum at home. I'm kinda lazy in that I don't like to go far from home if I don't have to. LOL
Is it winter yet?
I am so ready for cooler weather. Even cold weather. It has been a horribly hot summer and it is just now starting to cool off. This weekend we get high temperatures in the 70s. I'm loving it. I'm ready for some cold weather though. Maybe we can find the time and the money to take a winter trip to Colorado or somewhere and learn to ski. It's pretty sad that I've never been snow skiing in my life. It's not like there aren't places close that I couldn't have visited while in college. While I've done some amazingly fun things in my life, I've also missed out on even more. I will definitely have to plan a trip sometime soon to help remedy that situation.
The Christy Sports site is a great place to find everything you would need for a ski trip. They have it all. They have rossignol skis and snowboards. You can get the bindings, boots, and bag all in one place. It's pretty cool.

Found the perfect gift for my daddy!
I always have a hard time finding gifts for him. He is just now getting his garage back from my sister and her stuff. He he making a work station in there now and needs lots of cabinets to store his own stuff. Cabinets and workbenches would go over really well with him right about now. He will have to wait for his birthday in November though. Yeah, I'm kinda mean like that. LOL

I love to find ways to save money.
I was surfing around trying to find a Coupon and I came across a site with lots and lots of coupons and discount codes. I love to find place I can go when I'm shopping online to see if I can find a deal on whatever I'm buying. It makes me feel all happy inside. They update it throughout the day too so I can always check back. They promote over 5000 merchants so you are bound to find the one you need.

Who knew?
When I went to Australia I learned about how they have the Royal Flying Doctor Service that flies into the outback in medical emergencies since it is so remote. Well, I just found out that we have an air ambulance here in the United States. They can fly critically ill/injured patients from hospital to hospital. They make domestic flights as well as international. You can even have your personal physician on board. Their planes are well equiped with all the medical equipment and supplies they might need. This is a pretty cool service really. Especially for those who may be traveling and need to get back to their local hospital.

Want an easy way to make some extra money?
I have found the easiest way to make a little extra money. I first heard about payperpost from a fellow blogger, Beth. I had been trying to find a way to make a some extra money to help out with paying off some credit card bills as well as saving for those things I label "I want." Right now I am saving for an iPod Shuffle and tickets to the next Bon Jovi concert. Of course, I'm using the money for those "I want" items more so than paying off those credit cards. LOL Now when those "I want" items are paid for I want to use the money I make for clothes for the kids and things for my classroom. I spend way too much money on things for my classroom and any little bit of extra will help tremendously.
I like payperpost because they let you choose which opportunities you want to write about and there is no set number that you have to do each week or each month. It does get difficult sometimes to get those "good" opportunities. You have to meet certain criteria like having a higher page rank from Google or a lower Alexa score, but they do give you ideas on how to improve your score/rank. The companies you are writing the post for can also rate you. This gives you a tack ranking. The better the reviews from the companies the better your tack ranking. It can get frustrating, but hang in there. The more you post the more those scores will go up (or down depending on which they need to go) and you will be eligible for more and more opportunities.
If you want to make a little extra money go check them out.

Struggling students?
Is your child struggling in school? Many children struggle. What some parents don't know is that there is help out there. Sometimes teachers and parents can't do it alone. Some children need the one on one attention that they may not be able to get at school. Don't be afraid or embarrassed to get your child the help he or she needs. Check out the tutors at Innovative Tutor to see what they offer struggling students. It could just be the push that opens up a whole new world of learning for your child.

I need a vacation
Being a mom of two very young kids, a wife, and a teacher there are times when all I can think about is getting away. Sometimes I don't have a destination in mind. I just want to get away from my responsibilities for a couple of days. I have learned that it is important to take time out for myself to re-energize in order to be a better mom, wife, and teacher.
As important as it is for me to get that "me" time it is equally important that I get some quality time with my husband. When we want a nice relaxing weekend we like to go to a nice bed and breakfast in the mountains. A place were we can relax, go hiking or horseback riding, and if we are lucky get in some fishing (okay, the fishing is just for me. LOL).
How do I find my oasis of peace? I look online at Cheap Hotels. If I don't have a particular destination in mind already I can go on this site and search for cities by drive time. You can book an entire vacation package on one site. You can book a cruise, flights and rental cars too.
When you click on a particular city/cruise the available packages and their prices come up on the first page. You can compare prices without clicking on each individual one. It's great! You can make your reservations online or by calling an agent, whichever you are most comfortable doing. You can save up to 70% on your get away. They even offer incentives!! They offer up to a $100 rebate for a 12 night vacation and you can get a gas rebate of $30. Can't beat that with gas prices what they are these days.
So, if you are ready for a vacation just click and start relaxing.
